I love talking with all of you. I enjoy your viewpoints, whether or not I agree with them, it's refreshing, and it is my outlet. I try not to start a fight or argument. One war was enough for me. I'd like to take the time to say thank you to those of you who have taken the time to write about, answer, read, and sometimes enjoy what I have written. I thank you all.----
But I can't always keep my mouth shut.
In less than 10 hours I get to talk to a psychologist about why I'm angry, depressed, irritated, and why my brain's broke-I get a half hour of his precious time.
I spent 7 years in the Marines, 6 months in THE FIRST GULF WAR, 4 days of ground war where we slept with one eye open, 3 months in a VA hospital trying to figure out why I was dying, 1 year in a back brace, totally disabled, and told that I could never continue the life I knew---I get 30 minutes to explain to a government appointed doc-I'm fine with that.
Do you know why I'm fine with that? Because it aint just about me- It's for those that can't still fight- It's for those that never could- It's for those that never had a chance-
I'm still fighting to make a difference- And yes I'm asking for your help-
IF YOU BELIEVE IN THIS COUNTRY, TALK TO ME-IF NOT ----GET THE HELL OUT-
Do you spend American dollars and coins? It's printed and stamped on bills and coins-
"IN GOD WE TRUST"- If you don't like it-------LEAVE IT- GET OUT-PERIOD
NEXT........I love you all-that's why I fought-please bear with me and if you have it in your heart-send up a prayer for those kids and men still fighting-they need it-and if you find an extra one, send it up for me and the psychologist-Thank you
X.....thank you for your service, I as well ate some of that very same sand in 1991. I have been sick since. Sore tired run down, angry one second you would think my head was going to explode...happy the next and maybe crying and sad for a time after that.. there is NEVER any ryme or reason. I was told I was given shot to protect me from ANTHRAX without my knowledge mind you as I'm guessing you already know this. then I was told they filed my shot records in the trash. and that I basically have to just live with it. Well I hope your time with that shrink helps you my friend. I have definatly said a prayer for you..(and myself) *winks* along with the rest of our brothers and sisters in harms way. may it be over soon. anyways thanks for making these blogs and for listening to me rave on. semper fi brother see you again soon,Peace>>>
Shorty, you know we vets stick together. I think that some of these people don't know exactly what happened to you, and that we have a BONA FIDE AMERICAN HERO, right here at Fox, to talk to. To read his stories and poetry. Audie Murphy and you could be the two top heroes we ever had.
Give Xbulrdr you time and thanks people. He's one reason we sit here and can squabble over Beanie Wells and TO, not to mention refs lol.
God of the ages,
We thank You for all who have served in the armed forces of this country.
We thank You for the freedom their sacrifice has earned and guarded for us. Help us to prize this freedom and use it well.
We ask You to bless all living veterans in a special way today, as well as the families of all veterans.
Comfort those who grieve for those who gave the last full measure of devotion.
Strengthen those who bear physical, emotional, and spiritual wounds.
Stand with those who provide care to them.
Move us to reach out to sisters and brothers who are veterans, or relatives of veterans, or who currently serve in the military.
We pray for the day when no one needs to serve in the military. Help us to live now in anticipation of that day, as people who long for peace, who pray for peace, and who seek to be peacemakers in this world.
Guard-thank you for your time and service-I'll tell you what I know and don't know-
I know I followed orders and stood in line with fellow Marines to get our shots...
I don't know what they were for...
I know I stood in line with all my fellow Marines to take some pills in the desert...
I don't know for sure what the pills were, because I have no solid proof, but we all took them...
I can tell you this-if you don't feel right-see the vet rep in your county at the court house-listen to him-go to the VA-find out the name of your Congressman or Congresswoman-contact them-it won't be easy to get through all this-I haven't contacted my Congressman yet- I had to do that in '93-my x wife made the calls while I was in the VA hospital-you take care-I'll try to help if you need it
Xbulrdr, you service to our country is greatly appreciated. I hope the negitive talk by some doesn't sway you from how most feel about our service men and women. Thank you from my entire being.
All I can really say is thanks for serving. I appreciate it, my family appreciates it and my friends appreciate it. Wish we could do something to ease your pain.
Thank You for what you have done for me and others to be free. I have done a GGW Racing car in your honore and was going to display it in with some others in a race coming up. Maybe this will make your day. Hope you like it.
Cheers Shorty!

Between friends and family, we have lost 2 sons, 1 grandson and 1 grandaughter. three came back with serious injuries, but they got back.
Thank YOU! and all who fight for us. I look forward the end of this and that all our men and women come home to a country that loves and wants them here.
Keep up with the Psych. I think, if nothing else, he/she is someone you can vent to.
God Bless.

