Did i misread the headline or something? It said Roenick signs a 1-year deal with San Jose. I guess the last 2 seasons didn't really convince him to retire. Well I for one have to give him his props to comeback. He wants to get 500 goals (should have got it by now), and win a stanley cup (something that he probably won't get). I don't want to bash the guy, but I really think that he has played on some bad teams (Chicago, Phoneix, LA Kings, and Philadelphia). He had one chance in 1992, but Pittsburgh was better than his Chicago Blackhawks that season. He nearly did it with Philadelphia, but it was not meant to be. Roenick' is a media darling when it comes to issues with the NHL. He would make a great analyst some day. But bottom line, I don't see him winning a stanley cup with the Sharks. They have too many young players, and not enough veterans. One of the reasons they continue to be ousted during the playoffs the last 2 seasons. There is no doubt that Roenick will help the Sharks in any way. Besides he has something to prove to himself, and the league. As much as I want to see him win a championship in San Jose, I just don't see it! But if he proves wrong, than so be it
Well Mike Keenan is at it again! this will be his 8th coaching job in the NHL. Well all the coaching stops have ended ugly. I really hope Calgary is getting there money worth. I wonder what Jim Playfair did to lose his coaching gig. I mean he got the Flames into the playoffs. They did well in the regular season. There playoff series with Detroit was a very strange 6 game series. Well Mike Keenan has won a stanley cup (with the Rangers in '94), and lost 3 other times. But lately his other coaching jobs have not gone so well. This is an unusual situation, unless Calgary feels they are going to turn it around. I hope that is the case, but this one will be fun to watch.
Wow! What a shock, I wonder who is the person that said that there would be no coaching change in St Louis, this season. Where is that person, now? First things first! I am not shock at this. For John Davidson to make a move like this one, a panic move. Hockey in St. Louis is just not the same. Sadly it is getting worse, not better. All you Blues that had a reason to hope, it just crashed.
Hey Red Wings fans, do you really think you team is going to win a stanley cup with this guy. He is going to be 42 years old, and he wasn't even healthy with Ottawa (last season). I just find this amazing that the Red Wings have on-going goaltending issues. It has been happening for years, in detroit. Unlike the boston Bruins, who always can't seem to hang on to a goaltender for more than 2 years. It has been a long time since Andy Moog that they kept a goaltender for more than 2 years (Tim Thomas). Back to the Red Wings, Dominik Hasek has had a tough time staying healthy during most of his NHL tenure. I hope you folks in Detroit don't think he will win a stanley cup for y'all. I wouldn't bet the farm on this guy. Sure he is still a good goalie, just not a healthy one
