So I am writing to discuss my very own and hopefully still local Seattle SuperSonics. Now with a starting line-up of Delonte West, Wally Szczerbiak, Kevin Durant, Chris Wilcox, and my boy Robert Swift. The usually inconsistent Sonics are a force to be reckon with. With Jeff Green coming off the bench, our distribution of the ball is going to be almost as good as when I used to play in my day.
So, you guys still don't think Robert Swift has got it. Well, my man Jack Sikma wouldn't let us down. He drafted him a couple years back and said "give him a couple years." So my friends it is that time. Time for Swift to come out of his 7 foot red headed shell. And he will, oh you just wait.
So the West is always amazing. Oh well, the East is on it's way up and that is perfect to take the attention off the Sonics. Besides the Suns, Spurs, Jazz, and Mavs, the Sonics can slide their way into a 5th through 8th spot. And then in the playoffs I don't even want to get started on what Durant is going to do to people. It is gonna be a good year. Now let's just worry about the SuperSonics being the Seattle SuperSonics...
Now I know what everybody is thinking, this is the same USA team that earned a bronze in the last Summer Olympics. But that my friends is where you are wrong. If you check out the possibility of this years starting line-up, cuts will occur closer to game time, you can see a more experienced, more competitive team. We got Deron Williams who was the team leader on the up and coming Utah Jazz, we got Kobe Bryant, who might take too many shots, but still has to be in the argument for best NBA player. We got LeBron James who I don't even need to discuss. Unless you have been under a rock for the last year you'll understand his credentials. We got Amare Stoudamire who controls down low. He's athletic, smart, and so quick for his size. Not to mention he's got the fire in his eyes now. Check out ESPN for his story.
We also got Dwight Howard playing center. I mean, I couldn't even get a shot off against this dude. His wingspan rivals that of the Great Wall. So, those are just some of the potential starters. I mean Carmelo probably has an amazing chance to start over any of those guys. There are just too many to battle for a 5 man starting roster. Off the bench we could see Dwayne Wade, Joe Johnson, Chris Bosh, Chauncey Billups, Bruce Bowen, among others like Shawn Marion and Gilbert Arenas.
There is no way these guys won't get it done this year. I mean they are too experienced after the disappointing appearance at last competition. Tell me what you guys think? The gold for the US, or will the USA again be filled with too many shots and not enough teamwork?
