thinking back...

Remember the good ol' days when we could expect an entertaining Mariner's game nearly everytime they stepped out onto the field? Whether it was Louie getting fired up over a #### call, the Big Unit throwing an excellent ball game, and who could even fathom forgetting "The Double"? The 116-win season, dropping monopoly money on A-Rod, pictures of people getting their head's shaved so they could be like The Bone, the list of memories goes on and on.

As the Mariner's seem to finally be creeping out of their tail spin, I posed the question, "What happened to that 116-win team?" I recieved a simple reply from my mother, "Bavasi."

Now that he is gone, along with a few other managerial dead-weights, I am beginning to see life and hope in this ball club again. Ichiro is batting above .300, King Felix is due back soon, and our catchers are finally starting to show some promise. If we continue along this path the Mariner's may be a contending team by 2010.

And is it just me or are the commercials not quite what they used to be? Edgar's clap-on clap-off stadium lights is one of my personal favorites. And the one where everyone puts their first name on their jersey's like Ichiro, and John Halama has to put his middle name on his (Thadeuz), good stuff. Let's see someone step up with some charisma.

All I can say is that it's all looking up from here. Let us hope for an improving future, because how could it get worse than what we have endured these past few months? I don't want to know.
