I would like to commend the Oakland Raiders for being slopply, in there selection of picking Josh McNown instead of Daunte Culpepper. Oakland still did not win the game, but at least JaMarcus Russell is in camp. So that is the good news, what took so long?? I am wondering how this is going to play out for the Raiders. Culpepper had the better preseason than McNown, but yet they still went with McNown. I really don't understand that one. Is there any smart fans out there that can explain this one? Huh?? Anybody?
Russell may turn out to be an overrpaid bust, but let's hope not. They probably chose McNown because he's not the injury risk that Culpepper has been. I agree that they should've started Culpepper from jump street, but it's the Raiders, it's Al Davis. Who knows what's going to happen?
the raiders are completely inept...? does that answer your question?
i didnt see the game, but i did see a few highlights (or lowlights, depending on how you look at it) and the stats, and i didnt think mcCown played that bad. 30-40, 313 yards, 75% completion, 2 TD/2 INT. (i might be thinking of the vikings/falcons game here, but...) didnt at least 1 of mcCown's passes hit the intended receiver before being picked off?
anyway, i probably would have gone with culpepper too, but i dont think mcCown played that poorly.
I don't think the raiders are comfortable without having a little controversy in their life. Starting Mc was a headscratcher although he did look good % wise but the two int's and fumble go against what kiff has him out there for. Also, jano must go , no offense get it ? With him being Al's selection he may be a Raider for life. Al,you have one foot in the grave and if you continue to deny Jano being a bust you are going to roll over and die so add some yrs to that decrepid body and withdraw Jano's "scholarship"
