    cleveland? CLEVELAND ?? Realy????

Thursday, April 16, 2009, 05:20 PM EST [General]

JokersWild must be tickled like Bubba when the dentist came back and said "believe or not, no cavities. And your insurance covers cleanings no matter the size of the ivory's"

Yes folks, The Cleveland Indians rocked the Yankees like Joker rocks out to ABBA. Oh what a beat down, 10 to 2 kinda beat down. Should have covered them with dirt and said a prayer kinda beat down.

Like I said to my ABBA rocking buddy not to long ago, theres some talent there. Cliff Lee talent!! Cliff gave the Indians 6 innings, giving up 1 measley run with 4 strikeouts. Not bad?

Talent like Victor Martinez 3 for 6 and 2 runs. How bout Grady Sizemore? Can you say Grand Salami? Grady can!!!!! Shoppach and Piralta both got 2 hits and 2 ribby's.  And Crowe even went 2 for 4, hell, I dont even know who this Crowe cat is, but I liked him today.

The beauty part of this is that CC Sebathia had just as good of a day going as Cliff Lee and Girardi took him out and then the runs came down upon him.

This could be that turning point game for the Tribe. I stand by the statements I made at the start of the season, theres talent in Cleveland and they could win some ball games before it's all over.

Now thats the way to open the new Stadium !! HA !!!

    MLB Power Rankings ?

Saturday, April 11, 2009, 07:44 AM EST [General]

I'm more perplexed than Dangerous Fatman when confronted with a Tofu menu. Has anyone taken a look at the Fox MLB power rankings? Yankees are #1? Not from my seats. The Yankees, fresh off of their beat down to the Baltimore Orioles, where their hired guns were rendered silent, are sitting at #1 in the rankings whilst sitting 3rd in their division. How does this make sense?

You can't blame the O's for being upbeat after their series win over the Yanks. But what's it mean? Bob Klapisch has the answers.

Meanwhile, Mike Greenspire and the other Pirate fans will be thrilled to know that their ranked second to last even though they just took two from the Cardinals and there are still two winless teams, Nationals and Indians who are ranked 26th and 15th respectively. The 3-2 Mariners occupy the last position??

I can only assume that we are still taking into account last year's performance. No that will not work, The Yankees were 3rd in their division and the Nationals were just as bad last year as they are now. Also, if last year weighed heavy into to it, the Mets 2-2 would not be as high as a #5?

Maybe, just maybe, it's the "promise" of things to come?  But then I would have to believe that the Yankees are the best in the American league and that The Brave are the fourth best team in the National league. I don't. And to rank the Indians 15th after last years performance, and a 0-4 start to this one? Is JokersWild in charge of these rankings?

Lastley, the Phillies are atop the NL East after that rough start to they got off to with the Braves. Huh? #3 in the League? Their # 4 in their division.

If the Phillies are to win another World Series, Cole Hamels will have to be better than he was in Friday's debut, Tracy Ringolsby says.

I took these rankings from the current Standings page. The power rankings page goes back to April 6 and I didnt want to try to figure those out LOL.

    Promising ???

Thursday, April 9, 2009, 06:32 PM EST [General]

Man I'm more pissed off than JokersWild when that guy Blue@Orange knocks him outta the top spot on the "Most Commented". Heck, I'm probably more pissed off than Joker was when he read that opening line.

I kept hearing how my Mets sured up the ole bull pen, how with the addition of Putz and K-Rod, all our problems of last season were over. Well, their not. After all, what is it that makes a team go to their bull pen anyway?

Ding Ding Ding, you guessed it! Poor efforts on behalf of your starter's. Johny, tell them what theyve won. Yup, the bullpen hasn't given up a run through the first 3 games, but our starters sure have.

Which starters you ask?  Mike Pelfrey, he of the 4 runs in 5 innings game yesterday, or how bout Oliver Perez and that gem today, 8 runs in 4 innings. Those starters, those two starters who have so much PROMISE. Those two with promising stuff! That's what I was told.

Hell, I promised the wife that this was the year I would remember our annivercary. Yeah, that happened too. The problem with promise is that it cant locate your pitches or put movement on your fastball or get your wife off your back when said promise is not kept.

There is one thing in all this that makes me happier than BleedsP&G at an Obama rally, and that is that you never have to worry about about a fourth place team collapsing in September. Like this blog?  Just wait until John Maine(fresh off surgery) and Livan Hernandez (50 years old) get the next 2 Mets starts!!!! I should be more pissed off than Nique when we used to call her Dusty, by then....
