WHY EAGLES FANS HATE COWBOY FANS

Monday, August 25, 2008, 09:13 AM EST [Dallas Cowboys]

I want to start this post by saying I have made many fans on foxsports, and most are cowboys fans, so if this doesnt apply to you, dont take it to heart.

There are good fans, and bad fans that root on their respective fans, but Dallas holds a special place in Eagles fans hearts.  Call it what you may, but the two organizations and theyre respective fan bases are the complete opposite. Here's my take on it, Philly has always been viewed as a blue collar, "dirty" city by most around the states.  Dallas, with alot of help from a certain sitcom from the 80's is painted as a gleaming city with a white collar atmosphere, mind you, I grew up in philly, and have never been to dallas, so I truly dont know if thats the case, we're talking perception here.  Philly had the vet, the most notorious of stadiums with rats the size of small dogs running rampant through it.  Dallas has its stadium with a hole in the roof because according to dallas fans, GOD wants to watch his favorite team.  Philly has never won a superbowl, Dallas has 5, and every chance a cowboys fan gets he or she point that out to philly fans.

If a cowboys fan were to go to a game in the old vet donning their teams colors, they would be heckled, booed, spit on, beer poured on, and probably physically abused.  If an eagles fan were to go to a dallas game, they would be greeted politely with a "good luck".  That makes it all the worse for a foaming at the mouth eagles fan.  The nerve afterall of being polite to the enemy.  Anyway, its just my perspective, and I'm mature enough to understand the differences between the 2.

Michael Irvin was once interviewed in the Philadelphia International Airport, he was wearing a bear skin full lenght fur coat, and some cheesey glasses, he told the reporter that he hated coming to philly, and that we shouldnt even be in the same class as the cowboys, take that little nugget, and the Jimmy Johnsons similar comments, and you can see how people get pelted with battery filled snowballs.  How would you have acted, being told your city was a cesspool?  That your beloved team was nothing,  and not in the same class as "americas team"?

Just food for though guys and gals,

    NFC EAST PRESEASON

Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 11:49 AM EST [Philadelphia Eagles]

HELLO ONCE AGAIN FOOTBALL HOOLIGANS, THE QUESTION TODAY IS, WHAT HAS THE NFC EAST SHOWN US IN THE PRESEASON?  MIND YOU, I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THAT THE PRESEASON MEANS LITTLE TO NOTHING, OR DOES IT?  WHEN THE FIRST STRING IS OUT ON THE FIELD, THEY ARE EXPECTED TO PLAY AT A HIGH LEVEL, OF COURSE TUNING IT DOWN A BIT TO AVOID INJURIES, BUT A HIGH LEVEL NONETHELESS.  SO HERE I GO.

WASHINGTON:  CAMPBELL AND HIS CORE OF OFFENSIVE WEAPONS SEEM TO BE MESHING VERY NICELY AND ADAPTING VERY WELL TO THE NEW OFFENSIVE SCHEMES THAT ARE IN PLACE.  THE DEFENSE SEEMS TO BE PLAYING AT A HIGHER CALIBER AND A BIT FASTER THAN LAST SEASON.

DALLAS:  ON PAPER THE BEST NFC TEAM, BUT QUESTIONS REMAIN.  WILL PACMAN BE ABLE TO PLAY?  WILL T.O. KEEP HIS COMPOSURE THROUGH ANOTHER SEASON?  WILL ROMO MATURE INTO THE PLAYMAKER THAT JERRY JONES THINKS HE WILL BE?

GIANTS:  WELL, THE FIRST PRE SEASON GAME MAY HAVE MADE N.Y. A LITTLE NERVOUS, BUT THE SECOND ONE WAS AN ASS BEATING BEING HANDED OUT BY THE GMEN, THE D CAME BACK TOGETHER, AND ELI COULDNT MISS.

EAGLES:  HOT AND COLD, MCNABB'S PLAY WAS SPORATIC, DESHAWN JACKSON IS QUIETLY BECOMING A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH, BUT THIS IS A COIN FLIP TO SAY THE LEAST.

    NFC EAST FORECAST

Wednesday, August 13, 2008, 05:09 PM EST [NFL]

Hello once again everyone, I have decided to give my opinion on how I see the NFC East playing out this year.  I took certain variables into consideration, including but not limited to, strength of schedule, age of key players on every respective team, and of course, a 5 year history.

Dallas Cowboys:  Nfc east champions 12 & 4

Put the torches down eagles faithful, Lets give credit where its due, the cowboys are for real, simply put on paper they're the best team in our division, if not our entire conference.  The offensive firepower they wield alone is more than enough to average over 28 points a game.  With the additions of Pacman jones on defense playing corner ( a glaring weakness last year) the Cowboys should hypothetically win the east this upcoming year.

The only way I see the cowboys regressing this year vs. last year, is one of two key factors, Tony Romo Regressing, or multiple injuries to the likes of T.O. or the ultimate cowboy playmaker Whitten.

    Philadelphis Eagles:  10 & 6

The Eagles season rest squarely on the shoulders of their number one playmaker, no, not Mcnabb, Westbrook, this team will rise and fall with Westbrook being the premier playmaker that he has become, and in my opinion, the number one running back in the NFL.  Mcnabb's health is always a concern, but lets be real folks, we all know whether you like #5 or not, that he had no business playing last year, less than half a year removed from major knee surgery.  With all that being said, strength of schedule favors Philly heavily, after finishing dead last in 2007 in their division.  Westbrook cant do it all alone though, there are 22 starters that need to step up, including Reggie Brown, who in my opinion has been dissapointing.  Also look for better field position with the acquisition of Deshawn Jackson.

How it will all fall apart. If Mcnabb gets knocked out of commission with yet another injury, Kolb is simply not ready to take over the role of starter, and Westbrook can no longer carry the eagles on his back alone.

    New York Giants:  8-8

In my humble opinion, I think the cinderella story is about to end for the Gmen in NY.  The clock is about to strike twelve for our beloved brethren in Blue.  There are just too many minuses in the lineup, say what you will about Shockey, but the man is a playmaker, and he will thrive in New Orleans.  Take that with the subtraction of Strahan, and of course the constant whining of Plaxico in camp, and you have the ultimate let down in this team.

    Washington Redskins:  8-8

I know, they look great in the preseason, adapting nicely to the new offensive schemes, but its only preseason, dont read too much into anything at  this point.  I still think the skins will be a good team, and in any other division, they could probably be a 10 and 6 team, but not in the east.  I think it will take at least 2 seasons to gel with the new schemes and complex offenses that are being run.

X factor:  Can Clinton  Portis stay healthy the entire season?  Can Jason Campbell become the true pocket passer he longs to be?  Too many variables here folks.

In the end, the HEALTHIEST team by week 12 or 13 can take the division.
