Kyle Korver in Retrospect

I've refrained from making any Sixers posts over the last several, several weeks for the simple fact that I am still distraught and disgruntled over the Kyle Korver trade.

Far be it from the fact that he was my favorite player on the team, Korver was that hard to find sharp shooter that could come off the bench and change a game. He allowed the 76ers to cross off two needs on their roster: 3 point shooter and sixth man. By trading Korver, the Sixers lose 10 points off the bench and their only real 3 point threat. The Sixers are 2-8 since trading Korver, and their 3 point percentage has been well below 30%.

The Sixers got nothing in return. They received a draft pick that they can’t use until 2009 at the earliest, and a guy in Gordon Giricek that they have no plans to play.
