What did the football coach say to the banker?
Can I please have my quarter back?
That's exactly what Bill Belichick and co. are asking their respective bankers in regards to Tom Brady.
Tomorrow, the Jets and Patriots face off in the first of two regular season match-ups, with first place in the competitive AFC East up for grabs. Tomorrow, Brett Favre and Matt Cassel lead their teams to the Meadowlands in hope of a huge victory.
The expression "opposites attract" is normally used with two people of opposite personalities attracting. And that is exactly where the vast differences between the old and the young begin...
Deanna Favre could be argued to be a pretty woman, yet in comparison to Matt Cassel's wife..well it's like comparing ABC stars Eva Longoria and Ugly Betty.

Matt Cassel is a native of Sharon, MA (a small town outside of Boston), and every July 4th the town hosts a fireworks session at the local lake. I live in the town as well, and seeing Cassel alongside wife Lauren Killian on such a patriotic day set off several fireworks in everyone' s pants. Killian must either love underdogs...or she must love Cassel's dog down under. When it comes to scoring touchdowns, Favre wins. But scoring chicks: Cassel gets the nod. 1-0 Cassel
As a student in high school Matt Cassel was not only a well scouted quarterback, but an outstanding baseball player. This phenomenal athlete was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 36th round of the 2004 MLB draft, and has two brothers in professional baseball. Favre and Cassel's high school stats were extremely different. Cassel was looked at and offered various scholarships by several division 1 schools, and chose the prestigious USC. Favre on the other hand, didn't enjoy as much high school success as Cassel did, and was only offered one scholarship to Southern Mississippi. Cassel out played Favre in high school, which is why I give him the win. 2-0 Cassel
In college, well...Brett Favre must be victorious. As it is well known, Cassel didn't start one game at QB in college, for he was second string to Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart for four consecutive seasons. Cassel did, however, start one game in college at the tight end position, where he did not record one reception. Coming off the bench, Cassel's career college stats are 19-33, with zero touchdowns and one interception. As aforementioned, Favre's lonesome scholarship offer to Southern Miss didn't start out well. He began his career as 7th string quarterback at a then weak division 1 program, for he was brought on the team as a defensive back. Eventually he took Southern Miss. to a glorious football powerhouse. Favre's went 656-1,234, posting 8,193 passing yards and 55 touchdowns. No doubt, Favre began his college career as the true underdog, yet finished it as a star. 2-1 Cassel
Comparing the all time stats of Favre and Cassel are like comparing the comments made by Don Imus to the ones made by our president. Oh, that doesn't make any sense.

Regardless, the career NFL stats of the two quarterbacks are extremely different. Cassel hasn't started one game. Favre has started 258. Cassel is 35-57. Favre is 5,392-8,780. Cassel has thrown for three touchdowns and two interceptions. Favre has thrown for 444 TDs and 288 INTs. Cassel has thrown for a whopping 405 yards (yes, that is a poor example of sarcasm), where Favre has thrown for 61, 849. If you haven't caught on yet, Brett Favre has recorded a statistically better NFL career. The both of them, however, have been a part of one Super Bowl winning team. Favre, however contributed to his championship season. 2-2
Okay, so after comparing women, high school college, and the NFL, these two quarterbacks are equal! Right? Wrong, of course.
Favre is obviously the better quarterback, and twelve years older than Cassel, is old enough to be his father in Tennessee. Ooh, swing and a miss.
Both have been huge underdogs in their career, Favre in college, and Cassel in the NFL. However, in my opinion, Cassel does have the sheer potential to become a very good NFL quarterback, for he has never been given the chance. Will he be someone to record Brady-like or Favre-like numbers? Only time will tell.
Cassel is hoping to record his first win as a starter in this week 2 game.
Favre is hoping to survive just another week.
