Angels (Moseley) at Indians (Sowers) First 5 Innings -130: Jeremy Sowers only gave up two runs on one hit against the White Sox last week, but he did surrender five walks. Even so, walks haven't been a big problem in Sowers' career, as he only gave up 20 BBs in 88.1 IP at the big-league level last year, and he walked 29 batters in 97.1 IP at AAA. Sowers also posted a 1.1 WHIP at AAA, along with a very respectable 1.19 WHIP in the majors. On the other hand, Angels' starter Dustin Moseley had a 1.44 WHIP in AAA last year. Even though Moseley had a good outing against the A's last week, Oakland was struggling with hitting at the time. Also, take the first-five-innings line on this game, as the Cleveland bullpen is bad enough to cough up a late-inning lead.
Phillies (Moyer) at Mets (Glavine) -150: Although Jamie Moyer pitched well in a win against the Marlins last week, the 44-year-old's numbers have been declining since the end of the 2003 season. Last year, he posted a 4.31 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 211. 1 IP. Meanwhile, Tom Glavine's been resurgent since 2003, and he had his best year with the Mets last season. In two starts so far this year, Glavine has a 2.38 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. Also, if this game's close heading into the late innings, the Mets have an advantage over the Phillie's awful bullpen.

Clippers (+3) at Lakers: The Clippers have lost their last three games SU and ATS, but they're all explainable. On Tuesday, they went to overtime against a Hornets squad that's very good at home, and that was just a night after losing by ten points to the mighty Mavs, who were in the process of clinching home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. And on Saturday night, the Clippers led most of the way against the red-hot Nuggets, but they lost by three points after the Nuggets came back in the 4th quarter. In the eight games prior to this mini-slide, the Clippers were 7-1 SU and ATS, and that includes an eight-point win over the Lakers on April 4. The Lakers have been struggling badly, as they're 2-6 SU in their last eight games, and a dismal 3-14-1 ATS in their last 18 games. As a result, it's hard to explain why the Lakers are three-point favorites in this one.
