Tonight's Finals matchup lived up to expectations as Kansas took Mempis to OT.
This game was well officiated and featured great play on both sides of the ball. Few ticky tack calls were made and no one was gyped on their ticket price. (Memphis fans will disagree.)

That's field goal percentage and free throw percentage.
Kansas is the former and Memphis the latter. Field goal percentage was my predictor for the game winner. Strangely, Kansas trailed by nine late in the game, yet came back strong.
Memphis blew it at the charity stripe when it mattered most, late in the game. That doomed the gents from Memphis. (repeat) 4 of 5 inside two minutes set up the Kansas comeback.
Goat Award: Memphis, your coach didn't teach you well. With seven seconds and a three point lead, Memphis didn't foul a Kansas inbound to end the game! WHAT WEREN'T YOU THINKING!!!! We all saw a penetration and kickout for a three to tie the game with 2.1 in regulation. This needs to be at the top of a Top 20 Countdown Show. Knucklehead.
Overtime was all Kansas as Memphis went cold.

The pundits all talked about how Memphis would step up the free throws in the post season. Oops! That's gonna leave a mark. Toss the free throws aside and figure out how the brilliant Memphis coach did NOT have his team foul with 7 seconds left. Amazing knuckleheadedness.
Husker - Three great points, shooting %, free thows down the stretch, and no foul at the end. That saved the Hawks. Turnovers were almost KU's undoing and they could not hit from outside, till it really counted. Great game, IMO.
sishusker your points are valid foul and win!! wow why didn't they think of that I was screaming at my tv FOUL THEM but no!! and I have to give Kansas alot of respect you never seen them hang their heads even when it looked like defeat was imanent.
If you Cant hit an uncontested shot from 15 feet away then you dont deserve to be national champions..period. Their coach said going into the tournement that their foul shooting would not bring them down but he was oh so Wrong! Hats off to the Jayhawks for hanging in and hitting big shots when they were needed. And although it may have been a "smart" play to foul immediately instead of giving Kansas a last shot to tie, thats not how the game should be played..and i dont care who says otherwise.
husk....It won't show up in foul shots taken, but KU did get a lot of ticky tack fouls called their way. The last on against Dorsey for instance with 2 minutes left. Thirty feet from the basket the KU guy slips, and it's Dorsey's fifth. At least 3 of Dorsey's five were #### calls.
But, as the hoops genius Kelly Scott says, "You've got to make your free throws."!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Either way, Kansas held Memphis to 28 in the first half, the only to do better was USC, held them to 24 in the first. Tulsa also held them to 28 in the first but both lost. Had Kansas not turned the ball over 30,000 times it might not have mattered. And by the way, Joey Dorsey outscores Rose in the first half! yes, that just happened.
Give the Rock Chalkers credit, they played tough down the stretch to force the overtime. Like stealing the inbounds pass and hitting a big three pointer to get the lead down to 4. That was a big play that few people talk about.
I thought I read somewhere that Calipari told his team to foul Kansas on the last possession in regulation but the players either (a) didn't listen or (b) didn't execute.
The world may never know.
p.s. Roy Williams wearing a Jayhawk sticker has to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I nearly spilled my beer every time they showed him on tv.
