We suck as a league to think that the deal between Memphis and LA was a good deal, Gasol for whatever and it looks like the boys from  LA just got away with a total rip off....thats a deal that should have been vetoed..Being a basketball fan this sucks!

Recent news has Shaq, for Marion the Suns must be in desperate shape to send Marion for Shaq...I really can't see the profit.....there payrolls seem close, but  shaq can't play and whats with Marion...top 5 player.........doesnt make sense!

Its all about contracts, just wish my kings would trade Artest.....we need something to have hope for, GO KINGS

Vearl, that's why the Lakers are so damn great.

They always manage to pull off things like this.

Like I've told you since '06, it won't be long til LA is back on top with another potential dynasty and championship run.

I wish the best for your KINGS. I say RON RON is either going to TORONTO or JERSEY.

vearl,
You raise a great point what's the point of a draft and parity if you allow the weaker teams to fire sale the picks?

I mean really what's the qualitative difference if the four best teams that can't get them in the draft because of where they finished just get them a year later in a questionable trade?

It ruins parity
It defrauds the fans who hold Memphis season tickets by downgrading the quality of the product.
It makes a second tier team that's close and might bridge the gap with guts and heart not have a sucker's chance because now the Laker's bench is as good as their starting 5...

Because of teams like Memphis that give great players away because they can't keep up with a wealthy team like the Lakers this league lost all of its credability with me, didn't have much anyway but this move never should have been allowed, you know and I know that J-Dizz the Lakers stole something and are getting away with it, why the hell didn't Stern the weak #### leader of our league allow suck a freakin heartless move by the Grizzlies, it just plain sucks and kills such a great game...the Lakers are great because of a dump truck of a team called the #### or grizzels or something!

Ed....Man when I got home and seen this trade I just couldn't believe it, I know several Laker fans up here in Sac and even they are calling #### to this trade, you bring up such a great point in parity when a weak team like the Grizz just trade their best player for nothing...I was thinkin he would have looked good in a Kings jersey but we don't have no Kwame to trade this just sucks.

We as a league and I know its not perfect can't let trades like this take place it hurts all the teams trying to re-build, draft and put together teams through the draft....thanks

I never really understood why it was that when the Kings contender team fell apart that the team ran around paying far too much money for people like Abdul Rahim, picking up trouble maker Artest, and for some reason everyone thinks Brad Miller is a holdover from the glory years? He's not. He's often hurt and just not worth the money.

Bibby? He had daggers for the Lakers but with Peja, Webber, Christie, Bobby J, Vlade and the gang Bibby looked a lot better than he actually is.

But why blame the Lakers? Why didn't Petrie trade one of your expiring contracts instead of letting the Lakers dump Kwame?

I'm not blaming the Lakers I'm blaming the league for allowing such a trade, its lame man how would you like Kobe getting trading away for Bibby thats about the same difference, this set the Grizzlies back years, they #### their fans by not trying to build a team around a great player like Gasol....but I think it was one of the great trades of all time for the Lakers, it just just sucks for the league and teams trying to build teams through the draft, thanks for your comments my friend!

ABOUT ME

I'm from Sacramento and a huge Kings fan, but also a huge basketball fan. I have season tickets to the Kings and have had tickets since their arival in Sac. I love the game, Arco Arena is crazy no matter how the teams doing, great place to see the stars. We here in Sac have had a good run for about 8 years but I think we could be rebuilding and also have arena issues. Go Kings!!!!!! I have been a Giants fan since birth my Father brought me up on the Giants and 49ers, I love all sports!
