Roy Williams should just shut up before he gets himself hurt.(by the bears)

Wednesday, September 13, 2006, 10:37 PM EST [General]

Who the hell does Roy Williams think he plays for, i sure as hell know its not a good enough team to gaurantee victory over anybody, let alone the best defense in football. Now, when bears players such as Lance Briggs, Muhsin Muhammed, Alex Brown, and Olin Kreutz were asked about it they downplayed it with the usual "well take care of business on Sunday" or "No big deal, just frustration after losing a tight game to Seattle", but you know defensive players love to get pumped up for games, and if this isnt bulletin board material, then what is. Now as a Bears fan this just irks me because it is a recurring theme around football that the Bears are an overrated, all defense, no offense team with too much swagger. People wont give them props for a shutout against the pack, but get this:This is the first time Brett Favre has been shutout in his career, and he has a rediculous 70 something winning percentage against the Bears. Any shutout against any team in the NFl is a huge accomplishment. People hail the ravens for a shutout against the Raiders, but they dont realize that the Raiders are not a team. Moss is not on par with brooks, brooks was sacked nine times AND JERRY PORTER WAS LAUGHING AND PUMPING IS FIST ON THE SIDELINES, this is not a team, it is a rehab clinic, anyway this isnt the main point. If i recall correctly, the last time a player gauranteed victory is all of sports was Rasheed Wallace, and look what happened to him. Now WHEN the Lions lose, i hope they get slaughtered and Roy gets laid out like Marcus Pollard did last year by Mike Brown in one of their two losses to the Bears. (Check it out on YouTube.com, its awesome.) The game better be on national TV so yall can witness a historic ass-whooping. Peace out, give it up for your 2006 Super-Bowl champs, the Bears.(and no this aint a gurantee)

Marlins are so good that their coach just has to be fired

Wednesday, August 30, 2006, 07:26 PM EST [General]

Arent the marlins just a wonderful story. It is refreshing to see a team like the Marlins, the Anti-Yankees, succeed, albeit in a lackluster league aside from the New York Mets( I maintain no team besides the Mets would be close to a playoff birth in the AL). I havent heard anything about Miguel Cabrera for MVP (with a line of .338/23/98), or Dan Uggla for Rookie of the Year(with a line of 296./21/79). Hanley Ramirez has potential to be a 20-25 hr hitter with 50+ stolen bases, this year he has 12 and 42. With the pitching staff they have they can be good for a while, Willis,Johnson,Nolasco, and other good youngsters, along with a vastly underrated closer in Dave Borowski. The Marlins have written book on winning a lot and doing it in the cheapest fashion possible. This franchise would be scary-good if they had any fan support to help out the payroll. Imagine this team with one or two marquee free agents, i know i would be scared. And how do you award a top notch manager for an espy worthy performance like this one, you allegedly fire him and rehire him right away. Go-Figure. Jeffry Loria, get out of town.

What happened to good old American basketball?

Sunday, July 16, 2006, 10:12 AM EST [General]

America has always been known as the basketball capital of the world. Nobody in their right mind picks the Euro-League over the NBA. Any kid with an imagaination imagined himself dunking on the likes of Shaq or Zo at least once. My point is clear, the NBA is where any baller strives to be.

I dont know why, but it seems that the US is determined as losing its identity as a unique country in regards to the way we play basketball. Our type of game with superstars that pour in thirty points per game, and tons of isolation plays and one on basketball, not teams designe dto have solid players that put in fifteen per o a good night. But with recent assembly of the US national team by Collangelo and Duke's coach( I wont bother trying to spell it), our team's structure seems more plain, more boring, more Europian. There was a reason that Spurs/Pistons games wont get as good ratings as say, a Mavs- Heat game. The reason is that Americans like the game played the way we have played the game, and until last olympics, dominated it, the American way.

The US team should live true to its players and take advantage of the tremendous talent that we have here in America. Allen Iverson should have been the first player invited to the US team, no questions asked, and not just for his talent, but for his heart. While other superstars selected not to play in the last olympics, he came willingly and gave it his all, while Larry Brown held the team back from playing the way we all know they could have played, the American way, if there still is such a thing.
