Once upon a time, there was a concept called a climactic playoff chase.
Then the White Sox and Twins happened, THE END.
Earlier this week the Sox and Twins gave us a great taste of the A.L. Central playoff chase. The Twinkies swept the Sox and left us waiting for the final series against the tomato can Royals** and Indians.
Then the mouse roared. The Twins lost the first two against K.C. and the Indians are giving the ChiSox a nice S&M beat down.
I LOVE the end of the MLB season. Pick your cliche and use it.
That's why they play the games.
Every game counts.

Do the White Sox actually want to be in the playoffs let alone win the AL Central ?
As to the Mets if they should buckle and fold then they've only got themselves to blame.
The Wilpons as owners are much like their crosstown counterparts they just don't get it all. Minaya as the GM has been about as useful as a dose of the cl*ap. And would that be the appropriate analogy here ?
Are we there yet ? My hemorrhoids are playing up. You know there was a time when I used to love watching my Mets play. Now I don't even know what day of the week it is much less what city the team might be playing in.

I think the Red Sox fans are now on the cusp of falling right off the edge of a cliff.
It's not as if they'd not seen this coming now is it ? Hell you'd have to be naive not to.
But then again we're talking 'bout Red Sox fans aren't we ? The only more obnoxious fans are those dreaded Yankees.
