Two games today to round out Week #1...a quik look:
Fresno St at Rutgers - 3 1/2
The Knights are going to miss Ray Rice more than they realize....Fresno has a scary offense but plays little or no defence, so this should be closer than some think...but Fresno St wins outright here...
The Pick: Fresno St + 3 1/2
Tennessee at UCLA + 7 1/2
Much as I dislike putting that many points on Tennessee here, I have no choice with the QB issues and new coaching staff at UCLA...UCLA will be OK in time..but this year is shaping up as a mess..
Bottom line here....I'll take a fifth year Sr starter QB in a rivalry game over a soph first year starter any day of the week..only thing stopping this from being a poytential blowout is that Louisville's D is a bit of a mess at the moment...but the spread is only a FG...
The Pick: Louisville -3
Colorado St at Colorado -11
Although Colorado is clearly the better team here right now what with C St changing coaches and systems....but I cannot give away that many points on a rivalry game where the last six have each been decided by less than a touchdown..

Last year Army won the game but over half off their points came on special teams and INT's....that will not happen again....Temple continues to improve while Army continues to spin its wheels: it does not appear the pieces are there for the Army coaching staff to do what it wants to do....Temple should get its revenge.
The Pick: Temple -7
SMU at Rice - 3 1/2
Be sure to put fresh batteries in your calculator for this one....both teams have explosive offences and play little if any defence.....the difference: Rice is much more comfortable with what they are doing than SMU is in the first year of June Jones' system....look for a game in the 60-70 point range with Rice winning by 7-10 points..