I know where you're coming from on that score. I've just returned from London where my younger brother having been sent home for the birth of his twin daughters immediately had to return back to Iraq. It's been his fourth tour of duty there since we entered as allies alongside the US.
That in ofitself to me is cause for concern even with so many men and women having to be rotated in and out of the mayhem that has taken place there.
I did my time also in the military with the British Royal Marines having served during the violence that took place in Ireland. When the IRA was rampant and killing indiscriminately. Much of what you may well have witnessed in Iraq , I saw firsthand myself when I was serving in Ireland during the early eighties. And even when I left there to go elsewhere as a member of the military in such far flung places as Mauritania , Chad , Cyprus and Eritrea. Some of those images never really left me.
So the fact that you came out of it alive I for one am thankful. The experience itself never really goes away. As it sometimes can be akin to an ongoing nightmare of unimaginable proportions. I commend you on your resolve and hope that you're able to recuperate.
I can only echo the sentiments of the others here most humbly....Thank-you from the bottom my heart for serving in the military for our country so that we may enjoy the every day freedom's we all take for granted.
I couldn't begin to fathom what you carry on a daily basis and yet I can readily admit I am far from perfect...so I can only imagine what you dealin wit in terms of bad memories.
That being said I attempt to fight the war we all fight with the resources allocated to me on a daily basis by meeting, treating and greeting all types of people with respect and dignity unless otherwise noted-this by no means compares to what you are illustrating but one must go with what one has, right?
Judge me by the content of my character and I will return the favor everytime.
Control what you can control. Do the right thing. Utilize a heart full of grace in all your actions. It is the fight we all fight!
Be well my comrades! Peace!

justanotherfan-I know what I did was nothing in comparison to what others have gone through-You and others have gone through more hell than I ever dreamed of-
Your brother having twin daughters, having to go back, 4th tour-I can't imagine that grief Sir-
I respect you and The British Royal Marines.
What I went through was nothing compared to what others have gone through-what you have been through-what your brother has been through-
I just wish they would have told us to put on a danged gas mask that was right there on our side.
thank you for your time sir.
photo-it's been a long, hard couple of days- I aint been real happy today-but people have given me some insight here after I left the doc. I know I aint alone and others got it worse- just aggravated and frustrated-but I wait for The Lord's Answer

That's why wars are fought by brave men and women who've a duty and honor to uphold. All the while the politicians make political gristle and sound bytes out of it all. Were they to ever think first rather than spout off at the mouth then I for one might give 'em the benefit of the doubt.
See my posts on the NFL and some other sundry topics. Let me know what you think as to the merits of the pieces in question ? Just click on the texts to view each piece in their entirety.
Gerrel-I thank you very much-I wish you and yours health and prosperity-I did not mean all the attention to come to me-somehow I want people to understand-it's not ME------------------SOMETHING WENT HAYWIRE IN MY POST
I WANT TO DRAW ATTENTION TO THOSE WHO STILL NEED HELP-------and I got a bit mad-please forgive me
REDSOX-I love that statement-"Judge me by the content of my character"-That means so much in this world-especially when you are in a bunker, in war, and can't see your hand in front of your face.

Hey Shorty I fired the guy that does the names on my cars.lol. Thats what happens when you rush them threw the detail shop.
God bless with hope for better days my friend.

Hey X, I totally agree, this place sure does inspire a positive attitude.
Bloggers like Tophatal, Jokers Wild, Guard amp 88, and yourself to name a few.....They treat everyone the same and didn't have the "ignor the new person" attitude.
I love a good laugh, just some of the screen names have me rollin, Phil MaHinney with a avatar of a whopper bootey, classic, creative humor.
Then we have this guy who hates everything, the article comment boards, my first posts here were about the Caleb Campbell situation in Detroit, this one poster trashed the military and former military folks in his every post. Coolslayer was one of his names, he pizzed off enough posters that one of them hi-jacked his screen name and totally took it right back to him. I still haven't stopped laughing about it, funny thing is the guy thinks he's a popular poster, all the while most of us just look for him to see how the hi-jacker rattles his cage even more.
This place is better than the shrink, you can get multiple points of view and it isn't costing you $500 an hour.
My son is joining the United States Army right now. He is in a waiting pattern, due to some paperwork, but he expects to go to basic in a week or so. I for one am very proud of him and very greatful to you and all who have served, or will serve.
My father-in-law was in Vietnam in the 1960's. He was part of the "Big Red One". He says one of the difficult things to learn is that while some Americans are burning our flag, you are fighting to provide them the freedom to burn it. However, don't try to burn his flag.
xbulrdr88 - Having never served, I cannot pretend to know what you're going through. Though I know that words alone will never be enough, all I can say is THANK YOU, and THANKS to all who serve and protect our country and our freedom. All our soldiers are never far from my thoughts. I wish you and your family nothing but the best. Always know that you have an outlet here and are surrounded by those who support you and all of our troops. May you find peace and happiness brother.
