Hi Folks...great to see baseball back once again....kind of a lame opener tonight with the Braves opening up Washington's new park...I understand MLB wanting to showcase the new park but still...oh well...
You simply have to like the Braves here...I know the Nats will be jacked for their opener but at best they are the NL's answer to the Texas Rangers...good to great offence if everthing is going right but absolutly no pitching whatsover...
if it is possible to be a sleeper when you have won the division for twelve of the last fourteen years then the Braves are it...that's what you get for playing in a division with a NY team and a Philly Team...both of which have far more vocal media centers then Atlanta...The Braves have addressed their issues with pitching from last year and as long as they stay healthy should be a force...
As noted above...the Nats could have a decent offence if eveything clicks...but they could also blow up big time very easily if there imports continue to have off-field issues...and in any event their roatation is mediocre to horrible, primarily due to inexperience...
Take the Braves.....RL for those who want to minimalize risk...but ML is a safer play tonight because the Nats will be extra pumped up....
Sorry that was an accident. No pitching? We had the best bullpen all last year in the Nl east the problem was that we got off to a bad start that set us back all season.
fans watched the braves all spring, went to 18 of thier games, been a long time fan,20 years,I love the Braves but, what I saw at the end of spring and after tonights game I don't see much change in leadership and coaching for us.The Priates are next for two then the Mets, which we lost to 8-2 spring game,Mets played their subs. The next 20 days days will dictate how we will do,I am tired of this old talk of it is a long season,162 games,it is harder to make ground in Sept them it is to win games NOW,Cox has got to get these players hitting to get on base and advance runner when on base,it as they go to the plate clueless as to pitches possiblities'if it is not their try pitch they do not adapt to the pitcher and either line out or fly out, watch the games, score the games ,you will see,it is a lack of hitter changing their approch t the situration, poor coaching and lack of scouting info giving to the hitter pregame.Braves, I love the team, but the players, offence and defense just don't seem ready again this year to win.Pitching we will see
