Eli and the Giants Fantastic Finish!

Monday, February 4, 2008, 03:40 AM EST [Eli Manning]

Back to back Mannings winning the Super Bowl is unbelievable.  No one real thought that the Giants could pull off the Super Bowl.  Most didn't even think they could beat the Cowboys let alone the Packers and Patriots as well.

The Giants defense beat QBs Romo, Favre, and Brady to finish off a tremendous road record and rode it all the way to winning the Super Bowl.
    yes sirrrr
Eli followed his brothers footsteps by winning the Super Bowl MVP as well.  Now for Eli the pressure is off.  The monkey that was put on his back because he was a Manning in New York, was taken away yesterday in Arizona.

It had been 17 years already since the Giants last won the Super Bowl with the "big Tuna" so I was happy for the city of New York and the Giants organization.  I always like to see a new team win a Championship every once in a while.  Although the end of the game was kind of weird.

What a great finish to the Super Bowl and very fitting of Eli to win it late in the fourth quarter.  I think I have always looked at him as a fourth quarter QB.  Not all that special in quarters 1-3 but when it matters and many times on the road he has come through.  The polar opposite of Lions QB John Kitna.

The 1972 Dolphins make it one more year as the only team to go undefeated and win the Super Bowl.  Although the 2007 Patriots won 18 in a row they didn't win the only one that really counts.
