The NFL used to primarily be about rivalries, trash talking, hard hitting and all around good guys. And though I am sure that you can still find it somewhere, you are going to have to dig very deep to find it! We have entered an era of dog fighting, coaches and players being busted in a drug stings, pot smokers, firearms issues and now the latest thing... blatant cheating! I am just scratching the surface of what is wrong in today’s NFL. You know if you had of asked me ten years ago what HGH stood for truthfully I would have had no idea. Today HGH it is as commonly used as LOL.
All of this disruption makes me long for yesteryear! For days when the worst things to worry about were comments like, "When I play Darrell Green I am going to break his leg" A quote from Michael Irvin. At that time I would have never believed that one day those words would seem tame to me. I miss Sunday morning NFL shows whose headlines were not consumed with issues like the above mentioned, but their headlines were filled with teams, their players and the Biggest Games of the week!
I have noticed that several people seem to think that Commissioner Goodell is at fault! Why because he is being tough and firm on his punishment for all who break the rules? But that is the point isn’t it? There would not be a need for his iron fist if people did not "Break the Rules"! I am sure there are many in the NFL who are longing for the days of the "King of Coverups" Paul Tagliabue. But those days are long gone, and a new Sheriff is in town! Maybe we should nickname him Wyatt Earp? I see some similarities between the two, do you? Earp comes into a lawless town. Goodell comes into a lawless league. No not all of Dodge City was lawless. And not all of the NFL is lawless. Still Earp enforced the law. Just like Goodell is enforcing the rules. Dodge City ended up the better for Earp having been there. Just like the NFL will end up being better for Goodell.
You know Today I have read many stories and blogs in regards to Bill Belichicks cheating. And as I stated in the comments I made, I will say again... there is just no way that the Patriots are going to be able to get away from this. The only thing the Pats could do to help them is fire Bill. But even still, all that they have accomplished under him will always be looked upon as tarnished.
If you don’t believe me then I would suggest you read KP’s Blog " October 7, 2001: The Day Sports Went to Hell."because he delves into it and gives you Belichicks stats before and after Oct. 7, 2001. And believe me, for any of you doubters who think that what has occurred had no effect on the Patriots becoming a Dynasty, those stats will at the least make you think again, if not change your mind completely!
Now I know you die hard Patriot fans do not want to hear this, and I know the Bill himself does not want to hear this, being he is trying to put as much distance as he can between him being caught. But I can just about guarantee that had it been Tony Dungy and your hated rivals the Colts, you would be blowing FOX Sports up with what you had to say! So turn about is fair play, and you are going to have to defend a cheat for many years to come! I do not envy you Patriot fans.
But I think I can best sum this article up like this...
Back in the day when Wyatt was in charge, you had to check your guns when you came into town. Abide by their rules while you were there, and when you left you could pick them up. Well, I think the same applies to the NFL and Goodell... You need to check your crimes at the door the day you become a part of the NFL. Abide by the rules while you are in "OUR"town And on your way out...YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL BACK !
The stats that KP quoted in his blog were bogus. He left out too many important details. Go back and read the comments that I left on his blog. I disputed basically nothing he said, I just filled in some of the gaps.
The best thing the Patriots can do is extend Belichick's contract.
I don't know if the commish would be flattered by being compared to Wyatt Earp. Earp was a convicted bootlegger and was convicted for running a brothel. And their has been some serious concern on the part he played in the OK corral incident.

I like what Goodell's doing to the league. It's about time one of the major sports leagues had a commissioner who stood for something. I####uy like Bill Belichick is going to be arrogant (that word really seems to sum up everything about the Patriots) enough not only to cheat, but to flaunt his cheating he deserves everything that's coming to him.
The Patriots are fast becoming the team you love to hate. Reasons: 1) They're damn good; 2) They have a f*** you attitude; 3) They are a reflection of their coach; that is, arrogant.
