During the offseason of football I was estatic and I mean estatic to hear that Terrell Owens was coming to my hometown Dallas, Texas to play for my beloved Dallas Cowboys. I thought I had finally gotten my cake and was about to get to eat it too! I was a huge Terrell Owens fan and a lifetime Dallas Cowboys fan. I thought this was the puzzle piece that was going to bring us back to our "Glory Days". I knew we really didn't have a quarterback, but Terrell could make it happen. Hell I could throw him the ball and he could make it happen. So I was one of the few that totally supported Jerry Jones and Bill Parcells in this pick-up. I withstood the injury in the preseason, thinking he's strong he'll rebound from it without a doubt. I withstood the first controversial comments he made, because that was one of the reasons I loved the man. I mean he could talk all the smack he wanted and actually walk the walk, alot of men can't do that. I withstood the hand injury. Then came the suicide attempt, or was it a suicide attempt newsstory of the week. Then came some more of his comments. Then there was the "napping" endzone celebration. Then some more comments. The birthday party. Etc. Etc. I defended him to my family, my friends, my co-workers, anything that would listen to me. Then this Sunday morning I woke up with a bruise on my ####. You know why? I officially fell off the "Terrell Bandwagon". I'm done. I watched the interview with DeAngelo Hall after the game Saturday and thought, hummm bitter grapes. I didn't believe DeAngelo Hall. Then shortly after I watched the interview with the man himself, Terrell Owens. I watched him admit to spitting in Hall's face, I watched him poorly apologize, I watched him try to justify it, and watched him act as if it was no big deal. I felt so stupid. This man disrespected a fellow athlete in the most disgracing way. He made himself look horrible and lose all my respect and I think he portrayed a black light on the Cowboys as well. So the NFL fines him $35,000. Seeing as how he makes a little more than $296,000 a game I'm sure this really hit him hard. HAH! So what lesson is he going to learn exactly? Nothing. This is where I think Jerry Jones and the Cowboys organization need to take a stand and do something about it themselves. So here I am with my beloved team clinching a spot in the playoffs, and an out of control, sel####estructing, direspectful spitter that is supposed to be leading us there?? Talk about a bittersweet double-edged sword. Thats all I got.
We may win the Super Bowl this year, but as I pointed out in a blog of my own the other day, we'll have that same bad taste in our mouths we did after the Barry Bowl.
(But Six Championships?!!)
I know, I know. But is the ring worth losing integrity?
I have no pride in my Cowboys. I haven't had since the days of the Barry Switzer cocaine cowboys. Tom Landry must be spinning in his Grave although we did have a moment welll.....maybe not. Micheal Irvin was as bad as T.O.

I really don't think he is even your best receiver, plus how great would it look for a great team to cut this loser, I'm a 49er fan TO is cancer believe that!! No more TO period.
As far as T.O. goes, I've done the same thing. Mainly I've thought everything up till Saturday was largely the press just blowing things way out of proportion. Unlike you though, I hated the idea of T.O. coming to Dallas. I couldn't believe that that stupid Oklahoman who bought my beloved Boys would bring in a player who celebrated on our star. After finally getting him into practice I figured "what the heck, I'll give him a chance". Much to my chagrin he bit me in the proverbial buttock. But I refuse to judge my Cowboys on one man. I don't care if they are "Americas Team" they are my team and I still back them all the way. T.O.'s got alot of redeeming to do before I'll forgive him for embarrassing my team though.
I have to say that my view of the Cowboys has indeed been tainted by TO's antics. But once he's gone, I'll have no problem. Had it been anybody else, I would have a lasting bad impression of the Boys. But everybody's seen TO's handiwork. He did it with San Fran and Philly, so we were all expecting it anyway. Don't worry about it, just make sure to get TO out of Dallas by next year and it will all be forgiven.
