I WISH I HAD TIME FOR NASCAR
Oct 03, 2008 | 9:22PM | report this

Let me tell you about my day.  I woke up this morning in pain as usual.  I limped, moaned and groaned my way to the pain killer bottle and popped a handful.  Then my sinus drainage started and I went on the back porch and hacked, gagged, and threw up for about 15 minutes.  I cleaned my face and went back to bed.  Slept, tossed and turned, for a couple hours, wanting the pain to go away.  Finally had enough and made myself get up and face the day.

Around noon I saw the mail truck out front.  My heart raced, anxiety came up, and I checked the mail-there was my letter-the letter that informs me of my disability benefits-I walked into the bedroom and turned off the tv that my wife was watching without saying a word to her.  I hit my knees as I realized others don't have knees to hit.  I placed my hand on the BIBLE as I realized others don't have a hand to place.  I said my prayer and showed my wife the envelope without either of us saying a word.  When she saw what I was holding, she simply asked,"It's here?"

We opened it up and she could read the expression on my face as I read the letters of the alphabet containing DENIED....

Just something to think about-thank you for your time-GOD BLESS

X, my heart breaks for you and the other veterans in similar situations. Rest assured you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

You and me both, brother.
I dropped on in at the gun range @ lunch time and popped off 250 rounds of 40 cal.

It's taken 200 rounds to finally make me comfortable with my sidearm!

Now I need to find a backup!

X, I heard of an attorney in San Diego that has worked helping both current and retired Marines in legal matters. I wish I could think of the attorney's name. This attorney worked in acquitting four Marines stationed at Camp Pendleton of murder while they were stationed in Iraq.

husker-I wish you would pull up in my driveway someday with that 40 cal-somehow I do believe we would go have some fun-lol

a li'l story-one of my best nights in the Marines was a training exercise in N Carolina-I found out the fun way that you can fire an M60 with your left hand and feed the belt with your right while yelling and grinning and running all at the same time at 0300 hours-all blanks of course-lol-yeah that used to be what I called fun-till I went to war

David, you have Fox mail. They say 98% are returned "Denied" and it could be that one line wasn't right. Now get a lawyer and let them earn 33 1/3 %. It sucks but you almost have to.

Take care. Contact your Congressmen/women before you contact a lawyer.

Dave, You need to feed off the pain with God, He kept you around for a reason and at this moment you will say why and for what for and if you follow his will it will all come back to you.

poem with your own words and mine.

As my heart raced as the anxiety took hold of me,
As I fell down to my knees, I pray for those with no knees
As I placed my hand on the Bible, I pray for those who don't have hands to place on the Bible.
As I pray to God to give me the strength to over come what is ment to be in the letter. I can only change what is in my hands to change and let God know no matter how many envelopes I open, I can not be Denied my God.

Cheers, Check your fox mail in a few minutes from this time of post.
Godbless..

I'd say at this juncture to follow volfan's suit. But I sincerely doubt that they'd be of much help . They're the same ones who've all but paid you guys lip service but at the same time have most definitely ignored your plight. A lawyer whose speciality in this area would be your best bet. And along the way get your local news media involved. That'll also assist you in the situation I believe.

X- Take some heart in knowing that the system is built to be impossible but perserverance and resubmitting usually works, at least in CA. There are usually free disability/legal aid centers in every city. Here is a link to the one in SF that might help you find one in your town...

Ahh...Yes... X the Fuggin gov has 850 billion to buy out banks. Yet the leave the great men and women like you, "ThankYou" having to wait and fight for bennifits. From the war they wanted you to fight.
My thoughts and prayers are with you to get through a day. To be able to fight for what is owed you. My friend thankyou for sharing your pain. I wish we could take it form you.

Hey X.....I'm gonna go against the grain here....I've never heard of a Marine losing hope....Grab your boot straps here.....Its gonna take some strength to get through the maze of hurdles.....That inner strength that all troops have.....You need to call on it now.....So many times that inner strength has really helped me get through some bad times.....and realize that all is not lost because I'm not six feet under....

Karma paid a visit to the man that created the Anthrax vaccine.....Now we just have to wait until it stops by to visit the fools that rushed it through the development process...

The whole deal is much bigger than all of us think....when Bush's cronies are ousted....thats when Karma is going to take care of troops like yourself....

Welcome to the world of GOP economics. As someone that has seen similar letters, as someone that dreads reading most of the mail coming in these days, I understand and feel your pain.

I have to sleep in a chair to keep breathing at night, but I am still breathing!

I have to pop pills all day just to hold my kids, but I do it anyway.

I am so sick of seeing family members and close family friends going through the same thing.

Change is coming my friend.

Wrench-you are right-thank you-most people don't want to know what I think or would do-thank you-a disgruntled Marine with weapons and explosives background-there is a headline I don't want-I won't do anything stupid-they just try to make it so dammed hard on veterans-this is bigger than me-there is a reason-

Shorty:

As I have said before "You are not alone". Many have similar issues or ailments. Time to plan your agenda. An attorney specializing in Social Security is your only bet for now. That takes the burden off your shoulders.

This gives you the energy to pursue your other priorities and life. Trust your aliments to the Lord. He will not burden you with more than you can handle. Many people have just as hard a time with life as you do.

As WW said. Time to pull up your boot straps and over come the pain.

photo-yessir-and many have it worse than I do-I am gathering ammo for a new battle plan-not literally folks, it means I am gathering info and intell in military jargon---I am preparing myself for a war with our own government that I never asked for, nor wanted-nor want anyone else to have to do-let me put it in perspective-I got the livin' #### knocked out of me in the boxing ring - I'm back up and ready for the next round...to be continued