That being said, Belichick and the Patriots got over. He WAS NOT suspended (he should have got at least 4 games), and the $500K fine is a JOKE. EVERY first rounder between 2008-2012 should have been ripped from the Pats.
bosox I can understand your defense of the Pats and Belichick. I would expect no less from one of their fans. I also had already read your comments on Kevins page, as I commented a few under yours. I stand by what I have stated. The bottom line is Bill was caught cheating, and nothing can be done about how this will reflect on him and his time with the Patriots. History will not reflect kindly on Belichick. And how would you have reacted if this had been Dungy and the Colts?
Also if you read what I wrote about Earp I was referring to the time he was in Dodge City. Not when he was in Tombstone. So I am sure Goodell, who will not read this BTW, would not be upset by being compared to the Wyatt Earp of Dodge City.
Hey Jan! I am with you 100%! I am totally amazed at the attitude Bill has taken with this matter, but I guess arrogant does sum him up best, and now we can add cheat to that as well. So Arrogant Cheat absolutely deserves everything he gets! Plus I am a big fan of Goodell! You are right, it is about time we had someone who is willing to stand firm!
Thanks for the comment, and as always stop by when you are in the neighborhood!
Take care,
Ang
To be honest with you, I have never cared one way or the other about the Patriots. I had respect for them and Bill due to the way the Pats seemed to dominate the AFC, but beyond that my focus has always been within the NFC East or the NFC in general...gee I wonder why, LOL!
But I agree that what he got was not enough. $500K is a drop in the bucket for Bill and $250K is a joke fine against the Patriots. You know I cannot help but think of Pete Rose, and yes I know the difference, but there are similarities. The top three biggest no-no's in sports are...
1-Betting
2-throwing a game
3-CHEATING!
There should have been more harsh penalties handed down to Bill and the Pats!
It will be interesting to see if the media lets this go or hounds Belichicks every move, and if the do hound him I wonder if it will force the Commish to reassess the whole matter?
Thanks for the comment jon, and you know you are always welcome here!
Take care,
Ang
Belichick has always carried himself in this arrogant way; he was the same attitude with the Jets (who he ditched after one day to coach New England), Cleveland (where he was fired because everybody hated him) and the Giants. A leopard never changes its stripes, and Belichick will simply find another way to cheat. Bravo to Goddell for attempting to change a culture of lawlessness and for coming down hard on everyone, star or scrub.
Yep you are right about the arrogant thing. It seems to be a theme for ole Bill. You know, I did not know about the Jets one day stint until today. That sure does not say a lot about this guys character even back then. Plus the fact that the Browns fired him should have been a heads up. You know if you think about it, in the real world, if your resume looked like Bills you would cashing unemployment checks! I still think he should find himself unemployed! And if does find another way to cheat I sincerely hope it costs him everything!
But Goodell is just about one of the best things to happen to the NFL in a long time. I keep hoping that players and coaches alike will get the message and straiten up, but so far I don't think they have checked their voice mail, LOL!
Thanks for the comment and come back to see me soon!
Ang
vbchick - I live in Tampa and root for the Bucs. And I don't defend Belichick near as much as I attack people with a #### mob mentality. He was charged, and found to be guilty of violating league rules. He was punished. Move on.
I submit two points. If Belichick became unemployed (which won't happen) and your team (not specifically referring to the Skins) was looking for a head coach, You all would be drooling at the mouth to have him lead your squad. I certainly would have no problems having him on the sidelines at Raymond James Stadium.
Second, He will definitely be inducted into the Football Hall of Fame. By the time he is eligible, this will be old news with nothing more than a "by-the-way" tag line.

OK Skins Fan, I have to disagree with you on this one.
As a lifelong Patriots fans I for one believe Belichick should have been suspended for the rest of the year and the Patriots lose their draft picks AND forfeit the game for this infraction.
Belichick got caught and that's the end of that. And he should take his lumps.
That being said.... This other speculative B.S. that everyone is throwing around is just that speculative B.S.
