Okay folks and fans, first I must apologize for not being
able to put on a Trifecta the last 2 weeks.
Things at work have picked up and I find myself with a lot less free
time than earlier in the summer. That is good, it pays the bills, but it is
hard on the free time to pull this together.
But this week there is some good races so I am making time to marquee
3. The Busch race is already underway
and I would be watching it except my darling wife has taken over the remote, so
it is not on the card.
First, we have is the Saturday night shootout at Bristol
Motor Speedway with the Nextel Cup boys.
Starting at 7:30 ET, and this
is also when your picks are due.
Second is the Formula 1 race from Hungary
at 8:00 am ET.
Third and last on the card is the IRL race from Infineon
Raceway in California. That race starts at 3:30 ET.
Also that last time we played no one correctly picked Kurt Busch
to win, no dominate, the race in Pocono, so the bonus points for picking the winner
of the cup race has moved to -10. The same
rule for double picking stands at 5 points for 1, 10 for 2, and 15 if all 3 of your
picks have been previously taken.
Sorry as well for the late post, but good luck to every one.
Whoooeeee. I'm feeling pretty good about my picks this weekend!
And I can now say that I look forward to the F1 qualifications on Saturday morning more than any other racing activity on a typical racing weekend. What a great format, broadcast by a terrific crew (Hobbs, Varsha, and Matchett), with non-stop interest and excitement.
um just so you know forensic all 3 drivers you chose were chose so you will be hit with a 15 point penalty. the is still time to change if you would like...
i'm going to take:
cup: jeff gordon (tony stewart is still on the board??? i guess we all know hotfootlori would have taken him if she weren't having such a good time.)
f1: kovalainen
irl: patrick

Sara Fisher qualifies at the back of the pack. Wonder what she could do with a well funded team and equipment. She is an excellent driver..
Forensic:
When you pick drivers, do not pick one that some one else has picked. It bites you big time. The system I use is a Dart board with the drivers names on the board. Throw the dart and viola that is my driver.
You still have time to pick different drivers for the IRL and Formula 1 per William.
WHAT !!! I didnt see that in the rule book, Thats a gray area I think. lol. I think William needs to post a time on when his post will be going up, I mean so I didnt have the fastest lap in qualifying dosn't mean I cant win the race.
William I been hit with alot of penaltys, but nothing like this. LMAO.
Cheers to all and your all just lucky I didnt re pick.lol
Forensic: If you didn't start in the beginning, you will over look that. William does mention in most of his trifecctas on the penalties.
Hey stick with me and I will key you in on the shakers and stoppers on this trifecta. What ever you do, Don't pick Jimmie Johnson. A TEZ favorite and mine a while back.
TEZ: Funny isn't it?? No matter how many times I read the LOWES cheat sheet on Johnson, the dart throwing always came up Carl Edwards so I trusted the dart throwing this time. HE HE .
well i was only able to watch the very start of the race. i'm not sure yet what happened to hamilton, he started off 3rd and alonso was the car trapped behind the 2 bmw's. i was volunteering a a car show, and had a great time but would love to hear anyones take on how it went down.
here are your standings so far.

I noticed that.. What was with those two mixing it up.. Then you had Kanaan perfectly capable of getting around Dario but stayed back and allowed Dixon and Castroneves to pass.. Hello?? Any body Home??
tez your right. i was too worried about forensic's penalty i forgot to give photo his bonus. not that he needed it. he had us all covered from the start
your results are

Eh, I thought Marco was the one who should have seen the leader coming up very fast and allowed him room. That's what a non-teammate did under similar circumstances just several laps earlier (Dixon, just out of the pits and not yet at full speed, allowed Franchitti to overtake). Sure, Dario could have exercised some discretion too. Just one o' them thangs.
Too bad pappa Michael was such a homer that he couldn't resist blaming Dario for the shunt in post race interviews - - Michael always was a hothead.
Looks as though I picked first in F1, my pick came in 2nd in IndyCar - and I'll be bringing up the rear anyways due to my Nextel Cup pick (Hamlin). FORTY THREE #$@*ing cars - they have to race FORTY THREE #$*@ing cars?! ...
I thought Marco was in the wrong there, myself. He was just coming out of the pits and he forced the leader to put two wheels in the dirt before they made contact. Dario really didn't have a choice.
Dang, photo and his cheat sheets! LOL Anyway, it was a good racing weekend. William, this is fun and I appreciate you doing this. I really don't like a teammate holding back if that was what actually happened. If that is the case, Truex, Jr., should get worse in order to help Little E!
dave your right. it was only a few years ago when they only started 36 at the short tracks like bristol but that wouldn't have been much better for you. i am noticing that the dynamic of the trifecta is best when the cup race is last, for that exact reason.
Dave: I feel for you really feel for you. Been in the same boat before plenty of times.
On the Indy race, What was with Kanaan letting 2 guys pass him while he stayed behing Dario.. He could have easily passed Dario and got away from Dixon and Castonevees. Guess I am not a team player in that respect.
Guys and gals I do rely heavily on the LOWES Cheat sheets but found a advantage using a dart board with all the drivers names on it. I just put J. Johnson in the bulls eye with the rest around the bulls eye. Works fine except in the case of Kanaan with the INdy cars. What a hell of a stupid move on his part.
Did you all hear that Robert Yates has asked to move the #38 over to Hendrick? Do you think that is the number that Dale, Jr., will use? I heard it on the Speed Report on SPEED.
I meant to add that I am kind of tired of all of the Little E., stuff, but I was glad to hear that he wants people to lay off of his stepmom. Even he wants everyone to just move on.
Volfan: I have heard that. I also noted that Hornish Jr. of the INDY league is having thoughts od moving to NASCAR with Chip Ginnasi ( spell check) Racing.
Congratulatio ns to Dave_in_Indy winning the Great Canadian Trifecta on June 10 2007.
