Look like the Media and Bloggers got their wished.....
Kobe & team mates will struggle for the rest of the season and the Lakers is in serious danger of sliding out of sixth place in the Western Conference and we're hoping not out of the playoffs.
Kobe's contract will expires soon , what a little less than 2 yrs?
He will never see a championship ever again until they get him a capable point guard or a more experienced team mates. Team mates that give their all and wants that championship.
Or.....he can go to another team with a coach that care about him and his team's need.
They need a PG, who makes his teammates around him better. That's not Kobe Bryant. He's not a leader. They need two decent players to compliment Kobe. Maybe Chauncey Billups? I hope not though. He'll hopefully resign with the Pistons.
Kobe will never win another championship until he learns that basketball is a team sport. Unfortunately, I don't think Kobe really cares...as long as he gets his points.
1. Fire Mitch Kupchake - he lost me after he passed on Baron Davis
2. Throw in the towel on both Binum and Brown - Binum is most definately not the next Shaq and Brown will sit out for a month with a broken fingernail.
3. Have Buss and daughter take less of a roll in team - Buss is suffering from old-timers and the daughter, well ask the coach.
4. Somehow, someway, get Jerry West back at least as a consultant.
5. Either have Jackson bid the triangle goodbye, or bid Jackson goodbye.
6. Get what you can for Kobe now, before he completely burns out and start all over again, because, this obviously is not working or improving.
Being from L.A. my favorite idea is to combine both the Clippers and the Lakers into one team, fire Dunlevy and Jackson and bring Larry Brown out of retirement.
Hoffman, I don't believe that anyone doubts Kobe's desire to win. The guy is an awsome shooting spectical, the system he's in now is not working, if he needs to score 50 points a game for the lakers to beat even a losing team, then my point is made. The problem is there is no real fix, the personnel they have now is not cutting it, and other than Odom, who is completely lost in the triangle, none are very good trade material.
Thank you all for your comments, Unbelievable that (the LAKERS) his team mates just never seem to find their rhythm and desires to WIN a championship the Whole season and it always come down to Kobe's FAULTS.
But we thought it would be the coach's attidude towards his Players to make the team play better.
Until the Lakers can find a true threat from 3 and a guy who likes to clean up the paint consider them pretenders. They have the Triangle in place with Kobe, Odom, and Kwame. Only problem is Odom is a defensive liability and they don't rebound that well. A staple in every one of Phil's title runs. Heck, even Bill Carwright was functional in the Triangle. If the Lakers seriously want to compete, find a Steve Kerr, a Bill Cartwright, or a Horace Grant. In fact I'll give them some suggestions. Jason Kapono from the Heat, and Marcus Camby from the Nuggets. Maybe they could make a trade for these two guys keeping Kobe, Odom, and Kwame intact.
Yes, these are pretty tough, and very illogical attempts for the Lakers to make, but it is what they need nonetheless.

Hoff, what we NBA fans see is too many games where Kobes takes close to 50% of the team shots.
The surrounding cast IS the problem.
Get some talent, make the D come to the ball and stop doubling up Kobes or making the guy think HE has to score. Does anyone doubt the guy is a HUGE talent. The Lakers have 3 good/great players and it's not enough.
Does Kobe even have confidence in his teammates?
I constantly refer to the Lakers as Kobe and the three bears.