If these things were true... Hines Ward and Favre and their running of the mouths. There would have been penalties at those times. There were not.
Also it is NOT against league rules to videotape another team during the game. It is WHERE you videotape them that gets you in trouble. On the sidelines on the playing field is a BIG NO-NO.
Truth be known ALL teams videotape each other to break down game film. Mangini because of his running feud with his former coach Belichick pointed this out this infraction to league officials.
Yes Belichick is perceived to be arrogant because he won't talk to the press and give away his game plans to the opposition. But being arrogant in itself is not a reason to toss a man's accomplishments and say a teams success is based on one incident. People NEED PROOF that this wasn't a one shot deal. And that evidence is just not there. Still one of my favs...we just disagree on this one kiddo.
Barry Bonds admitted taking anabolic steroids through the flaxseed oil and cream....cheater??...HOFer???
Phil Niekro...Ball scuffer....HOFer???
Sammy Sosa... Corked Bat...Cheater...HOFer???
Mark McGwire....Creatine...Cheater??.... HOFer???
There's a difference between altering equipment and you body to get a competitive edge. Stealing signals has been around since the beginning of organized sports. The players on the field still have got to execute.
Where does Belichick fall?
If this was your REDSKINS how would you feel?
If you took Belichick out of the equation how would you feel?
This issue really is about people's dislike for Belichick than anything else.
If this was Bill Cowher there wouldn't be such an uproar.

Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think your article is about Belichick. Rather it's about the degrading character of those in the NFL. I am happy to see Roger Goodell taking the actions that he is taking but he has a long road ahead of him because the serious actions that have occured recently are a direct result of the tolerance of lesser offenses in the past. Tolerance leads to acceptance and unfortunately bad behavior is now accepted in the NFL. Roger seems to want to end this and I wish him the best of luck. Maybe after he is done with the NFL he can take on a real challenge and clean up the NBA where anything except beating up your coach or a fan is just fine.
You're right about having to defend the name, but that's it. Obviously it was a low level cheating-offense. Do you really believe they're the only ones?
Why haven't other head coaches or managers come out against them with harsh statements? This type of advance scouting happens all of the time. The only people who are crying for the Pats to forfeit wins and titles are sore-losers and bloggers who know nothing about the NFL.
The proof will be in the puddin' tonight, all. What will be the excuse then???
When are the cameras going to show us the game and not some over ego'd ####. What did Chad Johnson with a electrical tape printed jacket have to do with the game in progress? Lets quit adding to their over priced egos and get back to the game on the field!
vbchic Redskins fan
I'm an ardent Pats' fan and even I was embarrassed by Belichek's alleged apology and act of contrition. I think he not only has embarrassed the fans and players of the franchise but the image of the sport as well. It's as if we're living in a day and age where we've got to emphasize the acceptance of cheating above the competition on the field. And that to my mind is where we're seeing the downfall of values on and off the field.
Hey Ang,
I enjoyed the read... and thanks for the link, appreciated.
Yeah BoSox wasn't crazy about some of my stats... but we can't include everything in our posts, and besides, I put what I feel are the most important facts in there, and what strengthens my argument too, you know? But anyway, I still think it is him cheating... some coaches will learn as understudies, but you still don't share that person's brain, you have to coach for yourself, and I don't get how he went from that bad to that great so quickly. I just don't... improvement yes, but becoming the king of football, I don't think so. Maybe it's just me. I stand by my post!
As for the comments on here, as a 'Skins fan, I would root for Snyder to never bring someone in with a tainted record, or someone with his attitude. IF Gibbs is gone, I want Cowher to come in and coach the 'skins. What about you Ang?
Can't you just see the scene of Goodell handing over the Super Bowl trophy to Belichek? Every team cheats to get an advantage on their opponents. Can't wait to see the Patriots call a timout with seconds left against the Jets to kick a field goal and make the score 45-0.
