Thoughts on MLB 3/31/08 - Royals/Tigers
Mar 31, 2008 | 9:28AM | report this

Recapping last nights action:

First off I want to acknowledge the comment made to yesterdays blog re Nats bullpen which was 100% correct...the Nats bullpen is solid if not spectacular....my comment re the Nats having no pitching was directed at the rotation rather than the bullpen...

Indeed...the Nats bullpen kept them in it untill the ninth when they were let down by the catcher....but then were bailed out by Zimmerman in the bottomof the ninth....they got the bare minimum from Perez.... who was badly outpitched by Hudson, who after giving up a 2-out 2 strike broken bat single to give the Nats the lead in the 1st did not allow a baserunner the rest of the way....if the Nats starters can't get at least through six innings the bullpen will be burnt out by Memorial Day...

Today's Pick:

I love the Tigers at home over the Royals today...Meche was a pleasant surprise last year after signing what most thought was an absurd free agent contract....but unless he throws a shut out the Royals don't have enough offence to hang with the Tigers....

A possible alternate pick might be the Angels over Minnesota tonight...but with the Angels being on the road the Tigers are the safer pick...

Enjoy everybody!

Yep, dats how the Tigers blow games, nice to see last years trend hasnt let up...we get a lead, then relief help comes in and blows the lead...then the whole batting line-up starts swinging for the fences, instead of just trying to get on base, then add in a timely bloop single and the Royals win...
