For the first time this year, I'm going to do an informal blog, or more specifically, a rant. What about? Take a wild guess...
This is late of course, but the blogging just will not cease. "Kyle Busch wrecked Jr! I hate Kyle Busch! Kyle Busch won! WAA WAA WAA WAA WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Heading into this season, there was a small group of people who just disliked Kyle Busch because, well, all Nascar fans have a driver they hate, and he was that group's. But alright, that's normal, a few people aren't going to like the guy, so whatever. Then, Busch decided to win at Atlanta. IN A TOYOTA!!! That punk! Traitor to America! Now, I know, not too many people who said that (though there were people who did) but nonetheless they were added to the group of people who hate Busch, and all the while they are complaining about him, and other people were hearing this. Now, most would just shrug it off as jealousy, but some hearing/reading that would say, "Hey, they're right! Kyle Busch did win! That means my driver didn't win! That jerk!" Still though, the Kyle Busch Hate Society (KBHS) only has a small group of supporters.
Then a few weeks later, he gets into Johnny Benson in a truck race at Martinsville. "That bonehead! ####! Why would he do that?" Yes, shouldn't have done that, tried to get too much. BUT, you don't have to crucify the guy over it. However, the KBHS gains more supporters, but is still not too large...
Busch bumps with Jamie McMurray at Talladega, McMurray makes an incredible save. Almost nobody complains about the incident. Remember that...
Richmond. Oh geese. Now Shrub did it. He spun out god, err, Dale Earnhardt Jr. In just a few seconds, the KBHS gains over 40,000,000 members, all who are pissed that Busch would try to win a race with 3 laps to go. Of course that makes sense, I mean, who does that? Couldn't possible be hard racing by the two... nope, all Kyle's fault because Dale Jr. can do no wrong.
Now these 40,000,000 KBHS members all blog about how Kyle Busch is a punk and an ####, is going to KILL somebody with his driving, should be suspended, etc, etc.
Of course, there are the few unbiased witnesses who go, "Wait, that's racing." But they're not who I'm complaining about.
So anyway, we all know, we've probably read at least one of these blogs that spout hate for Busch, and now the notion that Busch wrecks people to win comes up, and all 40,000,000 believe it.
And Busch adds fuel to the fire, saying he'll do whatever it takes to win. Now some hear this and say, "Hey, that reminds me of a certain driver who used to drive a certain black car... maybe you've heard of him, his name was Dale Earnhardt, and he made this sport what it is."
And then there are those who take what he said too literally, "You see! He confirmed what we've been saying! He wrecks to win! He admits it! OMG, THAT JERK I HATE HIM AND HIS TOYOTA!!"
Then Kyle Busch really did it. He won the next race at Darlington. "OH MY GOD!!!! This punk has the audacity to do his job! And he did it while racing hard all night long and bouncing off the wall and still going faster than anyone else in the field all race, something thought to be impossible at Darlington! This just proves that he has no talent!"
Wait, wait, wait WHAT!?!?!?! What the hell did you just say? The fact the WON with a crippled car at DARLINGTON, aka TOO TOUGH TO FREAKIN' TAME, and smacked the wall and still did better than anyone else means he DOESN'T have TALENT!?!?!
I swear I think that if I thought too hard about it, I would have a seizure.
One thing that came up in the complaint box at the KBHS headquarters was "He almost wrecked Biffle." Yes, he got into Biffle near halfway, but where were you complaining when he accidentally got into McMurray? Biffle saved it and was fine, so why keep complaining if you didn't complain before? He obviously didn't get into Biffle on purpose, because he backed off and allowed him to save it, which is generally what a driver does when they hit the person in front of them and think, "Oops, didn't wanna do that, better give him some room so he can try to save it." But that's rational thought, and that doesn't help the arguement of the KBHS members. In my opinion, the McMurray incident was more wreckless than the Biffle one, but no complaints on that one so whatever... Then again that was before he wrecked god....
The whole point of this rant is that Kyle Busch is only hated because of a few highlighted mistakes (and dominating wins, damn he's a punk for winning) that all of a sudden represent his entire career. Here's my suggestion before someone writes another blog about Busch: clear you mind of what you think about Kyle Busch, look at his career, and not just highlights of him looking like a bad guy, and analyze them without bias, and then say what you think about Busch. And if you think Busch is bad, fine. Just come up with actual reasons. Don't just say "He won so I hate him. He wrecked god so I hate him. He is doing better than my driver so I hate him," actually come up with reasons that he's in the wrong. Otherwise, keep your thoughts to yourself, please.
Good night everyone, I'm sure I'm going to get pounded for this one, but that's how I see it, and if nobody can come up with real reasons why he's a bad driver, then I don't care.
Note- I know that Dale Earnhardt Jr. isn't god. I'm not claiming he is. I'm using this to show the extreme view some fans have. Of course not all Jr. fans don't see it this way, because not all Jr. fans think Jr. is perfect. But the extreme Jr. fans do, and they are the ones whining away. And they say us Gordon fans complain too much.
Note 2.0- I know more than just Jr. fans saw the Richmond incident as Kyle's fault. Just most of them who did were Jr. fans. The people who saw it as Kyle's fault that weren't Jr. fans mostly had a reason behind they're thinking, so my rant isn't aimed towards them. And most (hopefully) won't hold it against him for the rest of time like he committed murder.
Note 3.0- I'm sure I missed something, but keep in mind I'm not trying to group certain fans all together as having the same mentality, I'm just talking about the ones who do have that mentality. If your an exception, that's great, glad to know you're not biased or extreme in you views.