At least the fans see a Commissioner doing the job in the NFL, unlike MLB, where the Commiss is the 'lackey son of the she-devil.'
BTW, the Most Interesting/BOTD has had three different sets up in the past two hours. Fox is messing with us here. Better get our bikini babe Avatars up.
i agree sadly now wayy to many people in sports as players are so concerned of the their FAT BANK ACCOUNTS then the game!!! no longer playing the game as a kid,,, sure i can see its a living (JOB) but a few years ago now an ex portland trail blazer said something like the fans have got to know this is a business!!! well big shot if you didnt have the fans.... would you be playing????? no fans no games knucklehead!!!! it like a person who works in a library asked my friend a few years ago, why do u come in here all the time??? geesh ummm if people didnt come in to read ... i dont think he would have a job
I have to say that it was your screen name, and your argument in defense of Bill on this post and kevs, that made me figure you are a Pats fan. So I do apologize.
Now as to your two points:
1-I agree the Patriots will not fire Bill-YET
2-The Redskins will be in need of new head coach sometime in the next few years, but NO I would not be drooling at the thought of Belichick as our head coach. I would be extremely upset by it! Will there be other teams that would be "drooling" for Bill? Yes absolutely! Because all too often in the society we live in, people use this excuse, "We are a forgiving society" I hear that saying EVERYWHERE! All it is is a secret handshake, simply put it stands for, "Hey, you hit a bump in the road, but all will be good as soon as the media lets it blow over!
I completely disagree with you saying Belichick will make it into the HOF. And this becoming a BTW statement later down the line! He is tainted goods plain and simple. And the HOF will look the other way. Being a CHEAT in any sport is blasphemy. But that is just my opinion!
I am glad to see you here my friend! Yes I see we do disagree on this, but you know I respect your opinion very much! And the fact is you are a Pats fan and you are passionate about them. So I know this has been difficult on you.
I wish that I could say that this will be over for Bill, and it may be possible because many seem very split in the media. But let's just say that if it turns out that all, or even some of these accusations from many different teams pan out...well Bill could very well find himself far deeper than he is right now. I know you think it is speculative. But from what I have read and watched in regards to this people have been complaining for quiet some time about the different problems while playing at Gillette Stadium. It just so happened that it was Mangini who was able to nail Bill.
And yes I know that other teams use video tape to break down their opponents the week before their game. But socrates did you see the actual footage that Jay Glazer showed on the NFL on FOX this morning? When I saw it I was dumbstruck. The Video shows the hand signals and then pans to the time clock for time and down. This goes on throughout the whole game. And we both know that this was not the first time. I mean seriously you cannot think it was a one time deal after seeing the tape? So it does shed a very bad light on all the Pats have done!
Barry Bonds admitted taking anabolic steroids through the flaxseed oil and cream....cheater??...HOFer???
Phil Niekro...Ball scuffer....HOFer???
Sammy Sosa... Corked Bat...Cheater...HOFer???
Mark McGwire....Creatine...Cheater??....
HOFer???
In my opinion NONE of them should ever be in the HOF!
Unfortunately Bill falls as a cheater now .If it were my Redskins I am not quiet sure how I would take it. I know I would be sickened, and truthfully I would still be a Skins fan, but I do not think I could support the Coach that did it.
I have to be honest I could care less who the coach was I would still feel exactly the same. A cheater is a cheater no matter who you are! Honestly I never really paid any attention to Bill before now! SO I had no preconceived notions about him, other than he was a winning coach.
Oh believe me there would be an uproar if it was Cowher. Every team has a rival who is looking for them to fall.
You will always be one of my favorite people here my friend! So please always feel free to express how you feel to me. I will never hold it against you, just as I know it is the same with for me!
Take care and come on back to see me!

Blackjackfan you hit the nail on the nose! That is exactly what this article is about! I have watched Goodell take care of one situation and before he can even catch his breath another huge scandal breaks! Makes you scared for what is going to be next!
