Argh. Second iteration. (Verizon connection has been iffy for close to two months). Shame on you, you pompous advertisers! Sprint, too!
I had some nifty disclaimers, but more on those later, I suppose....
1. West Virginia. I don't know much about the defense, but the offense alone should do the schedule's trick.
2. USC. Even though I want them to lose a lot (like twice is a lot for them), I think they may end up being that good. I hope not. 13?
3.Wisconsin. Aren't we all tired of Michigan and Ohio State? And even Paterno has over stayed his welcome, hate to say it, such a class act...
4.Louisville. Schedule, schedule, schedule! And they are talented, too. Especially when healthy. (Knock on wood Cards!)
5. LSU. An SEC team deserves some pub, right? Yeah, but they will lose to a few...Including a BCS bowl!
6. Penn State. Could the Big-10 really be upside down? Just dreams. And my Hoosiers come in third! Nahhhhhh.....Uh? This should be UM or OSU, really. Mark those words.
7. Texas A & M. Yes, I am cooky. But I think they are due as a program.
8. Michigan. They are better than OSU this fall, and even beter than Florida!
9. Georgia. Good year for peaches and bulldogs. Not great. Good.
10. Texas. Can it be that close behind the Aggies? I don't know...Sue me! Where art thout Okie nation? TCU?
11. Hawai'i. I love that apostrophe. And they took the Rainbow out of Warriors long ago. They can play D.
12. BYU. People misjudge the MWC at their own risk, and Bronco Mendenhall (3rd year, 17-8 record) has the makings of a new Provo legend. Serious talent reloads here. Hello, BCS of the future!
13. UCLA. Can these two opponents be right next to one another? Who knows? Paging Phil Steele...
14. Tennessee. I think they should take down Tebow; and others.
15. Ohio State. I guess this makes the Big 10 the strongest conference?
16. Oklahoma. Steele has you much higher, so you slip in a disappointing teenager here.
17. Virginia Tech. Something has to go wrong, despite the emotional tributes. Iraq and our soldiers go through worse, unfortunately. Death to overcome is all very sad. Ask my Hoosiers. Find inspiration, hopefully.
18. Florida. I still doubt that they will do this well.
19. Missouri. Good job, guys! Underdogs for so long!
20. Nebraska. What is with me bunching these teams next to their respective conferences? I must be wrong, really wrong.
21. South Carolina. Not bad, Demonicume. Respectable. If they do better than this, than my Hoosiers should definitely go bowling. Does this make sense to any one else but me?
22.Texas Christian. Sorry Hogfan, the MWC is that good.
23. Auburn. It is a very good conference. But maybe Arkansas or Alabama, or--gasp---Vanderbilt?
24. California. I like the PAC 10 quite a bit, and I even think one of the Arizona schools is better than a few of these. I hope so, especially since BYU has payback on the Wildcats in Provo. But a lot of consensus likes the Bears, so here is my bandwagon excuse...
25. Oregon. Last and not least!
26. Florida State. Ahh, not really.
27. Nebraska. Yes, I suppose. An upset over USC would be very welcome. Now I know I am messed up for sure. Catch it, every one?
28. Notre Dame. I think these Leprechauns have a better chance than the Huskers of beating the Trojans. Fat chance, Bush Push Obama right into the end zone, er, White House.
29. Oregon State. Is the PAC 10 that good? I did snub some good ACC teams, plus some SEC, not mention USA and WAC schools. Is therte a crazy MWC team out there that I did not see? I saw people liking Colorado State...The improved Buffs will be a decent measuring stick...
30. Iowa. Yes, these boys can play. But that is not to say that Indiana cannot beat them...again!
Speakingswhich, IU is going to make a bit of noise.
First bowl since 1993-94! Yoooohoooo---Hoooooooosiers!
God bless the Hoeppners and all their players. You are our great hope from the heavens for a great year. Memorable, no matter what. Thanks again.
Notable snubs? Rutgers. No way, my ACC targets. Consider yourelf in some formidable cross hairs. Boston College and Clemson are snake bit. Usually by Miami, NC State, Wake or Maryland. Tough conference.
Navy? Always tough.
South Florida? Not so fast my friend!
Purdue? These guys are tough. You never know.
No one will jump on a Michigan State early start. You know how fruit is so delicious before it goes rancid?
Minnesota? You gotta love these guys.
Boise State? These are really heroes.
Oklahoma State? I always hope they outperform OK or any Kansas or Texas schools, but alas..
Houston or Tulsa ends up with a better season.
Or UTEP or Marshall or --eegh---Central Michigan!
Vitginia? Who else did I leave out? Northwestern? Nebraska? (Just kidding' too much Vonnegut...)
Pittsburgh and Washington should go to bowls. Who else? Utah and Wyoming? Oh yeah, new sentimental favorite: Army. I always like Air Force when not playing BYU, best of luck under the new command...
Go Ball State! There are more fighting Cardinals in the Universe than on the banks of the Ohio...Love to the MAC and Sun Belt schools, one of you will go bowling...And finish in the top 60! Like IU!
Peace and blog it.
