In this edition of my Sunday Socal Rants, I want to discuss the hosing of OJ Simpson. Sure he may be guilty of murder, but that doesn't mean he is guilty of armed robbery and kidnapping. OJ was tried, found guilty, and now will go to prison solely because of what he may or may not have done 13 years ago. I am not saying he is innocent of murder, but I do think you should go to jail for the crimes for which you are tried. In this case, OJ is going to jail for a crime in which he was acquitted. In this trial, the judge, the prosecuting attorney, and the jurors all have made a mockery of our judicial system.
How long before Marvin Lewis is fired? I think he is out before Halloween. When the Bengals lose to Dallas today, the Jets next week, then have to face the Steelers, Texans, and Jaguars, the Orange and Black will have a new head coach going into All Hallows Eve. Add to that list, the injuries to Carson Palmer, the signing of Cedric the Incarcerated Benson to the roster, activating Chris Henry, and the antics of Ocho Cinco, Marvin Lewis never had a chance. Cincinnati will be lucky to win 3 games this year. The only thing uglier than those costumes the Bengals call uniforms will be losing 9 straight games and blaming racism on the firing of Marvin.
Speaking of Halloween, is anyone else ready for Al Davis to take off the mask he wears of being an NFL owner? Really, he should stop pretending to be an owner, and put on the hat of being a coach. He wants to call the plays, he wants to draft the players, and he wants to run the team so why not be the coach. Who else will take this team? Davis has single handedly destroyed this once proud franchise. If an owner could be fired, this is the one that needs to go.

Well The Juice got more than squeezed as it took a predominantly minority based jury to do what a majority based Caucasian based jury couldn't do in the first place. How ironic is that ?
The vultures are already swirling over Lewis' body as of now. It'll become even more dire should they lose today.
As for Al Davis the poor basta*rd isn't congnescant of what the hell is happening around him. Never mind the fact that he made the asinine comment that Kiffin wasn't the man he thought he was. What the hell was he thinking when he hired him in the first place ? Christmas has come early ?
Santa should tell Davis is nothing more than a kid's fairy tale.
I didnt see you at the trial. What part of the trial were you upset about most. That OJ killed someone thirteen years ago and got away with it or he was not allowed to commit another felony and get away with it because of all the bad publicity for Killing someone thirteen years ago and getting away with it.
hi Just, good to see you again. Al Davis is so senile it is pitiful.
Fish, I am upset anytime a jury convicts a person because of percieved former transgressions. OJ was acquitted for Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman. Like it or not, that should not be a part of this trial, and yet it was the prosecution's entire case. The judge refused to allow the defense to bring in anything from the former case, but allowed the prosecution to repeatedly refer to it. Like or not, the conviction based upon 3-4 thugs. How would you like to be convicted by the word of 4 felons?
Bleed, same as to fish.
STeve, at least you can see the light. Thanks for posting.

When you've an owner making the statement ..."he's not the man I thought I'd hired " Then that indeed has to tell you all you need to know concerning Davis' wholehearted demeanor. The guy is way past his prime and he's heading nowehere fast !
As to the OJ issue one could see that this was in t he offing one way or another. It was just a matter of time as to how things would play out concerning this whole episode.
