If the winners (3) would please go to my profile page and send me a message through FOX e-mail with your name & addresses I would like to send you out your prizes.
Thanks again everyone for taking part and you all did a tremendous job.
Congrats to our winners! And thank you so much for putting this on, Soc. It was fun to sit down and think about why indeed I am a Mariner fan (glad I don't have to write about it right now...12 out of 14...sheesh).
Yeah the M's are lookin' like ####, but I'm still going to the game on Saturday. If they don't beat the D'Rays on Saturday, I may jump off the Space Needle.
Congrats to the fan of the Orioles. I feel your pain.
It was an honor to be in the contest and represent my team. And KSP gets a much deserved win. His post on the Orioles was outstanding.
Congrats to all who competed. I thought everyone did an outstanding job!
Thanks again for orgaizing the contest, Socrates. It was great fun. Truly, you do not have to send me a prize as competing was enough reward for me. Though providing prizes is very generous of you and I can send you my mailing info to your FoxSports inbox.
Congratulations again. And YES Nooch Please send me your address. They're not HUGE prizes but they are things you might enjoy. I'll let the winners tell you what they receive!

Wow... I'm surprised, yet very happy and honored to have won this. There were a lot of great posts out there by a lot of solid bloggers.
I would like to thank everyone that voted for me, and a big thank you to Socrates for putting this whole contest together. I thought it was a lot of fun, and I looked forward to coming on line during the week knowing that I would have some baseball blogs coming my way.
Great job to the others that won... congrats Nooch and Top.
Not sure what else to say, but I hope this at least beat out Mike Vick's speech. =)
To those that feel the pain of an O's fan... that means you probably feel equal or similar pains... I know you Rangers fans do... Rays... Mariners too especially after a tough year, and the list goes on. I hear you... and feel your pain as well...
The O's apparently gave up another 18 tonight... it is getting embarrassing for the Birds this year... but I truly do feel that brighter days are ahead... and if I begin to lose that feeling, I may go read my post again. I know that each and every one of your teams also have players and histories that you can look forward to and be proud of... always remember that!! At least we have the game at all to keep us entertained!

Now I know ksp is a humble guy but I did want to bring this up. HE beat out 14 excellent bloggers here. JPQ, TopHat, Nooch, broblog, cuz, Morisato, Forensic2, jon464, ian 2813, hoit and Marty Walker these guys write quite a few posts and are very, very good at it. Bosox61, golfblogger, and saxman57, although I wasn't too familiar with them they showed tremendous ability. I was very impressed. This was a fun contest. And everyone deserves a round of applause for their efforts.
I'm currently setting up the NFL contest. There will be some changes but not much. I'll put it up on Monday the 17th.
Kevin, I couldn't in good consciene vote for my own, besides yours was so much better you got my vote. Of course even tht was hard because most were darn good.
Hey jon, better luck next time. Everyone did their best and should be proud not only of what they wrote but also for being class acts towards each other. I'm hoping the football one is as competitive and sportsmanlike.
Great job Socrats...Putting this together and then pulling it off with such a huge success, you da man! Just truly a bunch of great pieces and totally agree with the voting, KSP wrote a great one, way to go!
Congratulations KP. Congrats to all who participated. Socrates, Thanks for letting me be part of this. It was a fine experience.
Sorry it took so long to acknowledge the results but I had foot surgery yesterday and I have been drifting in and out for the past two days. Only stayed awake long enough to comment on the Belichick situation a couple of times. Here is a lesson for all of you. 62 year old men should not be playing basketball with kids.
Socrates, I've been in the mood to stop time -- if only for a moment, so I just 'might' do it!
[Provided your contest doesn't become a tool to promote or serve anyone else's agenda. No offense to you or your integrity, but this is the biggest obstacle to my participation, which, again, remains unlikely.]
As a detached observer, however, I really, really like what you're doing.
Plus, Da Bears have given me so much to work with.
Again, congratulations all.

