When I typed the very first word on my very first blog I was filled with anticipation and hope. Finally, I thought after all these years of trying to find a real sports dialogue (since 93) on the internet here was that opportunity. NBA chat rooms were full of ignorant immature children (regardless of age) screaming nonsense and not being a person inclined to spend every dime I have in a "Sports Bar" I longed for the opportunity to actually talk the game I love with others like me. Surely there must be some people with enough maturity and intelligence to simply talk the game that I saw out there.
No, it wasn't necessary that they agree with me on every player and certainly I didn't expect everyone to like the same team I like. But I did think that since Fox had taken the trouble to name their blogs the SPORTS blogs that this would different than the mindless drivel that seems to permeate the internet. I was wrong. From blog one it's been nothing but either absolutely no response to KOBE IS A BLEEP to YOU SUCK and for every single rational interaction there have been five of those.
And if that wasn't bad enough, the lack of condemnation by other adults for someone like this evil demented person "X Rooster" who harasses and stalks, threatens and spams anyone who dares disagree with him, this lack of concern among supposedly mature adults to not step up and shun the likes of him and instead demand that I "conform" his childish behaviour? Not in a million years.
And the proliferation of non sports clique like behavior on Fox? No thanks. This site is not about sports. It's about hating on outsiders and making sure that true sports fans don't get equal time because otherwise the chatters can't waste their entire existance away can't be "blog stars": while doing it. When I click on the blog front page I wanted to see sports. Instead I find people bragging about their sexual conquests, people hating on other people, religious freaks, blogs of the day more often than not about bikini models and everything possible in between with the singular exception of sports.
I'm not interested. I'm interested in writing about sports, reading what others have to say about sports and spending my retirement years doing what I have said all my adult life that I would one day be able to do. Relaxing and doing so within the framework of what I love and that is the NBA. You can't even find someone on Fox SPORTS with a like interest because the clique chatters in the Fox system doesn't allow for it. They allow this clique and the childish immature haters to dominate.
I'm moving my tent elsewhere. I understand the vermin of this blog will rejoice in "running another one off". You think you've accomplished something but all you've done is make yet more of the world uninhabital by decent people. Just more of the dumbing down of America.
But remember this, if any of you are bright enough to understand it. I beat you at your own game. I got a blog of the day by doing exactly what you do. Creating hate and dissension and getting four times the number of hits I ever got writing about sports. And I did it without being in a clique. Which means I'm not only more intelligent than the "pack mentality" of so many of you, I went out on my own terms. Nobody ran me out. I turned my back on your immaturity. You'll have to find a new villian to hate on. But I know this much. As long as each and everyone of you live you WILL remember the name DustyLaker. I've imprinted every one of you.
