Full time at 1-0 to Canada. Had one last good chance with Jackson driving it across the six for Gerba, who needed another half-step. Still, I could care less about the result, and I’d much rather see us building a foundation for the future by putting our youngest on the pitch as much as possible.

Josh Simpson in for De Jong -- whole different ball game. Finally, we have someone on the pitch with some pace who’s willing to do some running. Simpson carries deep into the final third, wins a throw, and pounces on a subsequent loose ball in the box with a sharply struck side-foot volley that Ricketts did well to parry away. Best sequence of play so far -- either way.

Zeros at the half. Quite uninspiring, as both sides look tired -- wish ours had an actual reason to be tired . . .
