Luis Scola, of the Euroleague, signed a deal with the Rockets today. He happens to be one of Europe's best players. I honestly don't know that much about him, but I'm excited for him and for the Rockets.
Coach Adelman said of him, "What I saw on tape was someone who's always moving and always active. He plays hard. That's what really impressed me."
"He's going to be a great attribute to Yao," Adelman said. "The more passers and more scorers that you have on the floor, the harder you are to defend. He really fits that bill. I just thinks it's going to be easy for him. I showed him a tape earlier of what we like to do and he fits right in there. The biggest adjustment is probably going to be at the defensive end, which it is for every young person in the NBA."
I would like to know: Is there a more dominant center in the league right now than Yao Ming? I mean seriously? Some might say, he is not physical enough, or he gets winded to easy, or he can't play in transition, or something else. I say look at Yao's stats.......
POINTS PER GAME 25.1 (1st among centers)
REBOUNDS PER GAME 9.6
FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE 50.7%
FREE THROW PERCENTAGE .858
What current center compares with that?
Now I'm not saying the guy is the greatest ever, cause I know he's not. Not even close. I think he is a little bit under rated though. I also know the Rockets have a very slim chance of winning a championship this year. Is it that unrealistic or crazy to think they can? Maybe. I'm a believer though.
