Round and Round We Go....
Sep 19, 2007 | 11:07AM | report this

Where we stop???? Hell If I know!

Yea, that's right. I am back! I haven't been running from anything... just been busy with the kids and life.

But back to the topic at hand. Atlanta is on a QB Merry Go Round and personally I am getting dizzy.  Oh over the years... we have been through soooo many!  Chandler, then Farve, then Vick, then Schaub, then Harrington, now Lefty.  When will we get it right?

Being a Vick fan, I learned my lesson in that the QB will ALWAYS get the wrap no matter if the team is winning or loosing. So sometimes it can be a good wrap... or a bad wrap.  But let's face it here... the Falcon's Offensive Line sucks and has for a VERY long time!  When Vick was playing they couldn't hold the line for more than three seconds so he more often than not was rushing.  Of course Vick took the blame there as he didn't stay in the pocket long enough.  Now the O-Line has improved to providing coverage for about 5 seconds but  Harrington stays in the pocket too long.  At least with Vick he would run.  There was no way in hell that Vick would've been sacked 14 times in two games. News flash to Harrington - our O-Line is small and cannot provide coverage to you for more than 5 seconds, so move the ball either by passing or rushing. I could care less.... as long as it gets yardage in the right direction.

So what in the hell is going on here in Atlanta?? Is it that Vick had a lack of self confidence so he ran with the ball versus throwing it?  Is is that Harrington has a lack of self confidence so he holds the ball for too long?  What will Lefty bring to this team that the two previous have not??  Or, is it just as simple as the offensive line sucks and it's all their damn fault?  Hmmm....

However, how bout them Jackets? YEA BABY!

To Trade or Not To Trade, That is the Question.

As fox just recently reported... and this just in...

The Oakland Raiders are preparing to make a run at Falcons QB Michael Vick, according to NFL sources. The Raiders package would include receivers Randy Moss and Jerry Porter plus the No.1 overall pick in the 2007 draft for Vick and the Falcons first round pick (10th overall).

Posted January 22, by Ben Maller

Now, the Raiders seem to be willing to pay a REAL hefty price for Vick. Atlanta has been through so many changes this year already and it seems as though there is a real possiblilty that another one is a comin.

I have supported Vick from day one, even through all his trials and tribulations. However, with the recent events at the Miami Airport, I became increasingly frustrated with him and I am not even the one signing his paycheck. So I can only imagine what Mr. Blank may be thinking.  Then, it comes out that the tests came back negative for marijuana.  This one is definatley tricky. Were they targeting him because he is Mike Vick? Maybe.  Was there a payoff envolved just to make it all go away? Possibly. But the official report says, nope, no dope.  Now that we have that all straightened out, his head is on the trading block.

It's difficult being a fan sometimes, especially when your team isn't performing the way you'd like. And as a football fan, one of my lifelong dreams is to someday own my own NFL team. Now, I am not so sure. I really don't know if I could choose between being loyal to a player, and doing what may be best for the team. Sure, this would be cake for some folks, but I have an utter sense of loyalty, even when people screw up. That would probably explain why I have had so many ####ed up relationships.

Anyhow, is this what's best for the Falcons? Maybe. Will Mr. Blank really do it? Possibly. So tell me, if you had your say which way would you sway?

There is Only One Race to Blame
Jan 03, 2007 | 5:31PM | report this

GURNEE, Ill. (AP) - Police seized about 550 rounds of ammunition from the home of Chicago Bears defensive tackle Tank Johnson during a raid last month, according to new court documents.

"Johnson was charged with six counts of possession of a firearm without a gun-owner identification card. Authorities said they found a semiautomatic rifle with 19 live rounds in the master bedroom, four unloaded weapons - two rifles and two handguns - and a loaded .45-caliber handgun under a leather chair in the basement."

I know in the past we have deliberated about some athletes and their "thuggish" conduct.  Questions like: Is hip hop causing people to shun away from the NBA?  Who will our kid's watch growing up? There were even some people blaming a particular race for the current issues that arise in the sport's world.

We all have our different opinions, don’t we? Of course we do. Can we just "disagree instead of disrespect” each other? It is the 20the Century and I would like to think so. Needless to say, this is why I will give my opinion on this matter, especially this case in point. I will not go on for days, my answer is pretty simple.

There is only one race to blame, and that is the human race. People come in all shapes, sizes, colors, with their own demeanors and personalities. Sometimes even multiple personalities. And life does not imitate art; art imitates life, so you can't always blame inappropriate behavior on external influences. Some of us grow up in the battlefields of America, or in the burbs, or if we are among the 10%, in Euphoria.

Now Tank Johnson, he must of grew up DEEP in the battlefields, seeing as the only thing he was missing, was a Tank (and some screws).

And it's not just the players....

I was stunned when I read this.  Seems as if the Giant's owner's son got into a physical altercation with an Eagles Fan Stock Broker on the New York Stock Exchange Floor!  Yea, after this guy acquires lawyers (which are probably lining up at his door), Mr. Stephen Mara will be selling some stock... of his own.  Check out the story below courtesy of NFL Fanhouse on AOL Sports.

Damnit man!!! Another spoon fed hood rat!

Why is it always the QB's fault???
Nov 29, 2006 | 7:02PM | report this

I just have to say something about this.. I am pretty BLEEPed off!

Part of being a real fan is to support your team even when they loose. That seems to be a problem here in Atlanta. All the news stations were reporting how Michael Vick made an "obsene" gester to some fans in the dome after the game against New Orleans this weekend. However, the fans he was directing this to, were booing the Falcons as they exited the field. This is the last thing a team needs after any loss, especially from the people they play for. This is bull####!!! .

I can't stand it when people wear jerseys if a team is winning, but are ashamed to do so when they are loosing. Teams shouldn't be a fad or trend - that is only for fairweather fans.

After this loss, being sacked (becuase of problems with our offensive line), throwing good passes that were dropped by receivers [damn... they want him to start throwing the ball, then he does, but no one can catch them], and being booed by his own home town "fans", he is then ridiculed by the media and preesured (most likely) by management to release an apology. Mike, if this comes back to you... it should be the fans issuing you an apology. We know it's not like you to react that way, but you should know.... us real fans don't treat our team that way either! Mike may be a professional, but he is human. HUMAN people, just like the #### who was heckling. That fan is the reason why they should either limit alcohol consumption at games to two beers, or stop selling it all together. Oh, but then that would cut into profits now wouldn't it??

And there wouldn't even be any damn profits in Atlanta if they hadn't brought Vick here. I remember when I could pay 30 bucks to sit 3rd row, 50 yard line right behind the bench. Now?? I would have to buy it from a season ticket holder for at least $275. Football is a business people, not a place for laxy parents to send their kids to look for role models. Anyway, not everyone acts the same way, or has the same personality. So to expect everyone to follow the rules all the time is luducris. If life were that easy, there would be no rules.

He broke the rule, apologized, and was given his fine. Hell, he didn't knee someone in the groin for gods sake.

Those jerks in the stands deserved that gesture! They should consider themselves lucky that's all they got! Too bad eveyrone else around them was to drunk to knock some sense into them!!