He has shown that he is the man for the job! That has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. For far too long others looked the other way at these type issues. Now I cannot say for sure that they were as serious as what Goodell has had to deal with, but I am pretty sure there was some big ones that were swept under the rug that we never heard about!
Well he might be too tired for the NBA once he is done with the NFL, but you never know!
Thanks so much Blackjackfan for the comment! I appreciated it! And you are always welcome here!
No I am not naive enough to think they were the only ones, but they were the ones who were caught! I think you have to look at your one sentence...
"Obviously it was a low level cheating-offense"
When did we come up with varying degrees of cheating? Think about it this way, when we were kids the biggest no-no was cheating. We did not say, "Well Bobby just kinda cheated." No we pointed that finger and we all called Bobby a CHEATER! A name that would have lasted the whole school year if not longer. And NOBODY would play with him again! Now I know I am talking about something silly like dealing with childhood, but that is where that foundation for cheaters comes from.
So Bill did not “kinda” cheat. Bill did not “low level” cheat. Point blank...”HE CHEATED!”
I do hope you are not referring to me when you say bloggers who know nothing about the NFL.... If so please feel free to stop back in and ask me anything you want! I have no problem going toe-toe over my passion!
As for the "proof is the puddin' tonight" well I think there are some that would say the Pats already have a leg up with prior tapes, but I will be watching that game! Just as I am sure must of the Country will be!
I am afraid the camera is never going to stop showing us the over hyped ego's. It is fuel for the fire. But, I really do not have a problem with someone going out there and acting like an #### for the world to see. Because you and me + the rest of the world know they are being foolish. My problem lies within the illegal facets that have become synonymous with the name NFL! That has to stop. Though I fear it never will!
But I agree with you...lets just get back out on the field and play the game!
Thanks for your comment and please come back to see me!
Take care,
Ang
Hey tophatal! Finally I have found a Patriots fan who see's wrong is wrong, and that this has brought shame to the team and their fans! And yes he has embarrassed the league as well!
I believe you said perfectly with all of this coinciding with the day and age we live in. Being competitive is part of nature, but being competitive to the point of cheating is not, or at least should not be!
I am so concerned that there are people out there that see having values as being a bad thing! I am not sure that we can bounce back from all of these things that are plaguing our sports, but most importantly our society!
Great insight my friend! You are always a good voice of reason and I respect that!
Take care and come back soon!
Ang
Ang I hear you about the videotape and the panning to the time and downs. The tape in question was taken in the FIRST quarter and couldn't possibly have been used in the game at hand. True the tape could have been used as a reference for later games, but is NO DIFFERENT than the practice of 'FANS' in the stands doing exactly the same thing. The only difference is that it was done on the sidelines and not up in the team BOOTH or stands as some teams do.
Every team steals signs. In baseball it is no different when a coach flashes a signal, or a pitcher holds a ball a certain way, or a catcher sets up in a certain crouch. The teams use videotape to catch these minor flaws. Why does Holmgren cover his mouth! Because he knows that the team he is playing is watching not only NETWORK T.V. shots but also game footage shots from not only the team he is playing, but also scouts from other teams.
Panning to the time and down just tells me that the team that is being taped may have a tendency to run certain plays at certain times and they are looking for a pattern.
Again there is NO WAY to use that information at the time of the play.
Belichick deserves to be punished for doing it on the sidelines...but that's it. Talk to you later kiddo
Hey Kev! I am glad you were okay with the link! I agree what you wrote in your post 100%, and to try and put ALL the facts in is impossible. You put in the most important like you said, and then if someone has more to add you just go from there in your comment section. Plus, You should always stand by your work! Never let anyone make you think differently!
I too do not understand how he became a winning coach so fast. It is a gradual thing, not an overnight thing. So many people would naturally suspect something was up, and it turns out there was. He was cheating! He is the Head Coach and therefore all falls at his feet. Did you get to see the tape Jay Glazer showed this morning? That is some damning evidence!
