i had a problem today....too much time to think.  i came up with some questions, but not many answers.

if carlos lee is overrated, and everyone thinks $12 million would be overpaying him, what does that make bobby abreu?  lee just turned 30, abreu turned 32 in march.  lee had 28 homeruns and 81 rbi for milwaukee this year, while hitting .286.  abreu had 8 homeruns and 65 rbi while hitting .277.  abreu's OBP is higher, but he strikes out much more than lee.  abreu had a contract through 2008 with salary of like $16 million each of the next 2 seasons.  lee wants roughly $14-15 million

according to reports, the phillies bought out the option on abreu's contract for 2008, for about $1.5 million.  i'm a little surprised the yankees werent willing to pay that.  why would abreu take that buyout?  he'll be 35 by then, and may not get anywhere near that amount if he struggles in new york.  is he doing this just for the chance to win a world series?

the yankees also took corey lidle, and i believe they picked up his option year(s).  why?  is he that good?

espnradio just reported the astros offered roy oswalt to the orioles in a deal for miguel tejada.  are the astros insane?  i know the astros struggle to score runs, but does it make any sense to give up oswalt when good pitching is so hard to come by?  and lets be honest, oswalt is a little better than good.

can the cardinals ever beat the cubs again?  if i were the cards, i'd be embarrassed.  getting swept by the cubs in a 4 game series.  i guess as a brewer fan, i shouldnt feel so bad now.  i still do, because it makes me realize how much closer we could be to the division lead if we could beat them.

what the heck has gotten into pittsburgh?  they just swept the SF balcos, and now have a 5 game winning streak.  forget trading all their talent, i think they should acquire barry zito and soriano, and make a run at this thing.  or not.

if a tree falls in the forest, and it lands on your mother in law, do you bother saving her?  if it falls and misses her by just a few feet, do you cut another 1 down?

if the atlanta falcons ran the wishbone offense, do you think michael vick could figure it out within 5 years?

if football season doesnt get here soon, will you go crazy? or are you like me, and are already there?

how drunk would you have to be to trade for darius miles straight up?

if you cant beat 'em, do you A) join 'em? B) try harder next time? C) blame the officiating? or D) say hey, at least we're not the knicks?

how depressed are you right now if you're a kansas city royals fan?  are you wishing you were the team that jumped to the national league instead of the brewers, so you could have at least had a shot at 80 wins this year?

after making (or in the process of making) multiple trades, how did the brewers and phillies win their last 2 games? 

if you're the yankees, redsox, white sox and blue jays, how scared are you of the twins?  do jays fans believe there is ANY hope left for this season?

if carlos zambrano was rumored to be on the trade market, would every team in the AL playoff chase kill to get him?....as their DH? if he ended up with the yankees, he'd get the nickname "the great zambini".  talk about original.

if it's 90 degrees outside, how in the world can my feet be cold?

on that note, i think i'll stop thinking now...or at least stop typing what i'm thinking.
