Congratulations go out to Gerrel, a rookie this year who
backed up her first week win in the Trifecta hosted by HotfootLori, taking the
Trifecta Returns Home. As impressive as
winning two weeks in a row, Gerrel has done it with remarkable low scores of 16
in both weeks and beat 10 other contestants this week.

This week there will not be a Trifecta. We have the Nationwide Series visiting Nashville,
on Saturday and The Formula1 cars in Kuala Lumpur
Sunday, but I could not find a third race going on anywhere in the world this
weekend. It is just as well though, as
Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and his victory
over sin. I pray you are able to celebrate
with family and friends this weekend and can take at least a few moments
reflecting on what He has done for you.
The Formula 1 race is taking place at Sepang Circuit in Malaysia. This is one of the most beautiful and
spectacular race tracks in the world. It
was designed by Hemann Tilke, A German track designer, who has done others, but
this is definitely my favorite.
I wanted to add a few other photos too. I was not able to post these on Dwindy1’s
post (I can figure out how to do that in a comment) about Tony Stewart and dirt
races, but here are 2 venues that the ARCA series visits, that are Dirt
Illinois State
Fairgrounds
DuQuoin State
Fairgrounds
And here are a few I wanted to share, because I just think
they are cool.
My wife and son shovel while I watch the Atlanta Nationwide race. This was taken almost exactly when Kyle Busch blew his tire and hit the wall.
He looks like he did it all himself
All the snow makes for some really cool tunnels Even if he doesn't make it to the big leagues I am determined to teach my son how to celebrate. (and yes that is his tony stewart hat. i tried for a half hour to get him to take the jeff gordon one, but he wanted tony stewart)
At one time I lived at the 7,000 foot elevation in the Sierra Nevadas for five years. Those snowy pictures remind me of those days... One winter (no kidding) we had 12 feet on the ground at one time... Had to shovel off the roofs for fear of collapse! Big snow blowers kept the roads open but it looked like you were driving in a tunnel with walls up to 15 feet tall on each side... A whole different deal from where I now live in Florida! It was around 80 degrees today with light breeze and wonderful sun light! (Just thought I'd throw that in, lol)...
William - Thanks for the mention in your blog...but I am a she, not a he. Loved your aerial photos of both Australia and the Malayasian GP track.
Boy you are lucky...getting your wife and son the shovel snow while you are watching a race, LOL. ALthough I do believe it is officially spring now. Well in Chicago we are going to kick off spring with a snow storm Friday...although they are only predicting 8 inches, LOL. Has all that snow by you melted yet?
DuQuoin is an awsome track with the arca cars...Love seein them on dirt...Gerrel I am 100 miles west of Chicago and awaiting the snow...Also Noah wants to come play in the tunnels..LOL...Thanks for sharing the pictures..
Sepang really is a beautiful track. That's a great photo of it.
And I'm no expert, ... and she is fairly distant in the photo, but that doesn't exactly appear to be a look of love on your wife's face. It's the NCAA basketball tourney time - my favorite time of the year - and I'm not exactly sure what reaction I'd get if I attempted to replicate this "arrangement", staying inside to watch basketball while my wife shoveled snow. Strike that, I'm actually exactly sure ...
Dwindy1 the snow we have here is nothing compared to Quebec. a guy at work has relatives there who sent pictures, they are shoveling off the roof and the pile goes up to the roof of the house. i think 4 people have died there this winter in Quebec because of roofs collapsing due to snow load. it has been a long, white winter this year. which isn't all bad.
Gerrel. my most humble apologies. i thought i had gone through to make it gender neutral, but it is nearly impossible. We have had rain this week for a few days and its a little easier to see over the snowbanks while driving, but its not all gone yet. i hope you don't get too much snow, and/or it melts quick.
noahspop2001 i've never had the pleasure of seeing DuQuoin, but i've been to syracuse many times. i love fairground tracks. it is roots racing. unfortunatly, the rain has made the tunnels a little narrow, and almost impossible to get through. maybe it will be spring soon.
Dave_in_Indy just for the record that is NOT my picture of sepang. it was easy to find with a internet search.
after being cooped up inside for long periods of time going outside to do whatever actually becomes appealing. i know its hard to imagine.
Great Job Gerrel. She may be a rookie at trifecta but not a rookie in racing. Thanks again William for doing the trifecta, and when I realize its not the one with the most points, look out.lol Happy Easter, I m sure you going to have a great time hidding the eggs for the little one to find.
cheers.
WW- Congrats again goes out to Gerrel who is kicking our butts! =) Too bad GGW isnt racing, it would have been the perfect 3rd race to round out the trifecta this weekend...
Loved the pics of your family...I dont miss the snow one bit (CA/AZ girl here)! Your son really needs to change that hat! LOL
That is some snow storm William. Very smart of you to let the wife do all the shoveling.
What was your excuse? I had a good one here when we got blasted.
Klvalus:
I was feeling feisty and went to buy new light weight jacket at the local NASCAR store. Low and behold they had Last years Tony Stewart jackets on clearance. Couldn't turn down a bargain. Just had to buy one.
Replace the () with "greater than" and "less than" (HTML makes them disappear) and put the address in (in this case: http://www.sportsposterwarehouse.co m/warehouse/dalejramp07bsi-1.jpg) and you should get...
Hey, and I broke the table, too. Awesome

good to see both Maccas penalised for impeding Nick's final lap....both Lewis and Kovy were the only 2 cars still trolling around at 10 mph on the racing line which makes me think it was done on purpose since the BMW's were the only car capable (Trulli's Toyota not included....that was a special qualifying effort from Jarno, lol) of dislodging McLaren from the 2nd row.
