Congratulations Celtics & fans for the 2008 champs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some say, Kobe disappeared again like he has always done for the past two years. I think the game went As THE NBA had scripted it.
While Kobe Bryant and company took what the league had given to them; they led their fans hanging for their hopes of the title. We were waiting for the moment when Bryant said forget this, it's time for me to take charge, instead we get the Kobe that played a little too much team ball and too little me.
Aside from the occasional Shasha bench hissy fits, and scoring outburst of Kobe Bryant in mostly 1st quarter, the LA teamappeared to be calm, cool, and collected while seated on their bench.
The LAKERS bench is wildly inconsistent, unable to handle the pressure, Vujacic, Luke Walton, Jordan Farmar, and Rony Turiaf – which has been sign of thier youthful inexperience. Vladimir Radmonovic not a starter material.
Kevin Garnett and the rest of the Celtics who did a good job of Throwing off their rhythm by swarming and bumped all of the Los Angeles starter players by keeping them all out of their comfort zone repeatedly. And that may be the biggest difference between these two teams.
As James Posey, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen had said, “we had a great game plan," "We all took it upon ourselves as a challenge to stop Kobe the entire series."
“Which leaves the unselfish Kobe Bryant”
Call it you want, but this is what I had saw.
Before the series started, much of the hype centered on Kobe’s burning desire to win a championship with a young team he called his own. His desire had vanished in thinking that he had gotten what he wanted compared to the Celtics’ Big Three of Garnett, Allen, and Paul Pierce, desperate desires. With zero titles to show for it, they are more desperate for a championship after thirty-plus years of playing experience combined.
What is your opinion? Let me have it… I have 3 hours to response…too much commitment, well only three. “ A little too much for a twelve year olds” my nana said.
your big ?
No my little bro, Mike, is not mad, he is sad for Kobe & he had a big :) for our big brother AJ & little cuz Charles!!.lol.
My big ?
Do you think the team needs to get a big body that they can pair with Kobe or a wingman that can create his own shot in the lane?
Thank you all for your support...
GO KOBE!!!!!
We'll See You Next Season And It Will Be Your Turn Again.
This was anything but scripted.
If the NBA had their way this series between 2 of the most popular teams in the league would have gone 7. They make alot of their money of selling commercial space to the highest bidder. More games = more commercial space available.
I will say this I am happy Kobe got his handed to him but I never expected it either. As I watched the game get more and more out of reach I thought to myself, " what the hell is Kobe doing? Clear out and have Kobe go one on one , he score on any one defender anytime he wants." But it never happened.
Were the Celtics that good? I don't think so.
Was Kobe's finger bothering more so now than before? Possibly but I doubt it.
Did he choke? I doubt it. He's been to many big games.
Did he take dive? I must say it entered my mind when a team with Kobe went down by as much as 30.
Oh well, as a Kobe hater I am happy to leave well enough alone but for all those Lakers/ Kobe fans good luck trying to figure out what the he ll you saw last night.
I agree with texas...the NBA didn't script this. They would've wanted 7 games for sure. I just want all of you Kobe lovers to quit comparing him to Jordan. He's no where near his level. Jordan wouldn't sit on the bench AT ALL when its a possible series ending game!! No way. A Jordan team would not lose by 39pts in a Finals game either. This is the closest he will ever come to winning without Shaq.
The bottom line was Celtics defense! The West only had one team (Spurs) with any kind of defense that they played all playoffs and all the Lakers fans thought they would roll over the Celtics....The Celtics would've swept them had they all been healthy.
The Hawks and Cavs took Boston to 7 games...think about that Lakers' fans.
As first I was kind of miffed seeing Kobe on the bench as well but then I thought maybe he is resting up to go 1 on 5. You know preparing to be a one man offense. I was further surprised that when he came in it didn't happen. Not because the defense was that good but that it looked like he didn't even try to take over.
This team can't get much better than they already are. They were Western Conference champions for crying out loud. Without Bynum! Insert Bynum and Vlad Rad is a good option for a bench guy. There is no reason to blow this team up as some other bloggers are saying. Maybe bringing in a more consistent outside shooter like Michael Redd or a defensive high energy guy like Josh Howard and sliding Kobe to the 3. Of course to bring anything of value would require moving Lamar Odom.
I think Fisher is the best PG for this team. Solid ball handler, smarts, and about as good an outside shooter as their is. The only real place to upgrade is the 3 spot and moving Kobe over gives you more options to find someone better suited to this team than Odom.
I personally like Odom and think he might fit well in San Antonio. Though I would rather have Tayshaun Prince or Josh Howard instead.
texastriosuks , I am not a boy.. I am not a whiner. I am not a faker fans, I AM A LAKERS FANS PERIOD!!!!!!
I wrote as what I had seen last night and the rest of this serries..
Sorry, I only speak and write what is in my mind and the fish had been cooked well and it really smelled fish all around the NBA.
texastriosuks thanks for stopping by.
Underage, how can you say no Lakers' fans have compared Kobe to MJ. There has been blog after blog on this site alone doing just that all season. Anyone who even challenged the idea that Kobe was not better than Jordan was called a hater. There was even a Kobe blog day, for God's sake.
And after the Gasol trade most Lakers' fans seemed to think the championship was a done deal. All we heard was how good they were and how strong the bench was and how no team in the league could touch them.
Then when it became pretty apparent that they were going to beat the Spurs, it got even worse. It bordered on arrogance. There was a sense of entitlement that I have only seen among Suns' fans.
You know, a player may ask for certain players, that does not mean they are going to get them. Why do you think those trades did not get made? Because the Lakers essentially did not have anyone to trade. None of those teams were willing to trade for what the Grizzles were. They wanted value for their players.
A lot of players om a lot of teams might have liked to ask for those players. Up until the finals most of the Lakers' fans seemed to think the Lakers' management had done a super job of getting Kobe a great team.
Now it seems that many Lakers' fans are ready to dump them all and start over. As we have been reminded over and over all season, this is a young team. Give them time.
i doubt the series was scripted.
the celtics played harder.
Lakers had no nuts...or better yet, the celtics big men took them from the Lakers' big men.
you said it yourself...take a look at the benches and that told the whole story...one played with fire, the other didn't and it cost them the championship.
Laker fans don't be discouraged. you simply lost to a team who wanted it more. their big 3 have a combined total of 33 years experience. the desire of those 3 alone would've made it hard for any team to beat them this year.
tag teaming on what Spurcse said...the Lakers are a young team. they do need to get rid of a player or two...but keep the majority of those guys so they can form some kind of chemistry.

Spurcse I am not one of those fans you are talking about...
I can agree for some of the LAKERS players that had been in the league for a while to get traded, but not all of them.
Only a couple, the reason being are:
1. Because they don't have thier hearts on making their self better.
2. That is becuase the Coach or the the son owner like them more than the other player.
3. That is becuase they think Kobe was/is too hard on them by making them practiced hard with him.
4. That becuase they think they are better than who Kobe asked for to be on that team.
I am not for getting rid of any one in the Lakers team but if these players will not pick up thier play, why not?
Spurcse thanks for the visit and your comment we appriciated it very much....LOL
GameStormC2C and Spurcse we seriously takes our family value...
Win or Loss we are a Family that the LAKERS team can called faithful fans .
Yes, We idolized different stars player from different team, but we don't like the team they play for: and No matter what, we rooted for the LAKERS to win on any game they played.
If one of our Idol's team played agains't the Lakers, we say, " oh..well! may the best man win.. Go Lakers!!!". So I guess you guys can say, "we all Love Kobe too"
