After reading today's announcement that 1 of the now 5 suspects in the Sean Taylor murder case pleaded guilty and is to be sentenced to 29 years, I have finally hit the point where I can't take any more. I am so sick of a judicial system that continues to reward bad behavior with "deals" and reduced sentences and slaps on the wrist. Now I understand that MAYBE these guys who broke into the house did not intend to kill him... but they did. One of my mottos in life is "Don't start none, Won't be none" i.e. If they didn't decide to break into that house - WITH GUNS -  in the firts place, then his baby daughter would stil have a father, his girlfriend would still have a provider for her and her baby and I would still be able to enjoy watching Taylor play in the NFL. I am certainly a supporter for the death penalty IF a murder is commited as a sensless act upon an innocent person. Especially if it is a child and it's  premeditated. I realize that there are a lot of grey areas and I don't believe that these 5 young men should be put to death but they should undoubtedly be put away for the rest of their lives. All of them!! ...and maybe the next time some young (or old) punks decide to break into someone's house just because they have money, they will thinkotherwise. I know that studies have been conducted to prove that the death penalty would not decrease the murder rate but I just can't seem to believe that at all. If, in every US state, it was a known fact that - if you commit a premeditated, sensless murder - you would get death within let's say 2 years, regardless of appeals and retrials and such which, in many cases  keep violent murderers alive for decades. I can't help but to beleieve that if I was a person who was thinking about murdering someone for whatever the reason, that I would think twice (maybe 10 times) about doing it. I am no expert on the subject but common sense tells me that this has to be true. When a murderer gets sentenced to LIFE in prison they get exactly that, LIFE... and to hell with all that BS that they "suffer in jail" and they have to "think about what they did for the rest of there lives"... most of them are psychopaths who don't feel remorse (Not really) and who have no regard or respect for human life. They will go to jail and have access to all that we as law abiding tax paying citizens do.... college, internet, food, sicko pen pals who marry them, visits with their families, interviews with the media etc You know, things you get to do when you are ALIVE.  They get to breathe, eat and sleep just like the rest of us, excpet they are in jail. The person who was killed gets DEATH and their families are the ones who suffer for the rest of their lives.

I realize I have touched a few different topics here and I plan to use my blog mostly for the advocation of pro athletes - who I feel, for the most part are unfairly labeled as jerks, cry babies, spoiled people who don't know what they'v'e got. STOP HATING, HATERS!! These men and women are people just like you and me. Yes, some may be a**holes and some may act like their sh** doesn't stink but just because Terrel Owens is a loud mouth doesn't make him a bad person. He doesn't affect my life due to I (as well as most people who bad mouth him) HAVE NEVER MET THE MAN!!  We are just plain dumb as fans and people because we let the the media influence our judgement of these atheletes as people instead of just watching them for their athletic ability and leavng it at that. If Chad Johnson is in the news complaining about his team that does not make him a bad person. They go out there every sunday and give 100% on the field. Where I do have a problem is when these atheletes have all that most of us dream of and they commit crimes see: Ray Caruth, Nate Newton and expecially Pac Man Jones.

To be continued.....

ABOUT ME

tbuk
I am a sports fan. Period. I like to watch athletes... not get involved in their personal lives as fed to me by the media. I enjoy watching players like Lebron and Kobe fly high and shoot the 3. I love to see Randy Moss and Tom Brady hook up for a deep strike. I can't get enough of Alexander Ovechkin's or Sidney Crosby's ridiculas skills and intense effort on game nights. I have never met any of these athletes. I don't care if they give money to charity or if they have a reality show (Although Deion and Pilar is down right hilarious) or if they shoot their mouths off on Sportscenter.
If they stay out of legal trouble and give 100% on the field that's all all that should matter.