I thought all the scribble was top notch, every single entry was for the love of the game, Soc O' Swat deserves a big round of applause also, I was honored to be a judge and quite frankly it was a tough, tough call, Congrats to KSP, I hope you note this in your profile because it is a great honor fairly earned and I hope it is the start o####reat tradition here at FoxBlogs...
Congratulations KP on your winning entry. You did a great job on it. Congratulations, Socrates on running such a great contest. Congratulations to all who participated in this contest
Soc, you da man. Congrats on the Game Ball. I could do one before the results came out or people would have said I was pandering to you. One vote. I don't know who voted mine but thanks so much.
Way to go, KSP! I'm proud of you and everyone else. Soc, this was the best idea ever for casual fans like me that didn't know much of the history about the teams. I hope you don't mind, but I passed this idea along to a 7th grade English teacher. She is going to adjust the rules and use it to help her kids learn to do research and get them writing about topics they enjoy knowing about. Again, thanks to all. It was wonderful to see you write from your hearts as well as your heads.
Ed, I hope you're right. Hopefully this will induce others to put out ideas that they might not otherwise. These posts can be a good learning tool for everyone here if we approach it in a constructive way. Thanks for the kind words.
You, broncogirl, and Photogr did a fine job yourselves. Thank you.
Marty thanks, but I only accept it if ALL the entrants get a piece of the game ball too. It was a team effort. I was only the emcee, these guys were the stars. Also YOU get a game ball for your 'Daily Game Balls' post. It's a great idea and a hit.

Volfan, thanks for the kind words. Part of the reason for the contest was for fans to remember what makes Baseball..well BASEBALL. It's all not just about W/L, and steriods. It's about our family heritages and how it affects our lives.
It's more of a family tree than some would like to realize. Baseball is and will always be AMERICA's game.
It made my day knowing your friend pick up something useful from this. That's the purpose of these things sometimes. I hope it becomes a useful learning technique for her/him.

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of this inthe first place. Also I'd like to thank all of the other competitors who took part in all of this. Hopefully those who not only read the pieces and voted will have enjoyed the content.
But for me it wasn't solely about winning but to get the others within the forum to enjoy something we all do with great deal of passion.
So once again thanks for the opportunity and stay safe ! And for those of you voted for all of the contestants an emphatic thank you !

Congrats, KP! I voted for Nooch, but if we'd been allowed to vote by ranking our top three or something you would've been on my ballot. Congratulations to everyone else who participated. I know I had fun, and it's good to see that so many others enjoyed it too. Thanks again socrates, for organizing this contest.

Donate the prize if its of any financial value to a kid's charity of your choice. Like I said I didn't enter as such for the glory but just to have some fun.
Hopefully that's OK with you ?

I'd rather see this go to a worthy cause and what better than it going to a children's charity ? I think at this time where our children have been neglected by our government
it only seems it should be that way. Over the weekend I'll be tutoring kids in Maths and English as well as teaching a class in karate. I find it almost farcical at times that we've now got kid that aren't even able to read and write the English language properly. And then to see the travesty that took place in New Orleans and still taking place. Children who've not been able to have ample study equipment let alone the chance to physical activities of any sort.

Check out my most recent posts as and when you're ready. They're entitled Cheer And Be Damned ! And then there's Damn That Man Named Jackson Is Bad ! No Not Michael But Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson. I don't know if you're a fan of the latter as it covers the sport of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). But take a look and let me know what you think ?
I received my runner-up prize yesterday. Very cool! Among the collection of great stuff you sent, I think my personal favorite was the Will Clark jersey card. Will the Thrill was always one of my favorite players, because I always appreciated the intensity he brought to the game.
Also, thanks so much for the baseball-themed award trophy. Very cool stuff.
Again, thanks so much for your generosity and for organizing the contest. It was great fun and my privilege to have been able to compete in it.
