Just when I thought that there wasn't any crazy rumor I could hear, get a load of this. According to reports, TNA wrestling has contacted Bob Knight about being "their new head coach". What the hell is up with that? What, Michael Vick and Jose Canseco weren't available? If Knight is stupid enough to accept this, he's even more off his rocker than anybody thought.

Let's not forget, TNA (Total Nonstop Action for those who care) has pulled this stuff before; they hired Adam "Pacman" Jones to 'wrestle' just last fall, even stooping as low as to make him one half of their tag team champions. Of course, they couldn't run very far, as the Titans got a restraining order to prevent any actual physicality from happening to Jones, buyt that's besides the point. Are these guys so desperate to compete with WWE that they'll sign anybody with a modicum of publicity to save them? I guess that's rhetorical, but why would Knight even entertain the thought of this?

Knight's antics may be well known (throwing chairs, choking and hitting players, etc.), but at least he did it in the real world. How awkward would it be being in a 'business' where it's not real? And believe me; I've flipped through my channels at home, and from what I've seen of this show, it's second rate material. Knight is a smart guy, and hopefully, he told TNA "Before I join your show, I want you to bury me upside down, so you can kiss my (expletive)!".

Bottom line; Bob Knight is a basketball coach, not an idiot. There's no upside and a whole lot of downside (ridicule) that would come up if he took this offer. Hell, if TNA wants some pub, get Pedro Martinez and Juan Marachal; Martinez could be billed as "El C***ador" and Marachal can manage him. Or how about Mike Tyson; wait, he's already done that! Get Roger Clemens to be "the Juicer". You get where this is going, don't ya? Memo to TNA; very few people care about you, and trying to generate cheap pub won't make it better. And if you think Knight's joining you, to quote your competition, "No chance in Hell!".
