With the suspension of Wade Wilson for taking HGH, I got to wondering who was next on Roger Goodell'#### list: Just a few of my suggestions to the new commish.
Mike Ditka: You heard me right. Superbowl winning coach Mike Ditka should be banned for life for taking and becoming the pitchman for Levitra the rival of Viagra. Certainly Mike of the Bears fame was taking this little PE to help him perform. No wonder he was called "Big Iron Mike." He can Kick and Scream all he wants, but maybe he should be stripped of his 1985 Super Bowl ring.
Andy Reid: If Wilson can get 5 games for taking HGH, which won't help him coach any better, then how many games will Reid get for two sons, count em again, two sons who are drug addicts and can't stay out of the news. After all, Goodell wants to clean up the image of the NFL, so we can't have coaches with sons embarrassing the league. Heroin, DUI, Oxycodon, and a list that includes Road Rage for Reid's sons. Sounds like 8 games to me, or until Coach Reid spends some quality time with his sons.
Bill Belichick: Is there another coach who looks as disheveled as Bill? Wearing those baggy sweatshirts should levie a 3 game suspension at a minimum. After all, doesn't Goodell want to improve the image of the NFL? Take a page from David Stern and make em wear ties on the sideline. If it was good enough for Tom Landry, it can be good enough for Bill.
All kidding aside, what Wilson did had no bearing on the outcome of any football games. He did not "enhance" his coaching nor has he been accused of giving HGH to players. For those who insist it was illegal to have the HGH, I disagree, but that is beside the point. Speeding down the highway is illegal too, but should every player be suspended for that? Of course not. The feds aren't prosecuting Wilson and neither should Goodell..
If a substance is banned for students and a fellow teacher is caught with it, should they be punished?
Lets say the P.E. teacher or football coach has access to steroids or HGH. Would you say that, since he's not a student or on the field, he shouldn't be punished for having them? It's a pretty easy connection to make that the teacher (or, in Wilson's case, a coach) could supply a player or players with the drug, legal or not.
The NFL has a policy, and coaches need to abide by the same policy as players. 5 games may be a little steep, but wouldn't Goodell look like a hypocrite had he not punished Wilson after taking a stand on so many other things?
I'm sure the NFL would like to silence Ditka, but not for peddling sexual enhancers. If anything, they should be after him for (and I have no real proof, just from what I heard) being drunk while in the booth during one of the Bears preseason games. They'd probably rather just shut him up so he can't continue pushing for better benefits for ex-players though.
Mercury, there are some things legal for adults and illegal for minors, like alcohol. Should a teacher be fired for having a beer? No, but a student would be. HGH can be obtained legally.
As for Ditka, and other coaches, if Tank Johnson can be suspended for a DUI, so can any coach, but when is the last time a coach was suspended for off the field behavior? This thing with Wilson is hypocritical in my opinion. He did nothing to help his team cheat, like Barry Bonds. He did nothing like Sean Merriman. He is a coach with diabetes. I would try anything to improve my life if I was taking shots every day.

Ok, so what if that teacher was drinking the beer in the classroom, his office, or on the sideline during FB practice?
We're in agreement on coaches. They should be suspended for off-field behavior. The problem is, with Ditka, he's not coaching now so they can't do anything to him even if they wanted to.
Are you saying you'd do it even if it was viewed by your employer as breaking a stipulation of your employment agreement?
Merc, if a teacher is drinking in the classroom they should be fired, but I don't consider Wilson's transgressions the same. He took HGH for his diabetes, whether it helped or not, that is what he was doing. Plus, there is no indicationi he took it while at the office, or on the playing field, or gave it to players.
