You know even Tony Jr. is okay with a penalty if Nascar decided to hand one out but I think they got ridiculous. I have to wonder if it had been a Hendrick's car if the penalty would have been as severe. They always seem to use a different scale when it comes to them. I know they will rebound and get back those points and who knows with Tony Jr. having some time off at the track they can work on getting that box car better. I wish Jr. luck on his new team whatever he decides. The red army will support him!!!!
I used to love following Nascar but ever since 2001 it has really gone down hill. I still love the drivers/crew and feel for them. Hopefully, nascar will wake up and smell the coffee.
You know I would have thought if there was one diver that Nascar love to promote more than or at least as much as The hendrick cars it would be Dale jr. I gues I was wrong
Hey Old Timers, remember when they hit Mark Martin for an illegal manifold? It did not add anything to the car but they still hit him so hard that it cost him the championship. Dale Sr. was designated to win that year, he did and Mark was in the way. Dale had a bolt in dash at the same race and NASCAR never said anything about it. A sharp reporter published a picture showing how obvious it was.

Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knauss at DAytona 06 had mulitiple very, very serious and intentional infractions included a device built by Knauss to lift the rear window 3/4 inch after inspection.which is a Gigantic aerodynamic adavantage on a superspeedway.
Now Thats deliberate and Blatant Cheating, and even Johnson admitted they were "crossing the line."
Dale Jr has a improperly made mounting plate that not even made by DEI which means it could be intentional, but not likely because the only penalties Dale Junior's had recently was when he said "sh-it" on TV.
The difference::
Knauss== blatant cheating and admittedly intentional $25,000 and 3 weeks.
Dale JR=not likely that DEI cheats intentional because they always have horrible cars.
$100,000 and 6 weeks..
Its been over a year ago since the #48 team got busted. Since then, there has been more, lets just call it cheating.. and now with the arrival of the COT and still yet more cheating... I have to believe that the penalty and fines handed to the #8 team were more severe for a reason. Obviuosly, previous penalty's and fines did not detour the #8's cheating. Lets hope that this time, it will for all teams.
A different scale is so true! I think it's time they back off junior and pick someone else to "make an example of"!!!!!! Give me a break NASCAR, your pissing off the fans!!!
Does anyone else think it's time for another sanctioning body besides NASCAR? Someone, or some group needs to step up and bring back the racing I used to look forward to each weekend. NASCAR has legislated the racing out of racing and created a 4 hour commercial for the sponsers.

As a passionate open wheeled racing fan, I can only say that I strongly encourage the development of a competing sanctioning body for "stock cars". CART and the IRL helped turn the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing" into the "Still Really Cool Race, But Where's All The Name Drivers and Corporate Sponsors".
You know Dale SR. wouldn't even be able to race like he always has, everytime someone bumps the wrong car there is a penalty or Nascar scolds ya for aggressive racing. it is so dumb, oh well got to run ya all ahve a great day.
I am a diehard Nascar fan and in case you can't tell a devoted Dale Jr. fan. Wherever he goes my husband and I will still be here. We live in a small town in Mi. Try each year to go to at least one race. Our fav is bristol. But this year we went to Martinsville and are going to MIS in August. I work a lot but make time for my Nascar. We watch anything Nascar on Speed. Do like the outdoors, and love summer. Really am not a winter kind of person. I know live in the wrong state for that.lol. Hope to remedy that someday. We live for our family too, they are tops.
