The Trifecta is back this week and is making 2 stops in Kansas
with the meat in this NASCAR sandwich, The F1 race from Japan. Now this might seem like an easy one, but
there is going to be a few rules to each race that may turn this into a real nightmare. Don’t let that scare you off though, if you
get frightened you can tap your heels together and say “there’s no place like
home”. That will wake you up and bring
you back to reality. Here are your
events.
First up is the Busch race from Kansas.
It is set to go off at 3:00pm ET,
Saturday. It should be chalk full of Cup
drivers, but to bad you can not pick any of them. This race is restricted to only driver that
have not made a cup start this year.
Second is the Japanese Grand Prix. It is set to go off at an early 12:30 am Sunday. I think the only one who is in favor of this
start time is Tezgm99, but he is the one who is usually up at all hours to
watch the races. I guess we can give him
a couple, eh. Your twist in this one is you can not choose any driver
who has won a race this year.
Effectively this eliminates the 2 teams involved in the espionage
scandal, Ferrari and Mclaren.
The final race is the
Nextel Cup race from Kansas. It is slated to start at 1:00pm. ET, Sunday.
As you know this year has been dominated by the chasers (obvious
statement there william), and now they seem to be the only ones out there. This week we are going to change that by only
picking cars not in the chase. We
need to do all we can to bring attention to these guys too.
So there you have it.
Do your research, make you picks and “pay no attention to the man behind
the curtain”. The same rules apply for
double picks (5 for 1,10 for 2 and 15 for 3) and we are giving up on the bonus
for the cup guys because we have figured out how to pick a winner. Picks are due before the start of the Busch
races, and hope your drivers can “follow the yellow brick road” or at least
stay right side up.
woo yeah, I get a evening race for once!! Fuji qualy starts today at 5pm for me....and I go onto daylight savings tomorrow so the race will probably kick off around 7pm I guess
Busch - tempted to go Marcos but that will jinx him so I'll go with....no screw it, I'll go Marcos Ambrose anyway since it's a 1.5 mile track and Kansas was the track he scored his first top 5 in the truck series last year by finishing 3rd....and led a lap for the first time, lol
F1 - David Coulthard....a risk considering the Red Bull reliability but he's rather good at figuring out new tracks quickly and those BMW's are somewhat struggling this weekend.
Cup - Casey Mears....hey, it's a HMS car right, lol
oh, an early warning for you, Will. If you do a trifecta over the two and a bit weeks from Oct 22 to Nov 6, expect me not to be in since I'm on holiday, lol

yup, a mighty fine sight seeing the cars in the rain instead of drivers cowering in the garage when someone spills their beer on the track...not that I'm bitter or anything, lol
I know I drop out to let you guys catch up too me. so Ill pick them now just for the heck to say I told you so oooomeone will win it.
Busch - Ill reck you kyle if you dont get out of my way Denny H
f1 - Have to go with Jon 464 with Im the mighty rookie watch me fly by the seat of my pants Alonso.
Sadcar- Come on Dalr Jr push me by the hendricks boys one more time Martin Truex. Or the other way around. would be ok too. lol
PS- Just like this I gave you all a head start and my picks are in for all the marbles william on your last post with my tie breaker, and yes starting with - 50. I love the underdog.

i fell asleep during Q2 but did wake up in time to see lewis edge out his teammate for the hammer. he seemed pretty happy about it, i wonder if hes got less fuel on board. this will be the true test to see if alonso and hamilton can co-exisit.
Will - We have seen in many racing teams and sereis that they do have a pecking order. I think the only 2 guys that seem not to bother or ever show it is Jeff Gordon N Jimmie Johnson.
I think that is in part cause Jeff brought him aboard as car owner first. Its got to get to Hamilton this new rookie stealing all the thunder and maybe even the storm at the end.
Hey, everyone! Have any of you heard from ccr? I know his son had surgery Wednesday. I was just wondering if anyone knows how CJ is doing. If any of you hear how things are going will you please let all of know? Thanks
well that was bad. the highest finishing non cup starter this year was todd bodine at 14th. i don't even think we can call it "cup light" anymore cuz there were more drivers that have started at least one race this year than not. more like cup alternate. in fact i have a count of only 15 or 16 that have not made a career cup start. your standing look like this so far
i had 21 drivers not to start a cup race this year.
at least the f1 race looks promising with so much rain falling. we actually could get a first time winner in this race, in the rain anything can happen.

Webber was 2nd, Vettel 3rd.....until Vettel ran into the back of Webber while under safety car conditions. That really sucks since until the SC came out, Webber was faster than Hamilton.
Mark just can't catch a decent break *sigh*
hmm, Mark swore on international live feed when he got interviewed....he might be having a slightly smaller pay check this week, lol
