Let's not get too excited just yet, but the Lakers are playing good basketball.
In their past two games, the Lakes have played the kind of ball that we would get maybe three or four times a month over the past couple of years.
Kobe seems happy, Fisher is leading the offense better than any point guard since... Derek Fisher, and the kids are making things happen.
Remember last night, when I was all excited about five Lakers in double figures?
Well tonight, the Lakers had SIX with 10 or more.
The Lakers are playing similar to the way they were early on last season, before the injury bug hit. Does a healthy team mean that this kind of play stays consistent? I think there's a good possibility.
Kobe scored his obligatory 33 points, and got everyone excited, blocking an Andrei Kirilenko two handed jam in the fourth. D-Fish scored 19, And Andrew Bynum held down the fort down low with 9 rebounds and 15 points. Jordan Farmar, Ronny Turiaf, and Luke Walton all posted dubs.
Yeah, I know, we're only three games in, but to my utter disbelief, the Lakers are playing solid basketball.
Loved it. Of course we'll have some token #### come in and say Kobe won that game, but I think the team play was pretty damn obvious.
Everyone seems to forget that the Rockets were most successful last season when Yao was out and T-Mac the only legit star on that squad. They got by on hard play, teamwork, and damn good defense. Same with the Cavs of last season. If the Lakers buckle down on D and play smart basketball, they can be a pleasent surprise.
I like your enthusiam but to dismiss Kobe as "obligatory" is immature. Not ten guys in the NBA can be "obligatory" at 13-19 shooting which is what you Kobe haters constantly bleat about. Not too many shots, high % completions and always turns it on in the 4th quarter when needed. Jesus Christ what does it take to get some kind words for Kobe? You people claim to be Laker fans then brush off a Hall of Performance by the best player in the game. You ruin what the rest did when you brush off Kobe. How about the ball he fumbled and dove and saved it back into a teammate when Walton and Kwame fumble they put into the basket for the other team. Yeah Bynum and Farmar did great. Rad reverted to his usual bricks as did Walton.
And you Lakersfan are the most immature ignorant braind dead #### hoodrat fan in the entire laker fans world. You claim Kobe doesn't lead and then say Kobe didn't win the game tonight. Without Kobe the game would have been long lost. Without Bynum or Farmar Kobe would have just shot more and the game could have still possibly been won. Jesus what a ####.

i didn't take that statement as you bashing Kobe. Kobe played an excellent game and without him the lakers would lose 50 games easily. I'm happy to see Fisher back, and the bench seems to be stepping up. Good Job Lakers. Let's keep it up.

Like I said in your blog, I was so concerned with #### Kobe humpers like yourself that I didn't give 24 his just due. Excellent game from Kobe, and he deserves all the credit in the world. 79 more games like this from him and I'll actually get a little respect back for him.
You're a complete #### in everything else you said though, so as usual you made one good point followed by a million stupid ones.

As I've been saying all along, THE LAKERS ASSAULT IS COMING.
We are not trading Kobe. We never will. Kobe wants to be a Laker for life and that's a fact. He's said it before.
We are not trading Odom, Bynum or anyone else. Maybe only Cook.
We have size. We have athleticism. We can run-n-gun. We can play half-court. We have the best player and coach in the game. We have wingmen, slashers, guys who can post up. We have role players who bring a ton of energy off the bench. We have veteran presence. And above all, we have youth and balance.
This team is so scary, that only people who really know basketball know what I'm talking about. Everyone else who can deny this are simply hating.
The Lakers can play with any team in this league. Utah is tough but they have no one to contain Bynum. The only team that will give the Lakers fits is San Antonio or Houston or perhaps Denver because all three teams have centers. The rest of the teams are cakewalk for L.A.
I feel soooooooo bad for the entire state of Arizona because we are about to bust their @sses this year.
The way Phoenix looked in their first three games lets me know this...

1) The SMURFS' lack of size will absolutely KILL them this year (they have been outrebounded in all three games by sorry Seattle, the Lakers, and the undermanned Cleveland Cavs)
2) Amare's lingering knee problems will spell doom for the Suns. If Bynum, Turiaf, and Brown can limit Amare to 7 points and 1 rebound, imagine what the rest of the West can do to this overhyped new version of Antonio McDyess.
3) Mike D'Antoni is not as good as everyone thinks he is. Phil Jackson is already in his head.
4) If Steve Nash ends up having to carry the load offensively, then expect the Suns to lose in the first round because come May, Nash's back will be all but done, Amare's legs will be worn out, and the rest of the Suns players will have zero confidence once they realize they can't #### with the bigger teams (Houston, Utah, Lakers, Dallas, Denver, New Orleans)
5) The signing of Grant Hill, although beneficial for them, was the wrong move. The Suns poor upper management decisions should have realized that in this league you need big men. Why do you think Kurt THomas skipped town? Because he knew that the SMURFS are not as good as everyone thinks they are. Phoneix should have gone after C-Webb, Magloire, or PJ Brown, but they didn't and that's why they'll never make it to the FINALS.
I'm a realistic observer of the vast world that surrounds the Los Angeles Lakers. You can thank Nick Van Exel, Eddie Jones, Elden Campbell, Cedric Ceballos, and Vlade Divac for making that possible. The greatest person of all time is Francis Dayle "Chick" Hearn. There's no getting around that. Me? I'm eighteen years old and working my way to a journalism degree.