I have to say this as a "Skins Fan" when it is time for Joe to go, I would not be pleased to have a coach like Belichick anywhere near the Redskins. Just like when Norv Turner came in...his tainted offense to me was he was the Cowboys defensive Coach, LOL! I never liked him. I could not stand seeing his face, and he was never a good fit for the Skins. After having Joe Gibbs as our Coach (twice) I think it will be difficult to except anyone with a tainted past. Joe does not even cuss! He is just an all around good man! But I too have heard the rumors of Bill Cowher coming in after Joe, but we have to look at Al Saunders and whether not he will be content to stay in his position, or whether he will want Joes Job. But I think I would be OK with Cowher. For right now though, I will just enjoy the time left with our ole ball coach!
That would be something to see wouldn't it? I don’t thin k it will happen though. Yes I believe that a lot of teams do things to give them a leg up, but not to the extent the Pats went to. As far as the Patriots playing the Jets that will be an interesting game, but I don't think the score will be a shutout. Probably far from it. There is vengeance looking to be sought there, and that will make the difference! No denying the talent the Pats have, but vengeance is a big motivating factor!
Hey slshusker! Yes the Commish is doing his thing! Who knows maybe Selig will take some hints to get his own league strait!
As for the BOTD, well first I had no idea I was up there, and second if I am now gone it would have been nice to see, LOL! Third I think I will stick with my knowledge of the game instead of a bikini shot LMAO! It is hard enough to get guys to respect my opinion as it is!
Thanks for stopping by and the great comment!
Take care slsh,
Ang
Ang that's not true! We would still respect your opinion even if you put a bikini shot up there. But that's not necessary since the avatar that's up there is already very nice.
How are you kellyscott? It is good to see you! That is an excellent way to look at this. Players and Coaches want us fans to see that this is a business, huh? Well if this was just a business, let's just say, any regular company would not tolerate this type of behavior. Those employees who broke the law would be fired, and no never rehired after doing their time!
Yes they have to realize that if there were no fans, then there would be no sports! It is their chosen profession, and as such, they should conduct themselves accordingly! Would it not be more rewarding to have a clean upstanding profile? No, unfortunately in today’s society, like tophatal said...we are lacking morals and standards in both the sports world and the real world! And the PR guys love for the players to get their names out there any way possible! It is just sad...
Thanks for the comment and you are always welcomed here!
Take care,
Ang
I am only going by what Jay Glazer and the guys had to say on Fox this morning. The tape according to Jay is of the whole game. And no it was not a lot of help during the game against the Jets, but it would have been used for their next meeting.
Yes other teams use different and possibly the same methods as the Pats. Baseball is literally a different ball game! They have a commissioner who looks the other way. Oh yeah you know when he is unhappy with you, but that is the extent of it
Most coaches cover their mouths with their hands, their play sheets etc. I know why they do it, but we are talking head coaches. When the D coach is out there I do not recall seeing them covering their mouths though, but I am sure they do. There are cameras everywhere, you are right!
But Bill, just like every other coach in the league received a memo in regards to the very things they got caught doing. He showed blatant disregard to the commissioner by continuing. He got caught period. And I can understand that as a fan you are being there for your team. That's what makes you a true fan! I do not even want to think how I would feel if it were the Skins.
And again I do not think they used the tape right then, but maybe at the half, or at least for their next meetings. Who knows my friend, who knows?
Got to watch the Cowgirls, so I can do my week two in review. And God knows I have to be exact, because even then I am still getting ripped by their fans! Oh well :0)
"Ang that's not true! We would still respect your opinion even if you put a bikini shot up there. But that's not necessary since the avatar that's up there is already very nice."
You are a sweetheart socrates! Thanks for the vote of confidence! :0)
I always say if we beat the Cowboys, not matter if we lose every other game, I am happy. I hope we beat the Eagles tomorrow night, because I think it will make or break our season.
