brett favre called a news conference for saturday morning. he enlightened us with a statement saying he decided not to make a decision yet. he then ripped the media that showed up, and told them they wasted their time travelling to hear absolutely nothing useful. come on brett, they've been doing that for 15 years now. then next useful thing you have to say will be the 1st, and that wont happen until you announce you are retiring. perhaps all that drinking and partying early in your career confused you into thinking you had something important to tell us, and you just forgot what it was before you made it to the podium. next time you have a thought, you should probably write it down, or tell deanna to do it for you.
the brewers started the season 5-0, then got shut out 7-0 by arizona for their first loss. were the 1st 5 games a fluke? was this game just 1 of those days where nothing goes right? its too soon to tell in my opinion, but i'm going to celebrate the brewers being 4 games over .500, and in 1st place because it may not last long.
the bucks continued to do everything possible to get both philadelphia and chicago in the playoffs by losing their 4th consecutive game on sunday. michael redd has been struggling since a hot streak that ended last weekend, before the team travelled to...of all places, florida, where you'd think the weather would keep him warm. charlie bell has been the best player on the team over the past 2 weeks. it was nice to see in the games they won, but now its just depressing considering the coach didnt even know who he was when training camp started last fall.
wisconsin badger hockey men copied the women by winning the national championship saturday night over boston college. they had to win, because you just know the women would never have let them live it down if they didnt. not to mention one of the guys has a sister on the women's team.....who wouldnt let him touch their trophy. typical woman....j/k.
friday night i went to the kenny chesney/dierks bentley/sugarland concert in st. paul, minnesota. my friend is obsessed with KC, and got me a ticket without even asking if i was able to go. lucky for me i have no life, so i was able to make the trip with her, her mother and the ornery SOB her mother lives with. i have yet to understand why sugarland ever got a recording contract, and friday night didnt help me any. dierks bentley, from what i could tell, is liked by the women a little bit. he can sing ok, but i think they like his funky hair more than anything. as for kenny chesney, he's pretty good, and this was the 2nd year we made the trip to see him there. if anyone was going to file a missing persons report on Uncle Kracker, dont bother, he showed up to help sing "when the sun goes down" as he teamed with kenny on the single a couple years back.
sunday i visited my parents, and did some repair work on various pieces of farm equipment. its always better to get things in working order before the spring field work season starts. 1 breakdown can really cause problems when you're trying to get crops in between spring thunderstorms. mom and dad say hi, if anyone cares.
