I am very sad to see Germany lose. Italy is not one of my favorites, but they did better when it really mattered. They had two gorgious goals that I will give them credit for. I can only hope for France to win the Porgual game, Portugal not being one of my favorites. We'll see???
So at my house it has been an on-going arguemet of who will make it to the finals and who we want to make it to the finals... Blah blah blah. I think it will be Brazil (that's almost a given) and I'm hoping Germany because they are the host nation. Also because didn't they lose to Brazil in the final four years ago? I can't seem to remember, and if Germany wasn't in it four years age I would still like them to be on it. Does anyone care to take a guess with me?
What was up with Germany? They couldn't buy a goal from Poland. They definitely and obviously played better, but couln't score until the 92nd or 93rd min. I'll give Poland credit for holding them, or at least their goal keeper. Poland made a huge mistake, with 15 min. left a player got a red card. He was being really stupid, why did he do that? Overall it was an exciting game to watch, Germany kept me on my toes. I liked the attack when Germany crossed the ball and hit the cross bar twice in a row, then scored but it was offside. I am glad they finally scored though, I was getting rather worried that they would never get one. I hope they do well in the rest of the World Cup, because they are hosting it.
Spain totally creamed Ukraine. Isn't that better for the US though? The final score was 4-0, Spain. Spain's goal's were fantastic. The last one was the best, by Torres. And Villa had two goals, good for him! I felt bad for the Ukraine player though, I don't know his name, he got a yellow for a foul, then off of the free kick of his foul he had an own goal. All within 30 sec. The ball was kicked and he tried to clear it but it was moving to hard and spin off of him, making the keeper miss it. What was up with the pk though? And the red card. The guy didn't even foul the Spain player. The sad part is that of couse the spainish player (Viila?) scored. The Ukraine team looked like they were asleep, sort of like the US.
Funny tip: So far the Wold Cup hasn't been to good for the Countries that start with the letter U, Ukraine - United States. lol
I wish Togo would of won their game. I was routing for them, especially with a man down. They had much better foot skills than Korea and overall were a better team. Korea got a free kick and buried it, unfortunately. Take away Korea's free kick and it would of been a tie. I can't wait to watch Togo in their next game against Swizerland-June 19.
I also can't wait to watch the game of Spain vs. Ukraine. Spain has an excellent team, but the Ukraine has the best striker in the world, Andre Shevchanko. Tell me what you think??
So what happened to the US team? I didn't get a chance to see the game. I unfortunetely only saw the score, that we got our butts kicked. I would love to hear your thoughts.
I am from Colorado. The best state of all! Soccer is my life. My parents were both pro-soccer referees. My mom was a FIFA. My dad for a reason unknown to almost anyone you ask, including himself, did not become one. For me I have been around soccer my whole life! And I love every second of it. The first time I went to a soccer game, I was three days old, watching the USA vs. Uru####, with my dad running the line, so my parents say. I don't remember. But, how much better could it get? Since I was old enough to watch I have been watching and attepting to play. Now I play all the time and enjoy every minute.
My favorite team to win the World Cup is probably Germany! Other than that I like Arsenal and ManU.
