I like Boozer actually; I think he is an over achiever. How many second round, 34th picks have made much of themselves.

That said, I do think he is overpaid which, as Kwame Brown can tell you, raises expectations and pretty much leaves everyone disappointed in you.

I was watching old games I still have on my DVR, like when Kobe scored 60 in one half against the Mavericks, then 81 against the Raptors. It's amazing how much quicker and more agile Kobe was back then.

I wonder, even if last years' Lakers stayed together, if they would be hungry enough to repeat, and if they would have improved enough compared to competition.

Shane, Odom is a tougher nut to crack than even Artest is. Because, through all his faults, no one has really questioned Artest's will to win. I question Odom's, because this deal makes no sense. He's not getting paid significantly more (it's about even), the Heat are worse than the Lakers and are no threat to the legit powers in the East even if they get Boozer, and he'd play the same kind of role with Miami other than he would start. How exactly is that an upgrade? I think it's a situation similar to Ariza's; he's trying to play his bluff card, and Jerry Buss called him on it. If he's not careful, he'll suffer a similar fate. Good post and after suffering through figuring out this new format the last two days I needed a nice chuckle.

The whole Odom ordeal is perplexing to me because if he bolts out of town then it's a loss for both the Lakers and himself. The Lakers will be without a reliable backup to Artest and more than likely he'll not play for a team good enough to win it all again.

Think you may be able to enlighten me a little on this?

Robert, I'm sure things will change once we get to the stages Lance dominates. But right now, the standings have budged little in the last week. If the excitement doesn't occur until later, why not wait until then to tell us about it?

As for Odom; it is ironic that he wants to bolt L.A. because he feels slighted, and then would take less money from Miami. He'd still be a second banana to Wade, and would not be on a legit contender (even if they add Boozer). We'll see if he's intelligent or foolhardy soon!
