Sometimes I think it must be me! I must be the one who is different. Is nobody out there in the land of blog as outraged as I am about the way Tony Dungey managed that football game last night. Why didn't he just forfeit the game and save everybody the trouble.
Now, what really pisses me off was the fact that the game was so bad my wife didn't want to watch it after the 1st quarter and I had to watch this ridiculous chick flick with Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt about this advertising guy who could read women's minds. I actually might have enjoyed the movie if I wasn't so pissed off at Dungy for all but conceding the game at the 20 minute mark.
Once or twice a year my wife and I go to a Tampa Bay Bucs game (this year only once). Between the cost of the tickets, parking fees, refreshments, dinner afterwards and the cost of gasoline, these events cost me about $300. If I paid that same $300 to go to the Colts game last night, I would have been beside myself with anger. I can't understand why everyone who did attend the game isn't as pissed off as I am and all it cost me was a wasted Sunday night.
Maybe it's because of the Saturday night game that I was so dissapointed in last night. Tom Coughlin and Bill Belichick gave us all our moneys worth in basically a meaningless game as far as the playoffs are concerned. Tony Dungy was quoted last week as saying "Don't expect any help from us if you need it, do it yourself". Now I know that isn't the exact quote, but I am too lazy to bother looking it up.
I have spent a good portion of the morning reading Ed Hardimann's self ritcheous rant and the comments about the about the Patriots "tarnished" season. Maybe he needs to write one about Dungey; after all did he not cheat us last night?