I just went over our schedule again, and we have a pretty rough year considering. I mean even the Packers are 2-0...It is going to be one of the years where all the teams you thought would be cake walks, turn out to be the toughest in the league!
Stealing signals has always been part of every sport; if you're dumb enough to have your signals stolen, you deserve to lose.
This is absolutely a power play by Goodell, what we'd call a #### measuring contest.
Mangini is a sore loser, a crybaby. His team lost this week
Belichick is a man, a real coach, a winner. I was out of town for the result of the Pats-Bolts game. Sorry.

As a Pats fan, I am embarrassed. Everything the Pats have done under Belichick is in doubt. Goodell should have stripped them of their Super Bowl victories, Belichick should be banned for life, a la Pete Rose, and the Pats should be ineligible for the post season for at least this year. Death penalty. Even tonight's game is in doubt. What information are they working with tonight that they obtained through improper methods?
Ok people, got a theory for you guys. Lets accept that everybody steals signals. Lets accept that the pats are arguably the best team in the NFL. By the way, i m not a pat fan, but a cowboy fan and loved T.O.'s celebretion today. Ok, back to the theory.... The pats, being so good and so disciplined do not need to steal signals, but other teams, lesser teams do, such as the jets. So, what does bill do? He purposefully and blatantly steals signals so he can get caught. He wants to get caught, thus, he gets caught. Its ok, he knows the fine will be big, maybe a game suspension, so what...the owner will pay it. So what if they lose a draft choice, the damn pats have 2 first rounders. Ok, you ask what do the pats get out of it? Well my fellow football fans, the pats get the league to focus on signal stealing and stop the lesser lowly teams from doing it, thus, bill is now safe to run his plays without the lesser teams in the league stealing them.

This is excellent and well worth of a BOTD. I'm 60 years old and have seen a lot of bad actors in sports over the years. But I find myself thinking a Jack Tatum of today would just basically be one of the boys rather than known as the dirtiest player in the league.
I know many don't agree with me but if you look at the introduction of "gangsta rap" in appx. 1992/1993 and the huge influence it had on young boys from then to now and do the math on the average age of the pro athlete in trouble today and they grew up with promotion of violence, disrespect for authority, for women, for anyone not in their "set", a mindset of daily brainwashing for the past 12-13 years that you are not "real" unless you act out in these manners, I seriously question if this is not a predictible result.
Last edited by OneLastOutlaw on September 16th at 7:51 PM.
First off MRKIA I think you are kinda missing the point. It is not about what "other" teams have done, because there is no proof, concrete anyway. It is about the fact the Bill Belichick got caught cheating. Period, end of story, bottom line.
And being that you brought up the Pats-Bolts game, which is still on I might add, just started the fourth quarter...I have to tell you that from here on out it will be assumed that whatever the Pats do will be cheating. Does not matter if it is not so. It does not matter if they are clean as a whistle.
Being that you missed tonight’s pre game and Roger Goodell being interviewed. Let me fill you in on some new things...There seems to be other evidence floating around out there, audio tapes, of the off. they were playing, that somehow was used while their defense was on the field and then piped into the helmets of their players. They could hear all the audible calls, etc. It was told to Bill that the initial cheating better be it, or else the issue will be revisited. Now it seems a revisit may be in order.
Oh BTW what does this have to do with Goodell? Other than the fact the man is the Commissioner of the league, he has not created all these issues himself. He is just doing his job.

I really do feel sorry for the Patriot fans. I know there are many people who will tell me to keep my sympathy. But for the truest of fans, and I am that kind of fan with the Redskins, this is a very difficult thing to deal with. You give your heart, your give your all, rooting for a love, a passion! And just like the love of your life cheating on you, it breaks your heart! At least that is the kind of fan that I am, and if this was my 'Skins...I would be heartbroken.
I think you are right about the punishment being more severe. Simply put as long as Bill is there the first thing people will think is about this. And I was shocked to learn from the Owner of the Patriots that they have just signed Bill until 2012. WOW....
