Hmmm...
Clinching it My Way Just another Realsportsbloggers.com weblog Archive for the 'Television Viewing' Category Time for NO TV! Is there a 12 Step Program?I did it.
I signed up for the Army National Guard. I gotta go to boot camp.
No TV. No family, either, but I am more used to TV.
Sports.
If Indiana has lost in March Madness before I get going, that will releave some anxiety. But not really. I want them to win.
Times in my life with no televsion: Scout overnight camps, plus summer camps that lasted weeks...Long road trips, some of which lasted a few weeks.
My Missionary Training time for 9 weeks at the end of 1989, then about 7 months of my 22 month mission down in Chile, 1990-1991. The other 15 months were not casual TV watching either, just the occasional lunchtime or dinner time Chilean programming, that didn't amount to much.
My first 8 months of BYU in 1993, there was little TV viewing...The occasional trip down to the basement when I had to do laundry, part of on-campus housing.
The summer study abroad in Jerusalem and the Holy Land, 1995... My poor apartment at the end of 1995 and beginning of 1996. It was called "Ambassador Apartments" or some such nonsense.
Then a long string of TV, but the summer of 2000, right after marriage, before we got cable: We got TV at the end of the August, in time to see BYU play Florida State in Jacksonville.
5 months of living somewhat stably in Chile, July to December 2005.
Lots of TV since.
And now I go away to the nether regions of the country, and I will not not see: the end of March Madness, nor much of the beginning, the first months of baseball, nor the NFL Draft (I assume), nor the NBA playoffs...
Bite the bullet, Clinch.
Get a life. Focus on the family.
Pity someone who needs it, not E-4 Clinch.
