wade phillips agreed to a 3 year deal to coach the cowboys.  after waiting for all the candidates to be interviewed, i'm a bit shocked he lived long enough to get the job.  honestly, i think it's a good move.  he can coach the defense, and jason garrett, hand-picked by ol' jerry cosmetic jones, can worry about keeping TO happy.

more trouble for reggie bush and USC?  when will this end?  now there's a rumor bush contacted top recruit joe mcknight to persuade him to attend pete carroll's football university.  i know this shouldnt be considered a big deal, but if all the allegations against bush are true, when do we actually draw the line and punish him?  

 if the packers are going to trade for randy moss, would you just do it already?  that way, i can begin not giving a rat's tail what you do as long as he and/or ted thompson are there.  right now, it's like living in purgatory.  i dont know whether to hate you, or kinda sorta be ok with the current state of the team.

 isnt in wonderful that bill belichick and ladanien tomlinson are bff now?  i was real worried old grumpy bill would bench LT for the pro bowl or something.

 ditto for jason taylor and shawne merriman.  i say line merriman up right behind taylor, and see how many sacks he can get.  wait, do they even allow linebackers to rush the qb?  can you blitz in the pro bowl? 

 lebron james thinks that, IF he has a gay teammate, it's ok....but that teammate should absolutely confess his lifestyle to lebron because it would show trust.  excuse me, but what the crap does revealing your deepest secret to a bunch of random dudes on a basketball team have to do with trust?  in the world of here today and gone tomorrow nba, who's to say that someone (not necessarily lebron) uses this information to ruin the reputation of a guy if he leaves via free agency or gets traded?  there's a whole mess of stuff that could happen, all negative, if a player comes out of the closet, but it's got nothing to do with trusting your teammates on the basketball court.

 dirk nowitzki made a comment about last year's nba finals.  dwyane wade responded.  now mark cuban is trying to bait wade into a war of words, claiming wade doesnt have the stones to defend his comment?  excuse me mr cuban, but since you're taking over dirk's side of the arguement, what does that say about the big german?

 today on espnclassic, they showed the 1992 nba all-star game.  it was supposed to have been magic johnson's final nba game ever, after admitting he had tested positive for the HIV virus.  naturally, the fans were all behind him, he scored 25 points and won the mvp.  of course, he played again....just another example of why i'll never believe a guy when he says he's retiring until he's dead.  can somebody get a law passed that once a professional athlete, coach or GM retires, he has to stay retired?

 why is it that nikki cox looks so ugly from the neck up?  this chick got her start in a show that i consider a lousy spoof of married...with children.  now, she's on "las vegas" with james caan, vanessa marcil and a bunch of people i've never heard of.  all i can say is, if it werent for her big hooters, i doubt she'd have a job in hollywood.

 do all radio stations across the country feel it necessary to play fergie, gwen stefani, justin timberlake and beyonce's new songs over and over and over again, or is it just the ones here in central wisconsin?  for the record, i think fergie is a joke, gwen stefani is one bleach job away from frying her brain, beyonce's songs i just dont get, and justin timberlake....i'm not even gonna say what i'm thinking.

 what's happening to brady quinn?  he's now fallen to #9 on mel kiper's big board.  here i thought kiper's man crush on quinn would last eternal.

 speaking of the draft....(and i think this has been mentioned already) could we stop with the mock drafts for at least another month?  well, at least until Norcal gets his blogger's mock draft up, and we start picking what team to represent.

 how come ron zook just HAS to be doing something illegal with his recruiting at illinois?  just because a really really bad team landed some top recruits?  i thought recruiting was his strength, and coaching was the reason he got fired by florida in the first place....but i guess when a bad team out-recruits some of the big boys, something must be shady about it.

 speaking of recruiting, i noticed not a single player of the top 25 chose wisconsin.  this is nothing new.  they rarely get top recruits, they just load up on huge offensive linemen, snag a decent skill player here and there, coach well, and win anyway.  hey, it beats being labeled as cheating for landing a few top prospects.

 why does rob thomas sound like he has a serious hemorrhoid problem?  i like most of his songs, but i cant help but think the man just needs some preperation H.

 rumor has it anna nicole smith's grave will be 8 feet deep, to accomodate her large assets.....i'll stop there, i dont want to keep piling dirt on.  oh shoot, i did it again.

 i know, i'm totally insensative.  but at least i'm not so shallow that i'll miss her just because i thought she was hot.
