I'm not a New Yorker and I'm not a Bostonian. I've never been to either place. With that being said, here's my unbiased prediction on how the Super Bowl will pan out.
I think this game would be much closer if it weren't for the dreaded Super Bowl Bye Week. I'd love to watch a SB where teams didn't have two weeks to prepare for one another.
Since the outcomes of the previous Sunday, all I've heard is how the Patriots will do this and the Patriots will do that. And while every Silver & Black drop of blood of me hates to say this, they ARE a great team. But are they great enough to beat the Giants on the first Sunday in February? (Sounds like it's Easter, huh?........and, BTW, no SB should ever be played in February)
The Patriots breezed through the playoffs with their "B" game. They beat a Jacksonville team with a great rushing tandem, but a QB and WRs that left a lot to be desired. They looked vulnerable at times (Patriots' fans must admit) yet managed to win by 11.
In the AFC Championship game, they beat a Chargers' team that was without the league's best running back, the league's best TE (ok, he played, but y'all know he was hurtin') and an injured QB. I still can't believe a 100% Volek isn't better than a 70% Rivers, but I digress. All that said with Brady's three picks and the Pats still won by 9.
So here we go, Super Bowl XXLII. The Giants don't have the talent when you match 'em up. But they have a chance. And I'm not basing this on Week 17. Their front line is enough to give Brady headaches. Their secondary, despite being beat up, is enough to hang with Moss, Welker, Gaffney, Stallworth and the boys. On offense, let's forget about Peyton Jr. Eli aside, Jacobs and Bradshaw have enough fire power to tire out the Pat's defense. Burress & Toomer can keep the defense honest if Coughlin allows it.
It all boils down to coaching. We all know Belichick is a genius (and a cheater). His two weeks to prepare won't change our opinion of what we think he'll do. IT'S ALL ON COUGHLIN AND HIS STAFF. If they can prescribe an offensive game plan that mixes enough Jacobs, Bradshaw, Burress, and Toomer the Giants will win.
Both teams will have the same amount of turnovers (2) and both kickers will not miss in Arizona. When it all boils down, New York's special teams will be the difference. Their special teams' won't score, but it will be the difference.
FINAL SCORE: New York Giants 33 New England Patriots 27.
Hey dreamer, NY's "special team" won't be the difference. The GREATEST OFFENSE IN NFL HISTORY will be the difference! :-)
"If" coughlin and his staff prescribes an offensive game plan?
The Patriots WILL prescribe an offensive game plan with Moss, Welker, Stallworth, Gaffney, Watson, Faulk, Maroney and Kyle Brady - The same offense that scored 38 on NY with 5 mins left in the game!
THE SAME DEFENSE THAT SHUTDOWN TAYLOR & JONES-DREW, TURNER & SPROLES in the playoffs will now redeem itself for that year-end performance against an average offense.
Your team ALREADY played their superbowl against the Pats and lost, New York fan. Get ready for the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS to play their superbowl on the way to 19-0!!
Eli played as well as he's ever going to against the Pats in week 17 and it wasn't enough. As the Pats showed against the Chargers, Brady doesn't have to play well for them to win. I congratulate Eli for being the anti-A-rod (sucks in the season, hero in the playoffs), but try again next year.
I'd sure like to see some of the pregame analysis from SB XX (Bears 46 Pats 10), SB XXII (Redskins 42 Broncos 10), SB XXIV (49ers 55 Broncos 10)& SB XXVII (Cowboys 52 Bills 17) to name a few.
This game has all the ingredients to challenge the most one sided Super Bowl victory ever. In the game that holds that distinction, the Montana led 49ers took down the great John Elway with his "Three Amigos" receiving corp, a 1,000 yard rookie rusher and one of the top defenses in the NFL that year. The 49ers didn't have any message to deliver, they were simply one of the greatest teams to ever play the game.
New England is in line to become remembered as possibly "The" greatest team ever, plus they do have a message to deliver, just as you pointed out, they have been labeled cheaters (not to say that its right, but for doing something that had been going on for years among all the NFL teams, not just the Patriots. Check it out if you don't believe it. Anyway, it put the Pats on a mission). I expect to see the Giants down by two TDs by halftime with a suddenly predictable offense. It may get ugly...
that was baseball ... lets say it different maybe..... super bowl champs.....GIANT KILLERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! how about that!!!! ooops another baseball term the late mel allen!!!! owell good try
While a blow-out on the Pats side would be fine, it's just too boring when it's soo lopsided.
