The Lakers handled the Nuggets with relative ease to close out round one of the playoffs--broom in hand. Well, it turns out, Andrew Bynum was having a good time this weekend as well. Iggy Cohn of the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat's blog, "Cohn vs. Cohn" (also a UCLA student) had this to say:
Thursday night my fraternity, Sigma Nu, threw its quarterly house
party. Andrew Bynum, the injured center for the Los Angeles Lakers, the
twenty-year-old former 1st round pick, was at the party. Word started
to spread around the party of his presence, but no one could find him.
Then suddenly he emerged from one of my friend's rooms with two girls
and a small entourage of Sigma Nus following behind him. Everyone who
had a camera or a cell phoned rushed towards him to get a picture.
Bynum walked out of the hall, down a flight of stairs, and into the
center of the dance floor, where he danced with the two girls. I don't
know what this means about the state of his knee, or if he'll be able
to play for the Lakers this post-season. But I do know that he can walk
down stairs and dance to fast paced hip hop. [Santa Rosa Press-Democrat] Now, I'm not a big fan of muckraking into athletes' personal lives, but I do find this interesting. Fortunately, the media hasn't beat him up over it, and I don't think something like this will come back to bite him... It's not like he's rolling with Lachey. All in all, he is a 20 year old kid. Had he attended college (and not left early), he'd still be there. Reports are saying that he's been doing just about everything shy of 'full-contact' workouts, so I doubt a little bit of dancing is going to throw anything off. The best thing of all is that Bynum was said not to be drinking. At all. Which I believe, considering his comments from the past on drinking, smoking, and tattoos.
The majority of Lakers fans don't seem to care about this situation, and in my entirely unbiased opinion, I don't either. I don't even like calling it a "situation," however, since it didn't make it to the major news sources (and rightfully so), I'm anxious to see what you all think.
He is a sexy black man!! WOW`
believe it or not , seems she ever appeared at one club called uniformedcupid.com he is soo attractive to the girls there!!i wish i could find such black guy some day! !
Not to worry, Kareem has The Big Drewski on a tight leash and was calling him on his cell at the top of every hour to check up.
I keep telling all the people who say that Bynum won't be back this year... you wait and see, the Lakers are just waiting for the right time.
The Lakers have this thing about KEEPING THINGS UNDER WRAPS.
Nobody knew about the Pau Gasol trade happening except for maybe a handful of people outside the organization. I was one of them.
I wrote about the Lakers needing to pick up Gasol one year before the trade happened. The night before the trade was announced I called KLAC 570, spoke to Joe McDonnell, Joe Grande, and Matt "Money" Smith and told them the Lakers ought to trade for Pau and they said I was crazy because Memphis would never give him up.
And nobody is going to know when Bynum comes back either, but I'm willing to bet a nickel he'll be back just in time for the Western Conference Finals or NBA Finals.
the lakers are a good team without bymum.in order to be a great team and to compete with boston, you have to have bymum and gasol.without bynum i predict boston in five games.with bynum lakers in six, so please please hurry back bynum and show your worth.the lakers need you badly..........
Boston's failure in crunch time has been extremely evident against the Hawks, a bona-fide bottom feeder and the worst team in the playoffs.
The Lakers made history by being the first team to sweep a 50 win team in a best of 7 series, averaging double digits in their 4 wins throughout their series. The offense has been running beautifully, and the Lakers have been getting defensive stops at all the right times.
The Celtics have yet to win a game on the pathetic Hawks' floor. Their offense stagnates during close games. They are primarily a jump-shooting team, with no bonafide low post presence (KG is a jumpshooter, whether you believe it or refuse to), nor a slasher that can get to the rim at will (both Paul and Allen are strictly shooters that use the drive as a 2nd option).
The Lakers have both, one of the league's best benches, the best passing offense in the game, and a 9-time coaching champion.
As of right now, with the way the Lakeshow is playing, we could beat Boston in 6 games, even without Bynum.
haha "Money Smith"
I laugh every time i hear it like that because Sasha Vujacic is one of the only people that calls him that instead of Matt Money Smith, or just Matt Smith.
Well Dam!!! If he's getting his boogie on why the heck are we not having him boogie on the basketball court!? Can you imagine if he came back for round two of the playoffs!? WOW right…I really hope we can have him ready to pound on the Jazz and Spurs!
Heck let the lad dance away......as long as it's not break dancing or locking.
Like they say in the sone "Two girls for every boy"
When he comes back the Lakers will be DOMINATE!
See you on the court soon, till then live and let live.
lakerssincedayONE: i dont think he'll make a huge impact if he comes back.
“I think without a doubt that Andrew would come off the bench and we would play him a little bit off the bench if there was any chance that he could come back and play again, but it’s such a remote thing. We’re not seriously thinking about it."
-Phil Jackson

Leave it to Phil to downplay the return of Andrew Bynum in the playoffs, the same Andrew Bynum who was freakin' the ladies and twistin' and turnin' those knee caps dancing to Flo-Rida's "Low".
I'm not surprised at all. Think about it. If Andrew wasn't coming back, wouldn't they just come out and say Andrew's done for this season? The fact that Phil has even mentioned that Bynum is coming off the bench should tell you all you need to know.
Why reveal to the enemy if and when your biggest weapon will return? Why give the enemy a chance to prepare if they know when Bynum will come back? Why give the enemy a chance to attack your strengths? Why not appear weak so you can attack the enemy when strong and when they least expect it?
Taken straight from Sun Tzu's "The Art of War", it's Part Strategy, Part Psychological Mind Games, Part Zen, and All Phil.
You're right, TIMMOORE2, Andrew is going to "[get] his game on".
I'm a realistic observer of the vast world that surrounds the Los Angeles Lakers. You can thank Nick Van Exel, Eddie Jones, Elden Campbell, Cedric Ceballos, and Vlade Divac for making that possible. The greatest person of all time is Francis Dayle "Chick" Hearn. There's no getting around that. Me? I'm eighteen years old and working my way to a journalism degree.
