Wow another great game. I thought the Mavs clinched it when Devin Harris buried the J with 4 seconds left. But back on the other end the leagues Most Improved Player Boris Diaw hits a silky J for the game winner.
I'll get to the MVP candi and the MVP in a second.
This game had another fascinating duel. Devin Harris continues to improve and amaze with thirty points and 5 steals. That is some nice numbers from a youngster. And then to have the fortitude to hit the "almost" game winner. I am cheering for Nash and the Suns in this one, but I do not dislike the Mavs, so I thought that Harris J was a killer and fitting end to a great game 1 in Dallas.
But Then. In the words of Will Smith "here come the MIP's" or maybe it was MIB. Anyway the MIP Boris Diaw in traffic hits a tuff little hook for the real game winner. That going along with his 34 points and 6 boards. Man it seems like Forever ago that he was averaging 4.8 points a game for the Atlanta Hawks, but that was last season.
Now Dirk and Nash. WOW!!! Great duel from the old pals. Dirk putting up vintage Shaq numbers with 25 points and 19 boards. This is the same foreigner that many grilled for settling for treys and being soft in the paint. Give Avery Johnson credit he is utilizing all of Dirk's athletic ability. Dirk is driving and getting old fashion 3's and collecting 19 boards. Great game.
And of course my boy Steve Nash. Back-to-back MVP's for a reason. 4-0 in game 7's. Comes into his old house and just puts on a show. A breathtaking 27 points and 16 assists to go with 5 rebounds. His team had basically lost with 3 or so minutes left down 9 on the road. But ol Nashy drills trey's and dishes on the pic and roll and BAM a 12-2 run Suns up 1 with 30 or so tics left on the clock. Awesome basketball.
Also Mr. I do everything Shawn Marion did everything as usual. You just can't ignore his defense and offensive contributions. Typical 24 points, 13 boards, 2 steals, and 3 blocks. And that is just typical Marion. Ridiculous.
And I'll keep pointing it out on every blog I see about this.......A little black point guard with 18 points and 11 assists a game, who is a liability on defense would never win the MVP.
the little black guy would probably be called for traveling a record # of times...and would be called a ballhog..and be criticized for turning the ball over...and dribbling too much...
he too would have been criticized for supporting his teammate taking a cheapshot on a star in a playoff game...lol
Not if the team made the playoffs without there leading scorer from the previous year and ran the most efficient offense around that little black guy.
I think there has been alot more black MVP's than white MVP's. MVP stands for Most Valuable Player not best scorer or highest jumper or darkest skinned athlete.
one mo thing. MVP may be a regular season award but you either make the voters looks smart or dumb in the postseason. With 10 points in the final 3 minutes on the road and the assist to give the team a lead. I would have to say the little white boy is making the voters look like GENIUSES right now!!!
2 mo things homey:
1.im not talking about other years..im talking about this year..
2. your point is irrelevant...b/c game 7 showed that kobe was more valuable when no one else could hit a shot...
1. You wanted to bring up race and MVP's not me. Only one Canadian has ever won a MVP.
2. WHAT??? That makes ZERO since. He is more valuable because his teammates couldn't make a shot? He was more valuable because he scored 1 point in the 2nd half??? PUH LEAZE. While I agree Kobe was a worthy MVP candidate. That argument is ridiculous. ESPECIALLY since Nash won the MVP because he made his teammates BETTER!!!>
Hey Rebel heres Kobes legacy disliked by majority of NBA players cheated on your wife subsequently charged for rape got off rape charges and won nothing with Lakers since real Laker MVP Shaq left town. Oh Yeah that little white boys team beat your #### in playoff bet he will not beat Shaqs team if they meet in finals. So what is Kobes legacy he won three titles as Shaqs sidekick and a scoring title because he shoots fifty times a night thats his legacy along with Bonds like hatred for his arrogant selfish attitude.

I'm going to kept pointin this out every time I see Rebel and Wesley make there stupid race comments Magic 22 and 11 in 1988 Nash 18 and 11 in 06 Magic black man Nash little white man 3 points difference in there stats not much at all so take your stupid race comments somewhere else. Bird outscored Magic in some of MAGICS MVP years NBA must have been prejudice against Bird for being white your race comments are just plain stupid.

ok..for now on your are to be referred to as Mr. irrelevant..b/c everything you state is irrelevant
88-89- magic 22.5 12.8 7.9
bird- 19.3 4.8 6.2
89-90 magic 22.3 11.5 6.6
bird- 24.3 7.5 9.5
86-87 magic 23.9 12.2 6.3
bird 28.1 7.6 9.2
bird probably had a better season statistically in 87

magic had better years in the 2 back to backs..
kobe outscored nash 35 to 18...it thats your argument....your are wasting your time...bird beat magic by 5 pts at the most..
thats like comparing a thurderstorm to a hurricane...

My point is Magic stats in MVP year 89-90 very similar to Nash's stats in 06 only 3 points a game seperating the two. The leading scorer in NBA has on many occasions not been MVP look it up Rebel. Kobe can score 40 pts a game next year Rebel and he will not be MVP unless his team at least wins there division. Leading scorer in NBA does not make you MVP but you just do not seem to get that Rebel. I am not going to argue this point any further with you obviously your going to think Kobe was MVP regardless of what I say. Regardless. of what you believe when people look back at NBA records there going to see Nash as MVP not KOBE LOL! This will probably be Nash's last MVP age and injury taking toll on his body but now I believe Lebron or Wade will be MVP next year if they stay healthy not Kobe.