I think Manning will struggle in the beginning (as is usual). He will likely get into a rhythm through the middle, but if the Pats are up going into the fourth, he will probably get shaky again - this will be the Giants undoing.
As we have seen all season, if you start making mistakes on offense against the Pats - you will regret it.

Hey Patriots fans!
You really are hiding behind your talk now aren't you. You know an upset is coming so Tom (####DY) has to make up this story about his poor foot. Eli is not making any mistakes and that is what the patriots feed off. You know you feel an upset.
Do you realize how unbelievably foolish you sound by saying Tom ####dy? I mean really that's it? You have to attack a man's name because there is nothing else negative about him?
Ah but wait, you're a Giant's fan. I didn't notice. Excuse me. I forgot you have a triple 21 chromosome.
EDIT: Put 19 not 21. Oops.

Oh NY GiantFan10 - now did you just learn how to use the computer? You must be 7 years old. Didn't your mom tell you not to call people names? I wouldn't even think about calling Eli a name (he seems so sweet)
Anyway - a BIG BIG lesson will be coming your way on FEB 3. Pats will make history and you will learn that calling people names does not win the game. Patriots 42 G Men 10
I don't know what you have been smoking, but you should stop quickly! The Pats have been messing with the media ever since the 'taping' issue. They ran up the scores for a few weeks, then caught #### for that. They backed off - but still won. The junk about Brady's ankle is just that. And they are laughing all the way to Phoenix. This is going to be the BIGGEST blowout of the season - and Brady is shooting for some SuperBowl records to add to his tremendous season. Eli played a few good games, but the entire group lacks the teamwork and leadership of the Pats. Nobody can understand the Belichick mystique! A true genious, who got caught doing what everybody else does too. And he will have the last laugh!
As a lifetime Steeler fan, I can appreciate the fever of detestation for the New England Patriots. However, I cannot deny the remarkable resilience of the New England team. People would even say they are just lucky. But sometimes a team is just unbeatable and that is the way with the Patriots, they are on fire. All that set aside, I do know the Giants can come out with a win. The way the Giants are going to win by pile driving Brady. When Brady is under pressure he'll throw picks better than Grossman (no offense Bears fans). We witnessed it when they played the Bears last year and just recently when they played the Chargers, Ray Lewis and company gave him fits too. The offensive line is by far the biggest weapon in the Patriots bag of tricks and the least talked about. These guys up front are the biggest reason Brady is so good.
If the Giants D can control the line of scrimmage and get to Brady, Manning and Co. will do the rest.
As a lifetime Cowboys fan this game isn't as interesting as i thought it would be. So what the giants have won a few games. Its not comparible to an unbeaten season. And As every1 else has seen the pats defense can and will play great when they need to. And that offense is just explosive. Who remembers Moss running the same route two plays in a row in week 17? Giants couldn't stop him then and won't stop him sunday. Eli, expect to get hit early and often. This game has the potential of being real ugly. Sorry to say PATS over giants.
Fast track. Need to go back and look how many points the pats put up in warm weather. Pats will be able to pass. no wind, rain, cold. Pats 35 Giants 20. I am not even a pats fan.
Giants are going to win. You know the old saying cheaters always come out on the wrong end of the stick. I like the Browns but I have always liked the Giants unelss they play the browns. ANd I can still see Jimmy Johnsons face when they beat the cowboys. Thing is none gave them a chance. On any given sunday baby, GO GIANTS
evrey body who dose not belve in the new england patriot's don't know what there talking about. the patriot's will run the table because belichick will fined a way to run the score up. every body who think's the patriot's are cheater's don't know much about football. 42 to 10 new england.
The last time a team was favored by double digits in a Super Bowl was Tom Brady's first Super Bowl win over the 14 point favorite St Louis Rams (the greatest show on turf during that time).
The last time a team won three road play-off games in a row to go to the Super Bowl were the Pittsburgh Steelers. OH yeah, they also won the Super Bowl that year.
The last time a Manning was in a Super Bowl, his team won.
