Thousands of fans were left lifeless as the Lakers went down 3-1 to the Celtics. Whats worse was the fact that they blew a 24 point lead. Lamar Odom looked lifeless. Gasol was almost camtose, Sasha Vujacic was enraged. Derek Fisher looked more like a fish in a water, belly up i may add. And a Manic Kobe and Phil Jackson looked on helplessly as the Lakers lost a golden opportunity. What could have been a 2-2 series is now a 3-1 stranglehold on the NBA Finals. But as we all know its never over. Boston fans shouldn't look any further than last season's NFL SuperBowl. It all seemed but won, when the perfect New England Patriots took the lead over the slumping New York Giants. The Stadium and Pats' fans errupted when Rany Moss caught a go ahead touchdown from Tom Brady. with a little under a 2 minutes left. Thats when the amazing happened. Eli Manning not only evaded and should have been sack, but more likely he had the last laugh when he took the air out of a veteran team stockpiled with talent. With that being said, we all expect the Celtics to be holding the trophy up soon. But not so fast Boston nation. You of all people know about early celebrations. So until we see a 4-1 defeat, lets hold the champaigne, stop the parades, and play some basketball. The Lakers still have another game in Los Angeles, and all is needed to steal a game in Boston. At this point in time, thats wishful thinking. Before we all crown the Celts as champions before game 5, Unlike the Titans of the motion picture, we all need to remember the Patriots.
Save the smiles for now....You still have business to take care of.

The business really got taken care of itself last night as the Lakers succumbed to the Celtics like a virgin on her first night.
Wherein they got bagged and tagged for good measure. I wonder what the likes of Jack, Denzel , Dyan Cannon and all of the the Hollywood A listers are now doing at this present moment in time ?
While Kobe'll no doubt be a man of his word and get drunk. Can we really believe him ? The rest of the Lakers ought to burying their heads in shame !
See my NBA post on last night's game and let me know what you think as to the merits of the piece ? It's titled Moments ...Little Moments That So Clearly Define What A Team And A Player Can Be About ! I'll look forward to reading your comments.

The first half made me think the Lakers could take the series to 7, while the second half made me think it will likely be over in 5. Blowing such a huge lead, is not the work of a championship caliber team.
If the reffing was fair and Lakers didn't lose a huge lead they would have won 4-0, and even if they lost game 4 but the reffing was fair in the other games it would be 3-1 with 1 more in LA.
yes i have watched the series and yes in the nba its a game of runs...but since u think i haven't watched the series let me give a few pointers. first off i said we all think that the celts are gonna win..really read my post and second if l.a. had won the game 2 kinda like the celts won game 4...it would be a whole different ball game...or if the lakers had won game 2 and game 4 ...like i said whole different ball game the only difference..the celts made clutch free throws in the end..the and the lakers didn't win...same scenario different ending....so thats my reason..i'm not crazy..i'm also a realist...and yes i watched kobe say that...but still i am also a optimist also..and just like new england i wanted to see something that has never happend before...i was wrong...so even though its a different sport...who says the lakers can't win 3 in a row...i do remember them winning 4 in a row against a tough san antonio a couple years back..waht started as 0-2 ended up being a 4-2 lakers win...i'll never say never...in any game..thats all my post is saying...that anything can happen and putting doubts in the mind of both lakers and celtics fans....i also saw a 24 point lead in the first half....imagine if it wasn't blown...like i said..total different story...
Boston has been the better team. If Boston doesn't choke in game 3, they would have swept the series.
The officals have nothing to do with LA being down in the series. Once again, Boston is the better team. Take off your homer goggles and you would see this clearly.

There's nothing wrong with a little bit of optimism. But I'd hazard to say this isn't the elections of 2000 . So there's no chance of their being any sort of recount.
And as much as Stern would like this series to play out for a little bit longer I seriously doubt that it'll happen.

What prescriptive medication are you on ? If so get off it immediately. The Lakers aren't as good as first thought. They've been exposed and even the most ardent Laker fan knows it but they're too damn afraid to admit. But that's the fallacy that they all live with. Never one to admit it in public but behind closed doors things appear to be ever so different.
Hang on to that last shred of hope ... what a true lakers fan you are tm85. Even though it is nothing more than a pipe dream, hang to that hope.
Boston fans may celebrate right now all they wish, because they know it's over!
Don't expect the big 3 or Doc to celebrate. That's different. The big 3 are mature adults as well as mature NBA pros. You can't say that about most of the Lakers. The big 3 will hold that celebration until the last second. Boston fans however have a right to feel good.

There's one difference we saw heart from the Sox . What we're seeing from the Lakers are them being gutless and if anything showing us all that they haven't got any willpower .
Now let's see if we'll get all of the infantile excuses so often heard when a team gets exposed as being nothing more than average at best. Where was the sense of urgency from this team ? And as for leadership it'd appear that Bryant either seems to have lost it or he just didn't appear to have it it when it mattered most.
First off Happy Fathers Day to all the sports lovin Dads out there.I dont know about any one else but its like Christmas for me today because i cant wait to see the Celtics finish off "Team Whine " tonite. At the same time in another part of California i was amazed at the way Tiger played yesterday, and im really looking forward to see if he can finish off the rest of the pack.I wish you Lakers fans the best but i must say your team isnt the 2004 Red Sox ,or even the Yanks for that matter. You had your chance to do your talking on the floor and if you are going to blame the refs for being in the position you are in then you need to blame the refs for being in the finals period..I will admit the Celtics are not the team from the 80s and sadly for Lakers fans your team isnt either, the difference is this years Celtics are much better then the old and your team is just okay........... the sooner you realize that the sooner you can start the healing process....never mind tonites game , Lakers win 2 at Boston ? Do you actually think that could ever happen? are you watching the same series as i am ?
